I don't know if I agree with the former but I certainly agree with the later. To portray something realistically you should show the bad with the good, I found Bays portayal of the US Military rather onesided.

Yours AK
That isn't wholly his decision. In order to get DoD approval and assistance, he must show the military in a favorable light. Otherwise, he can't use military personel or equipment at all.

The movie did need a lot of military involvement, and if you think about it it makes sense to use real military vehicles, bunkers, aircraft and such, because it looks real for one and saves money rather than using all CGI or making or dressing up prop replica vehicles and aircraft. However, I'm sure the stuff they blew up was fake.
Glasses guy's name is Zack Ward. He's a really nice guy, I met him on a music video a long while back. He has RED hair, not blonde and he did die from the Scorpy attack. If I remember right, they went to check up on him, he uttered some last words and died or he was already dead.
I don't see why Bay pussed out on including Arcee. They could've had her protoform come down and scan a motorcycle, not much explanation needed. I think it would've been awesome for her and Josh Duhamel's character to take out Brawl (i think?) with that slide and shoot manuever. Terminator 3 had a wicked female robot (albeit a cyborg) so no excuses Bay.

I may miss some details. Or the cinema may have cut out those short scenes. Dam cinema!

Anyway, several pairs of eyes can't be wrong. :)

I am mainly convinced the guy with the glasses died (as i have only seen the movie once) because these scene really stuck out for me. Usually the black guy always dies first, and i distinctly rembered the guy with the glasses due to his comical response to the radio tower falling over behind him.

So when i saw him killed by scorpie, by being impaled, i was like "WOAH! The black guy didnt die first for once, but instead it was the nerdy looking white guy!"

Exactly. What's really interesting is the the "black guy" doesn't get killed at all. He survives the entire movie. The ones who got killed were the guys played by real-life Navy SEALs.

Instead, they killed the black Transformer. :P

In the end, a black dude did die.

The world is changing. Black human don't die first anymore.

But for Cybertronians, they're just beginning to enter the age of equality. It's like the 70s for the Cybertronians. Only black dude (Jazz) dies.

I think it was more of trimming down to a limited number of characters.

I can't think of who to sacrifice among the 5 major Autobots characters, for Arcee to get in.

Maybe that's why Arcee was eventually dropped.

Weapon: Gattling Gun
The hacker plot was forced, I'm sure on any Government installation (much like most of corporate America) they have group policies in active directory to disable removable storage devices similar to the one the girl used to take information off-site to prevent exactly that type of thing from happening. Having Anthony Anderson figure it out didnt advance the story in anyway, this could have easily been done by one of the trained experts working there and achieve the same end result. Also it is hard to believe that sector seven could have existed for so long in secret with agents like that running it or working for it ... and to believe they are the ones that reverse engineered megatron to create the technological marvels that we enjoy today, but are unable to work a shortwave radio is a bit much to ask. Consistency, this movie lacks it.

Agreed. IMO the hackers were just a waste of space in the movie, and every time they came on I was waiting for their scenes to end so we could get back to the robots. I liked S7, the military part was necessary, but the hackers were just superfluous, and both of them were annoying characters to boot.

The Tfs could see the Cybertronian engravings in the glass. I think the more valid question is: Why didn't any of the dozens of humans who probably handled them over the last century notice such engravings?

Because the lenses were scratched and cracked. They most likely thought the engravings were part of the damage to the glass.

Besides, it was Prime's holographic projector that was able to scan and enlarge the images. The human eye might not be able to even see them on the glass. Either way, it's just a piece of the story. If we delve too deep into it, it'll just make our brains hurt.

The engravings are only visible to autobots, naked human eyes cant see them.

As for how they knew they was on there....that is indeed a mystery.

No, the governemt guys wouldn't have thought about it. They aren't very imaginative, Hackers are. They think outside the box, Governemt guys usually don't. If you remember, Maggie saw something in the signal that no one else saw, and theoriezed what it was, but no one believed her. That is typicla government employee behavior. Thus, she took it to someone who would indeed be curious enough to look for the real answer, and open enough to any possibility—a hacker.

I think they figured it out from the ebay picture. When the decepticons were scanning the web page, they showed them focusing on the lenses for a bit.

Anywho. I didn't mind the pee joke. My kids thought it was hillarious. I'm suprised, though, nobody brought up that maybe they didn't exactly know how to properly interact with humans, such as when they were transforming in Sam's back yard, so perhaps this was one of those moments. After all, Sam told them when the dog did it it was what was done to determine dominance....he didn't exactly specify that humans didn't do that to each other.

But yeah, look for a meaningful logic reguarding anything in this movie, & your head will be spinnig for months. I mean, how are the succeptable to cold yet can fly through space with no problems? Yeah, logic problems all over the place.

Well, they did have a ship, they just didn't land it. It remained somewhere in orbit, possibly on the dark side of the moon. They simply use their protoforms' re-entry modes for entry into a planet's atmoshphere. The prequel novel specifically mentions their ship, and its name. Unfortunately, I don't know what that name is.

If she left her cell phone on, her position could be triangulated and if she made any calls they may have been traced. Plus, I'm sure there are dozens of cameras within a 10 miles radius of the pentagon -- so they'd have a good idea of what direction she went.

*DING DING DING* We have a winnah!

It's ridiculous and it ruins it for the rest of us. Forget the ridicule from outsiders for a moment, it's irritating "I could see, but I'm not willing to open my eyes or use my common sense" attitudes that are one of the biggest problems out there. The other is, when they do this nitpick, nitpick, nitpick...they not only bore us, but they ruin everything. It's like telling a simple, but hilarious joke and explaining the punchline because the person you're telling it to is dumber than a post, and stupid is levels above them, so to speak.

I'm sick and tired of it, and again I say...FANS RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE.
