The Binaltech line is as close to the Masterpiece line as possible. I don't see how Takara could improve upon them. That's why Soundwave would be a great addition to the line. On one side, you've got Megatron, Soundwave, and as many Seekers as Takara wants to release, on the other side, Convoy, Magnus, and an army of Autobot cars.

I think it'd be pretty pointless at this stage. Between the G1 toy and the Mp3 player both being pretty good toys, I really don't think it's necessary. But if they ever do attempt a masterpiece Soundwaves, I'd expect them to pull out all the stops. On top of cartoon accuracy, it might be worth considering making him a functioning cassette player. Obsolete technology, but oldskool cool. Add to that a tape of "Soundwave superior, Constructicons inferior", and other classic lines.

The only other thing that'd really make it worthwhile for me is the job they do on Ravage, Rumble, Laserbeak and co.

Otherwise I'd have to say I'd much rather have a good masterpiece Grimlock.

I'd be a lot happier with them if they weren't all contemporary cars and if they matched the original car modes. I also feel that with they're kind of wasting my time with Grimlock, Ravage, Shockwave, and anything that wasn't supposed to turn into a car originally.

I think that the real advantage to an MP Soundwave would be the cassettes. As has already been stated, soundwave doesn't need a lot of help, as his original design is pretty good. A couple of tweeks here and there an he'd be perfect.

But imagine a line of cassettes that would be about scout size, that are actually true to the original show, now that would rock. Rumble and Frenzy with hands and pile drivers. A Ravage that isn't flat. Now that would be cool, and they could probably also be used as fillers in the line between major releases.

That's all dreaming for now of course, but it would be awesome.

Probably not because he is being manufactured and packaged by Hasbro and not by Takara. Takara is just being the End Seller for the Japanese market.

I dunno, I think the MP od Starscream is pretyt complex, it always had to be to stand a cat in hell's chance of looking naything like the cartoon version (which admitedly was spoilt by a 'realistic' coat of paint).

Still a damn nice peice of engineering. IMO the most technically brilliant TF there has ever been. Sure (at least in RM) Prime and Megs look better, but boy, they aint as complex.

Regarding Soundwave- If it's true, then Takara has no excuse not to make him the most toon accurate Masterpiece with incredible articulation; and it better come with a hefty amount of die-cast for a change.

Too bad MP-07 is already confirmed to be SS and I would be shocked if 08 was not Thundercacker.

I think Rodimus gets a Bad wrap sometimes.. He really is a cool character, and so what if he replaced optimus on the show, I think there was some good direction that the Transformers universe was going.. the only problem was that at that time, they changed the leadership when The series was still at it's height.. had they waited till the interest started to fall off and then changed, IMO the initial shock and reaction would have been lessened..

Oh, and sledge, I'm just messin wit ya man!!! But if you do need an extra pair of Prime decorated Undies, I have some for ya... and plenty of tissues if you want to cry again about Optimus prime's death...

MP Rodimus Prime must be MP-07.

If they do mp soundwave I hope he comes with ratbat rather then ravage now a show acurate rumble would be cool if you could somehow make so can switch his arms for the jackhammers like in the cartoon.

If it is any autobot I hope it is blaster with ramhorn, eject. Then they could repaint him as twincast and have steeljaw and rewind come with him. then for 08 and 09 they could do soundwave and you could have them face off in some dramatic battle poses.
