Transformers Toy haul thread
Re: Transformers Toy haul thread
Hauls for the week, all at discount. Bee and the dying Ratchet and Brawn set were 15% off at Target. For Swoop, my preorder from Gamestop was stuck in limbo, and I was fortunate to see him pop up on Amazon Warehouse for $43.36 as new/used with package damage and took a chance. It was still sealed with a couple tips above the open window on the front panel and that was all, not even crushed.

The latest Legacy Deluxe wave was at Walmart this evening (not the local Walmart I usually go to) so I picked up Nucleous but not without a little trouble. All of the pegs were clearly marked showing the figures on Rollback for $19.97, but when I scanned it at the self checkout it came up as the normal price. I called over an associate and explained to him that the price was wrong and it was on rollback, he took the figure to his manager and I assumed he was getting the price checked, but she came over and explained that she couldn't reduce the price for the box being a little damaged since the figure was OK. I told her I never even considered a damaged discount the price was wrong and supposed to be on Rollback. She asked me three times where I got it from as if to suggest I picked it up in the wrong place and the price was right until she finally said the only way she could honor the price was if I went back to the toy aisle and showed her where I got it from. I thought it was their job to do the price checks, not mine? Well, if she wants to play games then I have a game for her. I have long legs and she looked to be about 5' tall so I walked briskly to the other end of the store to the toy aisle with her trying to keep up. I showed her the price, she agreed there was a mistake and gave me the Rollback price (we walked back at her pace which was pretty slow). That was a lot more work than it should have been.

Went to get groceries at Walmart.
And like a responsible adult, I came back with the entire first wave of TF-1 deluxes and the 1 step Airachnid.

At around 250$CAN shipped and taxed (183$US) this Mandarake purchase was expensive as hell, but way cheaper than on eBay.
One of my grail, the ever elusive Takara Beast Wars Metal X-9 Jaguar!
Of course, 100% complete with box and papers, except for a
and a
stickers used on both shoulders.

The bot mode is fantastic.

he's just a wee bit thicker than the modern remake.

The only thing I don't like about X-9's transformation is that there's no true way to hide the arms. The official way suck because it give the beast obvious hands on his chest. So what I did was to just flatten the arms at full length under his belly. It works very well and it streamline the beast's silouhette.

Compared to the remake, X-9 is more "Transmetal" (well, he IS) while the remake is more "Beast Wars" (natural).

I'm really glad to have X-9 at last! That was a grail that I waited for a long time to find at a "reasonable" price.
I bought it from Sahra at Mandarake for 20K yen plus shipping and taxes. But they still have another one for sale... Used, chrome flaking, and cigarette smell... for 25K yen, meaning 5K yen more expensive than mine! The stickers arent used but still...

Nice one, Kanra! I've been seeing them show up there lately, glad you got one.
I had good luck at Walmart this morning. Got a ROTB Beast Combiners Arcee for $9 and a ROTB Voyager Optimus Prime for $17!
And yes, I looked Prime over very thoroughly since they'd been gone for a while and this one just sort of showed up. Everything is there including his gun, can't say the same for the one I saw at another Walmart last Sunday on "clearance".
Good luck giving that away!

Thanks and nice score on your end too! Both of these ROTB figures are great.
And that BROKEN Optimus for 30$US... Wow.
The most frustrating thing is even if you bring back the toy to customer service, they won't give a single fuk and they'll put it back on the shelves the day after.
It's been months since that headless SS86 Ironhide is haunting the shelves of my local Walmart. AT FULL PRICE.

Beast Alliance Optimus and Chainclaw were on a shelf at a drug store for a long time. Grabbed it on clearance today. Could have more paint but otherwise I'm surprised at how good it actually is!

Got Filtch from Walmart.com in the mail yesterday. This morning I found ROTB Battlemasters on clearance for $2, the only had two Optimus Primals left so I grabbed them (I already have all of them, these are just extras)
Also got the Core Dinobots upgrade kit from BBTS. Plus some time ago BBTS did a BotBots bundle of the two vehicles and 8 figures for $30 so I finally got that shipped. It's all good, but I really wanted the Kremzeek cosplaying as Megatron more than anything

I think the champion in that category is definitely MP-01 Optimus Prime.

A shame that the Comics figures are Pulse exclusive. Still, appart HASLAB, all of these exclusives found their way to independent stores sooner or later. I'll just have to wait.

It seems like the Comic Edition line is the successor to the Shattered Glass line, being a small capsule series exclusive to Hasbro Pulse running concurrent to the main line with its own little capsules exclusive to Walmart and Amazon.-Kanrabat- wrote:A shame that the Comics figures are Pulse exclusive.
