The reason they don't do that on the Marlins boards often is because the RedSox aren't in the same division. Or else they'll be running their mouths there all the time. Their current owner left the Marlins practically quiting on the Marlins. Yes I'm a Marlins fan. I have my reasons not to be fond of him. We've had some luck with bad cheap ownership too. Many Boston fans annoy the heck out of me. No question many of them are in the same league as NewYork. It be great if Colorado gives them a reality check. Besides I'm also tired of seeing an American league team winning the world series almost everytime. Well Colorado needs to regroup ,and win the second ws game to have a chance.

Yup, Go Sox. I KNEW they would pull this off. No way was Beckett losing and no way was Cleveland winning in Fenway.

I agree. Beckett is a litle full of himself. But then again, I probably would be too if I was WS MVP at 23.

The Redsox really got lucky they were in the brink of elimination being down 3-1. Beckett bailed you out. He did the same thing when the Marlins were down 3-1 to the Cubs in the 2003 NLCS. I thought the indians were going ,and not the redsox. Honestly I wish Loria haven't given him and Lowell away to Boston. I was aware of their great potential. Yeah Beckett was like that even with the Marlins. His ego has gotten to him a bit more now since he's has been winning with the Redsox. But who the heck wouldn't like to have him on their team. The same goes for Lowell. Lowell is cooler on the attitude though. Unless the Redsox showboating rubs off on him later. Wish I hope not.

There's alot of transplanted NewYorkers where I live and don't support the teams much ,and they dress up their children in newyork gear. Many of them troll over the net and trash the florida teams on the sites. I'm not fond of NewYork either. There are also some other big city sports fans I'm not too fond of. But both Boston and NewYork up make the top list. Every fanbase has their share of them. But unfortunately Boston and NewYork are the worse in my opinion.

This is bad humor. Being a Yankee fan, you should be well aare of how hated your fan base is and how many mega assholes your fanbase has. Like any popular team, we get our share of trouble makers and fair weather fans jumping on the bus. Like, I realy do not understad how there can be THAT many NY and Boston fans in Flordia. Maybe if the people down there supported their own damn teams, ownerships there would have a reason to give a damn and sink some money in.

As for the Red Sox "showboating", it is pretty much just Manny. And you know what, if you know Manny at al, he probably does not even understand and/or cannot comprehend why or how that is wrong. The dude lives in a world of his own. Unlike the showboatin by guys like Sheff, Manny's is not meant to be malicious. Does that make it right? No. However, I do not have an issue with it. If one of the top 10 hitters of modern baseball wants to take his time going around the bases, I can live with it.

Anyway, was a great game tonight. What the Rockies have done this season is nothing short of remarabe. However, I think the combination of Fenway, the layof, and the Sox star power might just be too much for them to handle.

Can't wait for Saturday. I think Daisuke will be nasty. He has shown himself to be streaky. I think his last start might have ended the bad starts streak, well, hopefully.

Always fun to watch Papi play first.

P.S. I consider the fans who post on public sites liek ESPN to be the lowest of all fan bases and not indicative of a fan base in general. There main purpose appears to be to talk trash about other teams and fan bases for the sake of talking trash. Also, disliking a city or team due to your perception of its fanbase is, frankly, pretty idiotic and has nothing to do with sports. So why don't we be adults and sportsfans and keep that type of tak out of this thread, which is supposed to be about baseball, not what some idiot troll on an ignorant public board is posting.

I wouldn't count the Rockies out just yet. You saw what happened what SD made that mistake. Hopefully Hoffman will be remembered for better things that this season.

The combination of the thin air and the humidor balls might have an adverse effect on the Sox pitchers, especially for the ones like Daisuke for whom the off speed stuff is so vital.

Not tomention the Rocks are something like 48-15 at home. Still. It is a tall order now. They HAVE to sweep at home as you gotta figure game 5 is an auto win for the Sox and Beckett. 3 at home at it will come down to a game 7 against Daisuke, and who knows which Matsuzaka shows up. :???:

He really bugs me in that he is so freaking lights out. Yet one little thing on the field not go his way and he just unravels. So many times this season I have seen him get a bad call ball from the ump and then just proceed to wig out and walk the next 2. Very frustrating to watch.

Colorado needs to seriously win game 3 or else they'll be down 3-0. Colorado also got to make sure they win game 4 ,and 5 at home as well. Then when Colorado goes back to Boston they need just one more win. But it looks doubtful. Both Beckett and Schilling have been unhittable almost. Looks at the moment like Boston is going to win the series in 4 or 5 games. Unless Colorado has something to say about it.

Right here. I actually had started up a thread during spring training but noone ever posted.

Well, the Sox winning turned out to be a little anti climactic considering how the series has gone so far. It is a good feeling though seeing a team you followed the whole year going all the way.

Wheeljack, you know what I'm talking abut. You Yankee fans should have been plenty used to that with your sweeps in the 90s.

Well Props to the Rockies for their historic run, and ARod is now officially a big douche for 2 reasons:

Making the announcement during the WS.

Not even bothering to meet with the Yanks face to face to turn down their very generous offer.

I can't imagine how incensed the Yanks and their fans must be. I am a sox fan and feel that he pulled a pretty low move.... I really really hope Theo resigns Lowell and doesn't give ARod the time of day. I fear the worst though.

I'm just saying, I'd rather have Lowell's stand up attitude and Schilling's loud mouth and tired arm over the best player in BB any day. How sad is that?

How awesome would it be if noone went after ARod hard and he had to "settle" for 20m a year. Not happenning, but still, a pleasant thought.

4 months with no BB, oh what will I do? I always feel liek an orphaned child during the off season. One Pats game a week really doesn't quite fill the void.

Actualy, maybe that is the way with the band wagon jumpers in other states. But to be hinest, if you were actually in Boston where the reall Sox fans live, I think you would find things to be different. Sure, the Yanks are the all time evil empire courtesy of Georgie boy. However, the Sox are nipping on their heels for that title.

Besides, being a Sox fan would not be half as fun if it wasn't for them damn yanks. I'm sure a lot of Yanks feel the same way to. I'd rather us be battling the Yanks for 8 months str8 every year, than wiping our feet on the division the way the Pats do with theirs. Makes for a much more fun season.

I'm excited for the future though. I'm hoping to see a mess of games with Bucholz dueling it out with Hughes for years to come the way Pedro did with Clemens back in the day. Good times!

LOL, and now that postseason's over and we have the trophy, maybe we could allow ourselves a little "Partay Time" eh? :P

and A-Rod...from what he did he looked a little like the MLB's version of Kobe Bryant. i hope no team gunning for next year's World Series will ever take him. though there are some team owners who would like the extra attention (and ticket sales) generated in having a star pro like him on their team.

:MAX:

Where were you people last year after the Yanks swept 5 from the Sux in Fenway?

Your team gave up and your mgmt gave up by trading David Wells away while your guys were only a few games back

I never want to hear a Red Sux fan talk big until Varitek has as many World Series rings as Derek Jeter which is 4

Oh yeah Varitek must do it all as a Red Sux player and not be traded or leave via free agency

Wow, this thread is becomign the epitomy of all that is foul with baseball and its fans and the reason why the rest of america hates the east coast teams. This is why I never get invloved with talking baseball online.

I'll be sticking with the toys forum. Ya'll have fun insulting each other.

a sweep is not the same as a choke. and our choke did not result in our not going to the world series
