umm guys the fallen should be expected to gush out flames after all he was always on fir in the "war within volume 2 the dark ages" ALSO in the commercial he appears in a blazing warp(just like the comic BAY IS DOIN IT RIGHT) in the middle of that desert camp. Member hes the skraggly black thing. Also i feel were gonna get a glimpse of Primus & Unicron through a history flash back. It makes sense right. THE FALLEN allegiance is to Unicron & Primus kills THE FALLEN at the end of the comic. FEEDBACK APPRECIATED

Re: First Rendering of The Fallen and Devastator
So let me get this straight. They changed the designs of the Transformers so they wouldn't be so bulky and blocky and would look more mobile then said blocky designs... then they come up with Devistator who is quite possible the most bulky Transformer I have EVER seen. He makes Animated Bulkhead look anerexic.
I really do not understand their reasoning behind these designs. They've said they didn't want any mass shifting because it wasn't realistic yet they make designs that can't realisticly transform at all and the AllSpark mass shifted when it transformed from a GIANT cube into... big dramtic pause... a smaller cube!
They didn't want the old bulky blocky deigns because they didn't look mobile enough to possibly be any use in battle and they replaced them with designs that are so exsposed internally to be any possible use in battle. And now they've created the fattest Transformer ever.

As far as mass shifting goes, That call was made not to alienate viewers who are newer to the francise, who would question it instead of just acept that we have acepted since kids and couldn't care less if the science isn't there or hard to explain.
As far as the allspark goes, seeing that in the bayverse, the thing seems to be Vector Sigma, the Matrix and anyother TF mystical objects rolled into one, you can't expect any practical rules to be applied due to it's super Mcguffen status.

does Devastator have an alt mode. Will it transform into some something, or can it transform into more than one thing - e.g a submarine and then a plane.

devestator is a combiner,a transformer that is made up of a bunch of smaller transformers.
the smaller transformers have an alt.mode(the constructicons become construction equipment),but the big combined mode has no alt.mode except for the smaller robots

See, that's one of the first things I noticed about the whole movie lineup back before the first Bay movie. The G1, G2, and really, a lot of the other series looked more armored. More like a knight suited for battle. These new ones are a bit of armor here, a bit of armor there. Like, let's hope they don't get hit right in the middle of the body. You know, like Jazz did. Oh, and Bumblebee. Now don't call me a hypocrite from my previous posts, because I still think that way, I just agreed with what Saber wrote. That's all...

Re: First Rendering of The Fallen and Devastator
1) The Fallen looks great. It mixes all the elements of the comics Fallen character + the decepticon symbol + egyptian folklore in a single robot that happens to transform into an amazing cybertronian jet. I can't wait to put a light behind it and watch it as if lava were flowing inside.
2) Devastator: DO NOT LIKE. The head is too big. Every other transformer in this universe has a small head. Devastator has a barrel for a head, and it looks unimpressive. But i'm even more let down by the toy's pictures.
I'm sorry, but I won't buy a giant robot that is made of vehicles only. That is fine for Voltron or the Power Rangers. I see little articulation on the vehicles, and that make them rather uninteresting toys from my point of view. Devastator looks better assembled as a toy, but the fun will probably wear out once you've assembled it a couple of times. Then you'll have a multicolored gorilla crouching on your desk and you'll have nowhere to put it.
On the other hand, if the deluxes were able to combine, i'd buy all of them. But seeing them on their own, i'd probably just get Rampage (the bulldozer), Scrapper (the forklift) and Hightower (the crane).
The Steam Shovel -Demolisher-, although impressive, doesn't transform into a real robot. It becomes some thing with wheels. Long Haul doesn't actually looks as impressive as its original design.
Of course that they will look awesome on the movie. But, being reallistic, the movie is made to sell toys. The original (G1) Devastator was made of robots that transformed into vehicles AND merged into a gestalt ! If i don't get that now, i won't open my wallet, and i'd rather invest on an original devastator.

Re: First Rendering of The Fallen and Devastator
Whew, just read through all 10 pages of this. Lotsa opinions, some vitriol, overall not bad.
I like both of the new designs, the alien feel of the Fallen makes him a lot more scary to me, especially if his movements vary between slowly graceful and terrifyingly fast (kinda feline motion). I generally feel he is needless as a character, but hey we don't know what they plan on doing yet, so I'm game.
I like the idea that Devestator is a massive hulking brute. The multi-colored thing only applies if all the construction equipment is made by the same company, as different companies use different colors...get over it. The head on the end of a big telescoping neck I am ok with. I wish the face had more to distinguish it, right now all I see are some green blobs in a metal frame. I will say that the toy head worked better for me. I could entirely see him being able to stand up as he is in the toy, but when running pell-mell he leans forward into that loping shape we see in the CG model.
