I wnet a itlle overborad with Ak, but i realzied that we both have diferent opinions and let´s leave it at that.

I don't think any new members should feel responsible for the leavings of older members. Some people just don't like change...or having to essentially teach 50+ people posting ettiquete or having new members who just don't care and will do what they want when they want because of "free speech" and generall make everyon'e experience here misserable.

Most of the people as I've seen have come and gone. The people who are serious seemed to have stayed and we welcome you with open arms.

I've got to say, the reason I don't post at the forums on a regular basis is that the arguing really puts me off coming here. And it's ashame really, because I love Transformers as much as the rest of you guys. :/
It's too bad a few can ruin it for the majority.

Like what Nemesis Optronix said, I don't think I've offended anybody, and no one has offended me. So, I guess I'm ignorant then... lol

What I don't like about the recent arguement problems is that it decreases our opportunity to share our opinions. I always feel like I have to say "this is just my opinion" when it's fairly obvious that it is my opinion. I realize some people are a little touchy (becuase I am too) when they feel like they're under attack, but really now, do we need to be this sensative?
Everyone in the world trashes Titanium Soundwave, and I like him warts and all. But, I don't like Bumblebee. I've hated BB for 20 + years (G1er in the house) and I gave him another chance with the movie. I like the movie a lot, and I like movie BB. But I found 08 BB at Target a few weeks ago and I hate him. I do not like this figure at all. Longarm too. So I made mention of how I dislike 08 BB and Longarm and you would have thought I ate someones' cat. "What do you mean?" "He's the best figure ever!" "Godless commie!!" "How can you POSSIBLY not like this figure???? I love it, therefor everyone must!!" Well, how can you not like Titanium Soundwave? It's just my opinion. I don't understand why people keep their toys MISB, or buy two of each, or MUST have figures to scale, but so what? I collect becuase I enjoy the hobby and I love the toys and characters.

I hate to bring up the movie bringing in new fans/collectors/board members becuase that's shallow, but really, if you have 1 post or 1,000,000 posts and have been here from the first day or yesterday, so what? You are not the authority on TFs or collecting or whatever. Just enjoy the hobby and let's not get all riled up at someones' opinion. As far as the newer members go, I think Seibertron just has some interesting personalities and some of the newer dudes need to learn when people are joking. Hell, sometimes we're all guilty of taking things out of context, but if you've been here for a year or so, you kind of figure out where others are coming from.

I've always wondered about this, too. I mean, it's obviously my opinion if I've said it and most posters are talking as themselves. People don't normally stick disclaimers at the end of their posts saying, "The views and opinions expressed in this post are not personal and do represent the positions and policies of a vast number of people or organisation."

I think some people are just getting too defensive, and so we all have to be more apologetic. Look at the Philosopher's Forum, a place which existed just for the exchange of ideas and opinions. Why do I have to be extra careful when I give my opinion when some other people will tread on what I say? But I should be careful with what I say?? If you have to apologise every time you give an opinion, then why bother? Why not just have someone post a thread reading "Movie Longarm #1 forever!!" and we'll all go in and post "Yes.", and then we'll watch this board go down in flames. Flames of boredom.

Posters shouldn't have to apologise when offering opinions. They should be apologising when they're rude, crass, tactless or offensive in their manner of expression.

Just an impression, but I think a lot of peopl just need to realize were aren't here to bash each other heads in defending our opinions and dragging personal vendettas into every thread just to prove that someone was right about some trivial thing that really doesn't matter at the end of the day. This isn't a pumping station to enflate your ego.

Even if you do prove beyond a doubt that purple is better then green, will anyone really care? No. They'll forget your arguement and forever label you as a jerk, which no doubt will cause later problems.

Honestly, latly I feel like I'm becoming a school counselor. There shouldn't be a person here under 13 so as older member we should all set the example and show the new members how to do it so we all have fun.

I think we need to host a semenar on the importance of Tact and Civility. Or a debate class.

No, seriously, I didn't know things were that bad in the rest of the forums. I was in the Phils forum when it got locked down. I think that I had the last post(aside from Sir Seibs), but I'm not sure.

I expected the Phils forum to get a reality check, but it's been like at least two weeks, so I dunno.

I have enjoyed this site for quite a while. I lurked for about six months before I became a member. Things were different BND (Back N Day), but hey, you can't live in the past.

I welcome new members and new opinions.

I'm sure things will settle down. Like I said, I didn't even know there were problems in other forums, but I was also pretty deeply engaged in the Phils forum when the Sh!t hit the fan.
