How is thi spossible, if they had the molds the this woul dof been released ages ago, this has to be re-engineered, so that means other figures that were out of reach ar enot out of reach. Victory Sabre has to be released, so many people would snap that up, the dinobots obviously. But I really can't see the point in buying g1 figures nymore, unless you have an unbeleivable amount of space, why would you want a g1 figure whe you can buy the inevitable MP version, g1 is the best line so far, but it's only now they can bring the vision to life, there is somuch revamped g1 goodness out there that you really can recreate g1 in a much better way, theres the third party Not Devastator oming out, id rather that than this. If you hav eloada g1 its time to pgrade if you don't then a few authentic pieces would be kool, but I really can't se the point, nostalgia is one thing but it can't bet a perfect version that actually looks like it should.

I think you're underestimating nostalgia. Also some people have a complete reverence for history, which this release is definitely a big part of.

Classics and MP versions are wonderful, and usually have better articulation, but never underestimate actual G1 figures. There's a place for all figures when you're a Transformers fan.

I'm torn with this post.

Part of me wholeheartedly agrees. I mean, I couldn't even stomach the thought of RtS Perceptor in my Neo-G1 collection when the G1 looks so much better.

Yet, on the other hand...the Classics and Masterpiece updates on most (not all) of the figures have put G1 completely to shame. Granted, that's an opinion and not a fact, but it's one that's widely held.

So, I'm really torn. Part of me wants to agree, part of me wants to disagree.

However, I will say there's room for this reissue. For several reasons:

1.) Crazy Devy's attachments do give it quite a bit of articulation and update it.

2.) It's friggin' Devastator. The original has always had a soft spot in a lot of collector's hearts. Mine included. That's big for me to admit.

3.) The iGear (or whoever it is...) Devastator will be $600.00. SIX HUNDRED FRIGGIN' DOLLARS. I could pay $130.00 for Devastator, or $600.00...umm, gee, lemme think...

Yeah, I'll save the price of a CAR PAYMENT, and stick with the badass reissue.

I'd rather see a Leader-Class (or at least Voyager-Class) Generations/United/Classics/Whatever version Victory Sabre (as long as we got a REAL version and not just some similarly coloured homage), even the RobotMasters version has better articulation than the original (though it was sadly missing the BrainMaster due to size). Though I'm willing to bet a third party will do that, not HasTak. :-(

Honestly, the only reason I'm so excited about a Devastator reissue is because I've bought all the CrazyDevy parts even though I don't yet have a Devastator to attach them to — I even hedged my bets and bought CDMW-08 and CDMW-08* in case I ended up getting a knock-off out of desperation.

I'd imagine a big part of that is Perceptor as half-track. If they'd stuck with a microscope and just went with modern articulation on it like they did with the majority of the neo-G1s (Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Jazz, Wheeljack, Kup, etc. admittedly all AUTObots) it could have been all win… :BANG_HEAD:

I got a KO set from KO toys roughly 6 months ago and haven't touched it yet so I might leave it as is and go for this; I do hope the price is lower than what's been quoted.

This is fantastic news! I thought that Takara was not allowed to reissue this because of some copyright over the molds. I'm not sure where I heard that, but I'm glad it's not true.

If this is true, I'll finally have an excuse to bust out the yellow and orange G2 Constructicons as well as the European non-combining Constructicons. We'll have to have a Tonka truck themed week!!!

Man ... that'd totally help getting us to 2,500 galleries by the end of the year. All of those Constructicon galleries could amount to at least 27+ galleries, 28 if I do Action Master Devastator as well.

Now that's a damn cool reissue!

I wonder if there will be any changes/improvements, like there were for Predaking.

Not that I can think of many improvements that are required for G1 Devy.

They could easily add ball joints to some portions of the component figures themselves. The legs would be next to impossible, given how they transform and combine, but arms and heads could be doable.

I doubt it'll be anything drastic.

This is just freakin' awesome. Now this mold had legal issues involved and that's why Hasbro never re-released it?? Maybe by next Botcon they will release the G2 set. I think its now a matter of time for Stunticon fans to get Menasor then all will be right with the world. At least for that moment...'nuff said! :VEHI:
