Yeah after I made the previous post I remembered seeing the blue cab. But the comics did have the Siege mold. I didn't pay much attention to the toy because I didn't plan on picking it up.

I would argue the earth mode alt is worse. The Siege one was interesting and cohesive. The Kingdom one made the cab earth-y, but it does not flow and does not look cohesive. It is ugly to me, despite having the better head.

Like I said, we all have our own opinions. To me the Siege figure is decent in robot mode, and the cab in vehicle mode is hideous. It's a cheap imitation of the original. The Kingdom version is far from perfect, but to me it's a bit more visually pleasing, and the white on the cab seems to be cleaned and crisper.

I too found the can on the Kingdom version more cohesive with what they were attempting (Earth alt mode). The robot mode chest and deco really tipped the scales though. While I get people preferring the Siege version, I couldn't justify having both in my collection and only kept the Kingdom version.

I ordered two of SG Ultra Magnus. I'll be using him for FOUR different identities, but couldn't justify buying more than two given how expensive the toy already is. One will be used as SG Ultra Magnus proper with the skull head, and the other will alternate between being Delta Magnus (cab and trailer combined super robot) and being split between Magna Convoy (cab robot by itself) and a super mode for the Tenseg Base Optimus Prime redeco (that cab combined with this trailer).

I have virtually every version of WFC Magnus, minus the premium version. Just too much money. I got two SG version for Powered Convoy / Delta Magnus. It's a bit on the nose, of course.

That figure isn't great, but it really grew on me. I have all of the mold uses (or will when Pulse ships the SG and Tenseg figures). The Earthrise mold isn't that bad, I prefer the square shoulder pylons, head, missiles and truck cab over the Siege mold, but they're all fun and for me it's the ideal take on UM, I prefer it over the Combiner Wars figure just because it feels like half a figure (for me UM is a white Op with armor first and foremost).

We already know a Shaterred Glass Soundwave toy is coming but it was unknown which mold would be used. Comic covers are giving us a pretty big clue though with the latest cover making it obvious that he has the body used for the Walmart exclusive Netflix line. As we saw with Goldbug, while an outright rerelease of an exclusive may not be possible immediately, Hasbro seems to be able to still use the molds in different decos (this is just an observation, not a verified fact). So Soundwave could be using the Netflix mold just as Goldbug used the exclusive Volkswagen mold, meaning that these covers could be the first look at Shattered Glass Soundwave, and possibly his cassettes.

If they really do use the Netflix model then I have to ask, would it have really killed them to wait just a little longer for the exclusivity to run out for the Legacy release? I don't know why they were so desperate to get Siege Soundwave back out there with how often it was being bashed the first time around.

As we are hypothesizing with Goldbug, it could be that the exclusivity is not the mold itself but the mold/deco combo, so the actual release which is exclusive. So while they can't reissue the Netflix Soundwave toy themselves, they could release the mold in SG colours.

That's got to be it. Legacy Soundwave using the Netflix mold would have just been a straight reissue. But a completely different deco with a completely different color scheme is apparently allowed, as evidenced by Goldbug using the Netflix mold.

Some were hoping Goldbug would have an extra head, but that it would be the same head in gold to make it Marvel Goldbug.

I don't see the legacy landing gear on Soundwaves arms. I really hope we get a head with a fabric headband.

That might explain Bugbite as well. I really hope they come up with some alternate versions of exclusive heads so we can avoid this in the future.

I was prepared for Magnus, but Retrax and Blaster coming early is a thorn in the side right now

I was not prepared for my two SG Ultra Magnus toys because I'm currently at BotCon and have already spent a fortune in the dealer room.
