In just trying to get my head around the confusion. You obviosuly do not know how much work and time I have put in over the last 6 months to try and settle this problem, and considering I have at times been the only member of the clan command who has persistently given the staff here the benefit of the doubt when so many have just left, im a little insulted at how little you have learned about this community in your 6 months as a member.

High Command can say whatever he wants, but what business does any form or sexuality have being in a sig on a TRANSFORMERS fan site?

And just so we can get this outta the way, Before Carly is a part of the site that you must access to see the pics. And if Im not mistaken you cant get to it from the homepage anymore anyway. Sigs pop up throughout the site. Some places of business and some people do not share the same liberal views that we do. So unless you want to see certain things here, you shouldn't see them at all. For the record I liked HC's sig, Willow's hot, but if we get complaints on it, we have to act.

The stigma with this RDD hate syndrome can stop. It has to start somewhere. Why not you?

How exactly is a PG13 theme of 2 lesbians kissing inappropriate for a PG13 site then? It sounds to me like a case of homophobia. And for me I'd rather not mix small mindedness and the internet. They're flawless and upstanding people. Mod's the word after all.

Personally, I would allow it, but we must consider SEIBERTRON as a whole. Im sure you can understand this even if you dont agree with it. We're not trying to be jerks, and with the stigma of RDD hate that you sense, we Mods feel that we get bum raps for being to harsh when I believe we're very lenient.

It wasn't about sexuality, it was about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I currently have a picture of the character Mindset as a sig - is my sig then about mindless genocide? I would also like to point out several of the ads running on the site - for flirting and dating services. Those would fly just as well as some of the questionable signitures would in a place of business, or in the eyes of concerned parents. Can we expect those to be taken down too? If you want a pertinent example of how to stop the 'hate syndrome', why not start with how Caelus' resignation post contains FALSE information about things happening yesterday, which paints the RDD in a negative light through FALSEHOOD. I have contacted him about this, and also Mkall and Fender Bender, and know for a fact that all of them have at least read what I have said explaining it. So we have three members of staff who are aware of this, and it is still out there for others to be decieved by it, and turned against us (and against me particularly, as it's a false allegation against me) simply through negligence, assumption and the distortion of truth.

No one can claim leniency when the guidelines for discipline which Cyber Bishop, the forum administrator, has laid down are ignored. In all my dealings with the staff, I have been privy to these actually being used. I stand on two official warnings, which places me one warning away from a three-day ban. After that, three more warnings would result in a week-long ban. A final two would see me permanently banned from the site. These rules can be found here. I would also point out the fact that Cyber Bishop has blatantly stated in that announcement that warnings regarding sig violations do not count towards a ban. So I'm on two warnings, 2/3 of the way to a three-day ban and 1/4 of the way to being permanently banned. Where did High Command fit into all of this? Well, he had no warnings. That's not leniency. I'm not questioning the action any more, as I know that's a stupid idea, and I don't like poking bears in any state of slumber. I'm merely pointing out that it is not leniency, so please don't claim it to be.

High Command DID comply and he DID change his signature to something less offensive. However apparently two women expressing their love for each other is not allowed here. Which is still going to fall into one of two categories: Either A) The Staff here at Seibertron.com are homophobic and therefore do not want gay people referenced/posting here, OR B) The Staff Member(S) that banned High Command did so for other reasons and simply used this as an excuse. Now mind you either way isn't very professional. And I might be wrong but this is how this appears to me.

As far as people getting offended over the sig, how about this: right click, block image. It's not that hard. And for "problem posters"? Find a post they made, click their name, add to enemies list, save. They're posts are now and forever (until you take them off the enemies list) filtered and you won't read anything that they post anymore. Now if that's how things were handled you wouldn't have people scratching their heads and asking the Staff why this happened.

But I'm going to let it rest, before I'm singled out as a problem poster. Because apparently once that stigmata is put on you it never goes away.

Like I told Jeep, you'll have to talk to Cyber Bishop about the situation with High Command.

And all your points are valid, save for the fact that only people who have been here on SEIBERTRON for a time would know to do that. Newcomers would not. On any given day, we have around 40+ registered users online at a time, and 300+ guests. I would like to see that number shift a little bit.

You can call us homophobes or whatever, but the fact remains that the pic was suggestive in a sexual manner and inappropriate for the boards. This is a point I will not argue anymore as Ive already stated my personal views. And the current pic was not the one in question.

EDIT: And BTW, he and I talk Buffy all the time. That pic is from an issue written by Amber Benson, the actress who plays Tara. He loves the show, he loves the characters and especially those two so sorry, he has it because he likes it.

So let me get this strait; HC is banned, the RDD has (once again) made itself a target and been forced into retreat and/or hidding, and HMW is down indefinatly?

Jeep, i believe you. But I'd have to say the timing of that whole deal was HORRIBLE. HC gets a PM to change his sig, all the sudden, everyone changes to sigs that "meet standards". Thats a little suspect and I believe Caelus thought that was what was going on. Not to mention your sig quote "Am I the only person who actually read the MPAA Guidelines?"

If you can't see Caelus's point of view on that, then I don't know what to tell you.

It's not that I don't see his point of view, it's that I don't see why no one has done anything to change his post to reflect actual fact, since it's going to carry weight regardless of its veracity.

And the sig quote came after I had been asked to remove my sig by Cyber Bishop, a request I complied with right away. If the people submitting their complaints to staff read the MPAA guidelines we'd have a lot less hassle - all of us.

I agree. I feel that a sticky instructing people on how to use the friends and foes system (I incorrectly called foes "enemies") would cut down on flamewars. Something else that should be shown is how to disable signature viewing here (by disabling it in your profile), since not everyone is going to be savvy enough to figure out Firefox and Opera. It might cut down on needless bannings and such. As things like this only serve to paint the staff itself in a negative light. Because to the outside observer that may hear about this, it would seem that High Command was banned for a signature he changed. And the content of such was something that could have been filtered by the offended parties.

Just had to comment on one thing that made me laugh out loud. People arguing that they should have the right to have lesbian suggestive sigs on a TRANSFORMERS SITE geared for people as young as 12! I'm not going to jump into any arguments here because quite frankly, I don't really visit this forum at all anymore and couldn't care less what its squabble of the day is. I just wanted to pop in and say that the staff of this site truly does care about this community and are not out to hurt anyone unless it is for a darn good reason. I know that none of you are going to believe that but oh well.

First off Im not RDD Im AWC but thats evident in my Sig. I frequent MSN alot and everyone that likes HMW wants it back especially me (and its more than just a 2 or 3 people too) The last thing I wanna see happen is HMW get shut down permanently. I know we have children on the site and know that because of that it has to stay clean but I personally never really saw a problem with HCs Sig I do know him through MSN and I dont think you would want to know his name on there if you think his sig was offensive (no im not trying to start a fight with someone with those last words) but it is sad that Caelus is leaving us I just hope that him leaving isnt going to hurt HMW or any of the HMW boards. but I do think all the faction Commanders should also have off site Forum sites it would probably keep some of the problems off of the Seibertron Boards. And I dont think the blame should all be on the RDD or any blame at all even though thats what my Autobot Instincts tell me to do

I had no part in that particular argument (although I appreciate lesbians as much as anyone else) but thinking about it from a philosophical standpoint; is homosexuality pre-programmed or something that is only developed in later life?
If its the first, then who are we to be shielding 12 year old kids from their own potential?

And people wonder why there's animosity towards the "staff". What I find funny though is for the last year or so the HMW forums have been relatively easy going and laid back (compared to the great flame wars of 03/04) and we could probably get away with only Alpha Strike as a Mod ... but then this is brought up and i'm proven wrong.
