Hasbro broke the mold when they made G1 Omega Supreme. I think he was a really big deal when he came out, sort of like when Apple unveiled their Macintosh computer. They put alot of marketing into Omega; I can only imagine the board meeting when he was presented to the stock-holders. They all must have been really excited. But it seemed like it ended up being a one-night-stand to Hasbro. The excitement and hype lasted only a short time, and they moved onto bigger. Poor Omega :(. How could they toss you aside after such a tender display of affection?

Except that Hasbro didn't make Omega Supreme. At least not the toy anyway. Hasbro licensed the toy from a company named Toybox along with Sky Lynx.

G1 Omega Supreme's track can extend across canyons like in "The God Gambit". It can also create a path over wreckage as when he was tracking the Constructicons in "The Secret of Omega Supreme". His track is electrified to shock intruders and in robot mode the white portions are impenetrable crystalline shields.

Meanwhile all other tank based Transformers don't require tracks to roll.

Are G1 Shockwave and G1 Omega Supreme the only Transformers that kept their Cybertronian modes? That's cool!

The Jumpstarters/Wreckers Topspin and Twin Twist did too. One could argue Jetfire did as well as he never adopted an Earth Jet form in the cartoon.

I only counted the first two years, as anything past practically was until 1988/1989.

How can you keep telling us G1 is the best when you are clearly lacking a lot of knowledge of it?

If you don't know G1 that well ... then you clearly know nothing of other continuities and are really hurting yourself by not exploring.

Huh, I never realized it, but yeah they do bear a vague resemblance to the Technobots:

Image

Anyway, the Powerdashers were mail-away only figures back in the day(along with the also pictured Omnibots), never made a cartoon appearance, and a throwaway appearance in Dreamwave comics. Apparently they appeared in IDW comics, but I haven't read those.

Like a lot of early G1 they started out in the Diaclone line, hence the little seats that are very clearly seen in their alt. modes. Oh, and they all have pull back motors.

That's an interesting re-color of Cybertron Menasor, wouldn't be that hard to custom either....a lil head swap with Energon O.S., a drab with the paint brush...

I like Menasor because he got his stick taken away from him by G1 Omega Supreme and got beaten with it. Imagine what Omega could have done to Bruticus considering Menasor destroyed Bruticus.

I think using Cybertron Menasor as model works out, even if the "arms are switched":

Why do people like these blatant hacks and rip-offs instead of the original G1 Omega Supreme? It's his design.

It's not a rip-off if it's by the same company ;)

And I like Cybertron Menasor aka GF Mole Dive because of his simplicity. He's not based on Omega Supreme at all if you must know, but the designs he does have, work into turning him into Omega without much effort.

Omega Doom took out the psychopathic Alpha Trion with a single cannon blast, disabled Abominus with a single eye beam, and almost destroyed the whole of planet Cybertron and its entire solar system with his starkiller missile fired straight at Cybertron's sun.

It took divine intervention from a god-empowered combiner divebombing him from the sun to take him down.

By comparison, Omega Supreme's hardly impressive.
