...and NOTHING'S changed, really. :-D

I was half-afraid I'd be returning to "HMW 2.0" with a conquest map, resource battles, E-sports sponsorships and whatnot. Instead it's like I never left. Well, on the plus side, I guess this also means I haven't missed anything too important.

Though I'm a little surprised there hasn't at least been any new mission texts added... :???:

Yeah, gave that a quick glance; no helicopter or sea creature alts and no desire to reformat any of my team at the moment. Wake me when the round for Medium Vehicles and Battle Stations gets here, I'll be glad to end up providing the other side with points...

Heh. Seriously, though. I probably wouldn't have come back if Jack hadn't sent me a PM that actually reminded me about the game - something that I could play through my tablet's browser while sitting in waiting rooms as long as there was a net connection. I've spent most of the last few years caught up in other games, moving, jobs, you know the litany, we've all recited it at some point...

On a game-wise note; anything noteworthy change? Iron still king of armors, Battle Blades still best weapon, etc?

That's like saying I miss Dynamax as well.

We all know both statements are false.

No ... you have no idea how often I wish for the ability to alter the mission texts. It's the one thing I really want fixed on the Admin Panel.

weapons and armor are both more balanced now...actually that happened 10-12 years ago...before the great reset. armor is pretty consistent w/ ran. weapons just check the damage range. low level light sabers are good. for higher levels fusion cannon once you can afford it.

And no, Battle Blades got nerfed a long while back. Dol-Lasers are no longer OP either but still decent weapons.

Problem is...

Only a couple days and I'm already starting to remember why I quit; HMW is (unintentionally, I hope) really bad about keeping lower levels down - flooding the available missions with 1-11, forcing players to consistently fight other players half-again or even twice their level (frequently being outnumbered two-, three- or even all the way up to six- or seven-to-one), leaving them unable to do enough to gain much experience towards upgrading themselves or even making enough Energon to stay repaired half the time...

Trust us it's not great on the other side when you hardly ever have competition or when you do there's so little xp to split it's hardly worth it.

At least your side can go strafing and maybe leave with a big payday.

Someday maybe we'll get the tools to rebalance things at will but for now the only solutions are to either draw back old bot players, build up the low levels and/or recruit new Bots & give them XP boosts outta level 1 so they can really compete.

I really enjoyed that whole fallen thing, and the quintession one too. I look back at those as some the best times I had on HMW. Best time being when the old fight club threads were running, back when there were 2 bots for every con...

Whatever happened to Maximal and Predicon faction? This was implemented because there were too many Autobots and it allowed Maximals and Autobots to fight each other occasionally.
