But looking at it... it's a brick.
No waist, seems to have very little articulation, and looks to have an even easier transformation then G1 Broadside.
I have a good feeling this figure won't be well received once in the hands of the fans.
Maldroth wrote:I like the accuracy of him but your right that prototype is a brick.
If you look closly at it and Ironhide they don't look as refined as the others. They look like painted resin that was done quick for the show.
That aside however with Silverbolt's design i don't think there is much you can do with the torso anyway. All I hope then is that the legs, arms and head get some good articulation to make up for the brick torso.
He will still make it into my collection.

I totally agree with the paint, it looks very matte and unfinished. Silverbolt more then the rest.
I have a feeling that the wings and nosecone on his back rotate 180 degrees. I mean, it would have to right, it's only like 3 or 4 transformation steps as is.

Oh, and to anyone who actually attended Botcon, how comparible are Onslaught and Silverbolt size-wise? Will 'bolt be tiny next to Onslaught?
Stormrider wrote:When I first saw Silverbolt I was psyched with the homage. But after stuyding him carefully I have to agree with most you - I'm not so thrilled.
He has so much potential especially for a Leader class. It seems like they are trading his articulation and transformation for his electronic gimmicks. I am disappointed.

I hate to heard that. I'll get him anyway, but I could really do without the electronics. Do kids really like these gimmicks that much? When I was a kid I never really cared if a toy had sounds or things that were spring loaded.
Stormrider wrote:Is it me, or does Hasbro seem to equate Leader class with light and sound effects? Are there any present leader class figures that don't have electronics?
I'm surprised that the sound and lights take up so much room in the Transformer toys nowadays. They can make sound chips and speakers the size of large coins. It seems a shame to use up the whole fuselage for that kind of treatment.
