It is possible to enjoy the movie and not like everything about it. I certainly don't think the movie is 100% perfect or flawless. You accept the "product" for what it is and have fun with it from there. I learned to accept and love many elements of the movie.

While I still think Megatron looks like ass, I appreciate the changes they made to Megatron after the initial pictures leaked. While it's not how I pictured Megatron, the end product is most certainly better than last year's leaked pics. I liked Megs voice and some of his lines so even he won me over on a few points.

The biggest problem with the Transformers franchise is that the characters have had so many different incarnations. Megatron has only looked like his G1 self in a few instances whereas Optimus Prime has looked like his G1 self most of the time. Put yourself in the movie folks' shoes. Look at all of the varying opinions of fans. There's many of you who still think Beast Wars sucks which absolutely baffles me. If we can't agree on that about Beast Wars, how in the world do you expect the movie folks to come up with a movie that "pleases" all of the fans? It's impossible.

Enjoy the movie for what it is. Life is a lot more fun if you learn to accept the things that you can't change.

Only thing one would mention...is maybe micheal expanding
the scenes a little more...a little more space to savour the
the battle scenes. Jetfire would be a nice character for the sequel. As for a jet? Who knows...f22 doesn't seem to fit em.
As long as it's a fighter,not a cargo jet...no negatives on
galaxy/cybertron series.

Once again. What is this "Bayformers" you speak of?

Bayformers was the rubbish I was subjected to for 2 hours. The bad comedy, and weak plot. Again? THE BAD COMEDY AND WEAK PLOT. Film was BAD, B.A.D....BAD. BAY IS A RUBBISH DIRECTOR WHO GETS TROUNCED BY CRITICS WHO KNOW ABOUT THE ART OF MAKING FILM.

Oh, well that sucks for you. Let me tell you about this movie called Transformers. It was really cool, a lot of people like it, and its make over 400 million dollars worldwide. It clocks in at 2and a halh hours but you never really notice.

I do really miss the original movie,with the heavy metal..and
well not formilized. When I was watching the movie, part
of me was saying...I reminising about the original. This comment may or may not get me into trouble...but sincere honesty. Have spielberg on and have somebody who would
look to what transformers really is.

Something that isn't so cut and dry..highlights of a characters
triats don't cut it when it comes to a movie. Trying to be
trendy,possibly to make it fit...doesn't necessarily do good.

If there is a sequel...bring back the metal,maybe stan bush
doing the score. Redo the whole thing. Not saying I didn't enjoy it for what it is,but....entertain and please the people,
give them the depth,and fun,quality the original was. grim.

Conceptron, Contraception, Starscreams bad comedy, all the same!

When the movie designs leaked I was pissed as hell, hated Starscream and Megs. I vowed I would not darken the door of the movie theater to see the awful pile of crap I feared the movie would be.

I went openning night expecting the worst. I've allways been a HARDCORE geewunner. But I came to accept that if I ever wanted to see a live-action Transformer movie in theaters, this was going to be it.

There were some plot holes. There was some cheesy comedy and dialogue. I still hate what they did to my Starscream.

But I loved this movie! Good thing I decided to have an open mind and go see for myself, and not listen to the morons that screamed for two years that this movie was gonna suck! Now that the movie IS a success, both critically AND financially, these people that told us for years that is was going to suck can't possibly admit that it doesn't suck and change their tune because it might hurt their pride.

GET OVER IT. If you admit the movie was good, or even that it wasn't as bad as you swore it was gonna be, I won't point fingers and say "Na-Na!", I'll welcome you back to the family! This is just another incarnation of TF, like G2, BeastWars, Cybertron, ect.. If you can accept those versions, why not this one? Because it's not animated?


I happen to like Bay's mindless popcorn flicks. I'd like to see this "Bayformers" I've heard about. I bet it would rock!

What the hell is an actual Transformers movie? Since when was Transformers anything BUT entertainment and big robots blowing **** up? Transformers will never be a work of Oscar Wilde or HG Wells, stop the intellectual wankage and just accept this one fact - every single person on this board is a fan of an entertainment franchise directed at kids and young men below 20.

What is so deep about Transformers? what is the 'actual subject matter'? Nothing. It's straightforward, fun, and action packed. That's all there is to it. As long as all incarnations of the series achieves this, it gets the green light.

Bay's movie was brainless, fun, and had big robots blowing **** up. Aaahhh... just the way I like it. THIS is Transformers, its very essence. Anyone who says otherwise is insulting the Transformers of this universe and all other universes. Take away all the Allspark, Energon, Unicron Singularity, Primus, blah blah, and in the end you get the same formula again: big robots fighting. Unless you want to go back to the spastic fights in the G1 cartoons, find something legitimate to criticize about this movie (I wanted less human characters). Want a deeper movie? Watch The Lover or Pan's Labyrinth. And guys, stop feeding the troll with a messiah complex.

Just to play devil's advocate here, wing0hero, Conceptron is more than welcome to be here on our doorstep. He's more than welcome to come inside as well and share his point of views. He has every right to be here on Seibertron.com regardless of his views clash with others.

Maybe replyers should be less bitchy ourselves, but when someone comes and tells people what true fans are and continually posts ad hominem arguments, it's quite easy to return the fire. Should responders be more civil? Definitely.

He does have some what of a point. We all know the primary focus of the movie was more on the humans than the Autobots. It was also very much an action movie with very little character developement. In 2.5hours you barely got to know the characters at all. Unless you are a long time fan I could see people having very little feeling for the death of Jazz. As such while poorly worded his argument is fair.

Heck even me a long time fan and one that gives Jazz some preferencial treatment didn't have much feeling for his death. Prime summed it up pretty well with his rather cold "Aw, poor Jazz." Really what are we supposed to be feeling for a character with less than 10 minutes screen time and about 4-5 lines of dialogue.

The movie was far from perfect. To even suggest it was perfect is simply ignoring the truth. Was it fun to watch? Heck yea.

Yeah that was my main complaint. Too many humans, not enough characterizations of the Decepticons and the Autobots. Still, does this warrant going off on a rant against anyone who liked the movie? Sheesh.

Nevertheless, they should have taken out those teenage clowns who were working with the government to decode the Cybertronian frequencies. Bah humbug. Did little to advance the plot imo.

I agree it is a discussio forum and I have no trouble with people voicing their opinions. What upsets me is how Conceptron in one of posts talks about how he hates the movie then says that this is the truth. It's not the truth just an opinion. That just shows a high level of arrogance to me like he isn't even willing to listen to other people opinions.

That and the term "Bayformers" really grinds my gears

The thing is, most people respect his opinion and those who share his opinion.

The problem is, the majority of those who disliked the movie seem unable to accept the opinions of those that DO like the movie and as such feel it is their job to "educate" the "false" fans as to why this movie wasn't Transformers.

And I think it's safe to say, people are sick of the "true fans" (as some have labelled themselves) trying to "educate" them.

Respecting a person's opinion works two ways as far as i'm concerned.
