How many transformers can you have in your team

Does anyone know how many transformers that you can have in your team. I have twelve at the moment and it won't let me have any more!

Maximum limit is 12. However, you'll be required to spend 500 Energon every time you create a new transformer up to your twelfth. Hopefully, that makes sense.

So as you progress further in the game, you'll be able to build up to 12 characters for throwing into Missions and/or Arena battles.
