I was eyeballing that 3rd party unicron, but that transformation (amazing . . . ly complex) plus him not even being titan size... I think I'll stick with my Takara 2010 unicron even though he's pretty tiny. :-\
The price of that 3P "Unicron is still half a grand in Canadian dollars. I love Unicron but not THAT much. Plus like you, the fact that I have the Armada original and the "Amazon" remake (plus the best stand for planet mode) satisfy me aplenty.
Plus, let's be honest. It's completely pointless to have a "huge" Unicron because he will never be truly in scale with Generations figures. That is unless a government want to back and create the 8th Wonder of the World that would cost billions.

You should ask that in the right thread ---->

because here, that really off topic.

Of topic again but the relevant topic is pretty much buried. I'll go with Titan Return as the best one, but her secondary market price is absurd for some reason.
Might as well just go with the T-30 Generations original.

Was just trying to identify an autobot flyer to balance out Starscream with... Jetfire is just huge and overpriced IMHO.

"General questions about titans, Unicron and other large Transformers." Unless Windblade is a titan....
Anyway, you're not forced to get Siege Jetfire. If you bend your rules a bit, there's a huge variety of Autobots planes to choose from. Notably T-30 Generations Leader Jetfire.

So, debating between Scorponok (black Zarak?) or the Ark. Is one objectively better than the other? Thanks!

I bought the Ark. It's VERY annoying to transform because of those damn bottom panels that pop off no matter what I do. Then, there's Teletran-1 whose disks tend to fall off. Finally, the overall cheap feeling. I returned the Ark for a full refund.
I don't own Black Zarak yet but I never heard of any negative regarding the mold.
Tail-end syndrome. Some people just flat-out never saw her, and a lot of those who did passed on her, either because they were exhausted with the line or waiting for juicier things like the Weirdwolf repack or the tail-end leaders to get stocked on the shelves. I fall into the latter category, and I regret it because thanks to the spot getting clogged by shelfwarming Mega Turbo Changer Dragonstorms the Targets in my area never shelved Sky Shadow or Overlord.-Kanrabat- wrote:Mkdlmr wrote:Curious: best windblade figure?

Same. I was supposed to get him with my Metroplex, but the seller forgot to pack him in and never got around to actually shipping him.-Kanrabat- wrote:Next titan is rumored for being Cybertron Metroplex. If they succeed at improving the altmode while keeping the two robot modes, it may be quite awesome.
The original is pretty nice! I just wish I had the minicon too.
I still personally favor Titans Return Galvatron, I'm happier with his tradeoffs than I am with those made by the Kingdom figure and he has some play features I enjoy that the Kingdom figure lacks. That being said, don't get him if you end up having to pay Leader price; you may as well get Kingdom at that point.Mkdlmr wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:SS86 Hot Rod is nearly flawless and is even considered superior than the latest Masterpiece. That say a lot.
Commander Rodimus Prime is divisive because of size, price, and a design flaw in the trailer.
If you want the best bang for your bucks, SS86 all the way.
Awesome, thanks! Any thoughts on a Galvatron?
Geez, guess it's a good thing I got my SIEGE Ironhide and Ratchet when I did.-Kanrabat- wrote:Mkdlmr wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:Mkdlmr wrote:
Roger. So, who in the Autobot lineup would balance him out though?
Ultra Magnus, who else? Either Siege or Kingdom are valid. If you like him gray for reasons, there's the Netflix or Takara Premium versions.
Easy enough to get.
Really? I would have thought Wheeljack or Ratchet would offset the evil scientist that is Shockwave... Never was a big fan of Ultra Magnus...
He's still an essential part of the G1 lineup. Wheeljack will be easy enough to get, but forget about any versions of WFC Ratchet and Ironhide. Secondary market prices are nuts.
Emerje, are you trying to mess up people's toys?Emerje wrote:Mkdlmr wrote:Curious: any advice on cleaning transformers or preserving non-box packaging while opening (e.g. Micromasters packaging)? Thanks!
For cleaning, dry brushes work best. I would recommend a tooth brush and a 1" paint brush to remove dust and grime, finish with compressed air. If you have to use a liquid use isopropyl alcohol as it's plastic safe, non-reactive to metals and evaporates quickly.

Mkdlmr wrote:Darn, he'll get dusty. Thanks though!
Wife got the takara one from chosen prime on sale. Comparable to eBay prices IMHO. Our toddler loves dinos and robots, so he's going to really love him.

Dust is an unavoidable bane for toy collectors.
