I dont know if that is cuase Vanguard (the previous guy who had it) re-renamed his charecter before I did, or if some vestigies of the data from yesterday still exist.

That Vanguard hasnt used his yet, so they remain inactive and therefore dont count towards the list of names.

Anyway, long story short, try it, you might still get em back.

i got ultra magnus straight back even thou Traks had him at the time of this reset

As I was resetting my 'bots, I went ahead and made them all characters from my universe. I was able to access names that I had not been able to before. Funny way the world works, isn't it?

I really didn't want to bring it up and potentially make a bad problem worse but...

Weren't we told after the last crash that back-ups were going to be made more regularly (ie at least once a month) and now we're backed up to 'April' which looks suspiciously like Feb.

just did some double checking

The backup had to from ariound or before 2-26-07 because that was the last time my team had the alt modes that they were restored to.

So again I ask, why weren't the back-ups made... and more importantly what exactly is being done to make sure it doesn't keep happening ?

Everytime there is a game data loss we're told that it'll never happen again, and yet it does.

Again. I'm not blaming OS, he's done a great job trying to fix everything, but if the updates were done on at least a monthly basis there wouldn't be such as mess to fix in the first place.

you guys are able to grab the names because players who held them haven't logged in sinced the problem began. So in all likeliness, there'll be a whole heap of twin TFs with the most popular canon names running around.

and by the look of things on the high score list, not only does one have to login....but activate their TF as well.

I wake up to this insanity...

Backed up to the point Knight Wing (Now Garnet) was my only lv 4, and he got too much of an xp boost to where my namesake isn't on the top anymore because she was lv 3 at the time and she got cut off from nearly making 2 million xp which i'll never make it back there in time for the reset... 'cause I have to go into lv 4 again knowing the rng will love me less like it usually does.

Maybe, but perhaps ridding other weekly backups after creating a new backup might help. Like make a new file and delete the old ones not in use anymore. Annnnd, repeat? o.O

thats not ideal from a database development point of view....but all is good now, Seibs has the backup issue taken cared of.

too many of us lost too much exp to make playing again worth it. i too would rather start over then playing for weeks to not get back to where i was.

I have Thundercracker on my team and Pulsar has Skywarp on hers. Which have been on our teams for many months.
