The WTF look must have been priceless.

LOL, I was one of those kids. I just wish my parents had photographed my face when I transformed Ironhide for the first time. I just remember being baffled for hours thiinking I was transforming it wrong and somehow the battleplatform joned together with the bot to make the "real" Ironhide. LMAO

If only we'd had Ryan's galleries back then; we could have checked what they looked like before asking our parents for them. O, Ryan, where hast thou been all our lives?
I never had these chaps and I'm quite happy with that!

Hah, I wouldn't of traded mine in for anything. It was part of the G1 experience and the figures will always being a smile to my face.
In all honesty, If I had to sell either all my MPs and BTs or sel all of my series 1 G1s, I would ditch the MPs in a heartbeat. Nostalgia ftw baby.

I see what you mean. I mainly appreciate TFs that look a little different; I think it adds charm and character, hency why I sold my Alts.
I've never handled one of these fellows in real life. Are they quite tight? They've always looked quite flimsy.

had the cartoon characters been drawn closer to the toy modes (almost droid like with a flat screen like face) im sure that there would be far more fans liking these toys. I wouldnt call these toys ugly but quirky. ugly, think fuzors.

Fuzors were DESIGNED to be hideous. Having a chair for a face is not a design choice.
Diaclone or not, I want a proper reissue ironhide, if they can remold the face of Bumblebee for a reissue, why cant they do it for Ironhide?
Because making Bumblebee show accurate meant changing the head. Making Ironhide show accurate would mean starting from scratch and designing a new figure. And you'd probably still bitch about the result.Sid Burn wrote:

What Bumblebee reissue?
Sid Burn wrote:Kimmer wrote:they're a must buy for old schoolers like myself. it's simple, i'm getting them because it's g1 ironhide and g1 ratchet, case closed. i guess maybe the younger guys just look at the actual figure and how it looks and the older guys 25+ look at the nostalgia more. yes, the bot modes are atrocious but it really doesn't bother at all.
Just to make sure we are on the same page, I am the same age bracket as you. I grew up with G1, I have a wide G1 collection, but ugly is ugly. If you can transform these molds and say to me "look its ironhide and ratchet" I will have to laugh at you. Sure TECHNICALLY they are the toy representations of these beloved characters but in bot mode, they may as well be machine gun turrets for minicons.
Lapse of reason is correct, Ironhide and Ratchet got shafted in the G1 toyline. But even with all that going against these molds, if Takara had taken some time and molded faces on those souless plates, I would have been happy to pick them up.
As it is, my G1 collection will be without these icons, they will be reissued again, hopefully the way they should have been.

He's talking about the Takara Collection Minibots, I think.

There was a face remold for those? I thought the change was made just to the keychains. Hmm.

I would have thought that there would be some way of having the back of the seat split open and fold down to reveal a proper head but if not then the Repro labels will do just fine but is the face hidden in alt mode?
Do you have sand in your vagina today? Do you? Yes you do. Run along and ask mommy to change your diaper and clean that nasty sand out.Sid Burn wrote:I am not talking about starting from scratch, I am talking about a molded head that would go in place of the chair thing behind the window. I dont know what it is about you sledge, you run around these boards with an asshole mentality. You are all sarcasm and no substance.
At least counterpunch has opinions that ring true, you are all the douche of CP and none of the relevance.
Sledge wrote:Cartoon Ironhide, in case you missed it, didn't have his head in his chest. In fact, cartoon Ironhide looked almost nothing like his toy. And even if you DO think putting a sticker on the back of the seat would help, why don't you just do that?
Ok, you don't like the Ironhide toy. Big whoop. Why not shut up and let people who ARE interested discuss it?
