Why would they make a high profile monster movie by utilizing the "persons perspective" with the camcorder?

Whetever this "monster" is it has to be mechanical. Those things it fires into the air like missiles make me think this. If it was a monster then it could only i dunno, shoot out a fireball like Godzilla or a stupid beam of light like Gamara. These however get launched into the air, and then after a certain altitude they have a secondary firing stage, like a large firework, where they explode and split up into more smaller projectiles, which then as we see impact the buildings in the trailer.

Not to mention the fact that when they are flying through the air, you can hear the sound of some sort of propulsion system, like a rocket or as i already said a type of missile.

Its mechanical in at least some form.

I'm not saying that it's mechanical or not but those things that flew into the air didn't at look at all like missiles to me. They just looked like shrapnel from the large explosion. The sound they make wasn't a propulsion system, it was the sound any fire makes in the wind. Just my opinion though.

If it was just debris then how comes they all explode at the same time in mid air and seperate?

I think everyone is looking into this waaaay too much and besides, wasnt there a transformers movie out sometime soon or something?

Personally I think that "face" is somebody's back or rumpled clothes.

I think the handheld camera perspective of this film is a gimmick to downplay the trailer I dont think the film is gonna be entirely produced this way,I think its a smoke screen that JJ Abrams is using to gather interest for the film,but thats my opinion.

I like the first person POV. Even though it's used in Blair Witch, I like that perspective for the documentary look.

In anycase, I love the hype and seeing all the theories out there.

Now, Arthur Conin Doyle wrote a novel entitled "The Parasite"

There is a random theory that this is the Rampage movie. Apparently, the IMDB Rampage site was available for viewing before, but now, you can only see it with IMDB pro(whatever the hell that is). Supposedly, it was due out in 08', and the details of it were also kept extemely secret. The Slusho connection is one of the guys in the trailer at the party has on a Slusho T-shirt. There is a website that explains some things about the whole Slusho thing. It's a drink that some company made from some ingredient they found at the bottom of the ocean, frozen in ice, and it seems to do strange things to people. If i recall correctly, the people in Rampage drank some sort of soda and accidentally became those monsters.

There is also a theory that this movie is about some religious thing, somthing to do with revelations or somthing. This states that there are three monsters, Behemoth:the land monster, Leviathan: the sea monster that breaths fire, and Ziz: the monster of the sky. What this theory states is that, the first roar is accompanied by an earthquake(Behemoth), the second is the fireballs with the roar(Leviathan), and the third is the head of the statue O.L. being flung from the sky(Ziz). There is a bit more to it with the number 3 all over the place.

Both theories sound pretty cool, but, personally, i like the Rampage one the best, but who the hell knows, besides that Abrahms dude?
