God, don't get so defensive. If you like a bad movie chances are you'll like another movie even if it turns out to be bad. What do you want me to say? "ROTF was a total cinema masterpiece, I can totally understand you, who are a fan of it, worrying about the next movie not living up to its ridiculously high standards!"

Defensive? HA! Now that's funny.
Say what you like about the movie, it's your opinion, I couldn't give a toss. Just like it's okay for you to not give a toss about my opinion.
But when you say, or even imply, that there's something wrong with someone for liking the movie, well that's just plain silly.
And the only reason it's even being brought up is because there's been many people over the years in many posts basically come out and say "You like ROTF? Then you're a retard".
It's old, stupid, and insulting. Oh and also not needed on this site.
Disclaimer: You implied it. Didn't outright say it. I can see the difference.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a shiny metal object to go play with.

I didn't even imply it. Are you honestly denying that ROTF had lower standards than even the first movie? To me it seems ridiculous to be worrying that a movie which, we can already tell by adaptations, has a more solid plot than ROTF will be worse (to the point on having nightmares about it, lol).
I'm not a movieverse hater, I follow it just as strongly as most other Transformers genres, but the truth is ROTF is the weakest link. Or more precisely, that is the overwhelming opinion on not just fans, but critics too.

This is an opinion, not a fact.Or more precisely, that is the overwhelming opinion on not just fans, but critics too.
That's a fact, but far more people disagreed with them, and you. Thus, it is irrelivent.

More accurately spoken; ROTF is the most debated link.
Capt.Failure wrote:Debated because those who didn't like it are outweighed by those who did, and they can't accept that fact.

Some perspective on that statement is necessary here because it borders on being an outright lie. There are innumerable cases of intolerance on both sides, and you need only look at the difference between these most recent threads:
When did you know the new movies were not for you
and
Too much negativity. Time for something positive!
To see that those who wish to express their displeasure in the movies suffer the ire of intolerance on a far greater scale than those who do not. Notice how the first thread gets completely driven off the rails by squabbling over opinions and drowned in circle jerks, whereas the second thread has run its course relatively unscathed.
It's unfair to portray those of us who dislike the movie in this kind of light while ignoring the actions of those who do. =/

Even amongst fans it's more difficult to find fans who like ROTF than those who don't.

Back to my point: I never saw a reason to post on Transformer's forums until I finally broke down and tried to get people to willingly listen to our side's opinions rather than write them off as not knowing any better. And the truth is that there's more fans of this series like I was, out there but with no reason to loudly proclaim that they liked the film, and they vastly outnumber those who dislike it (simple research has proven this). I've told people I know about how forum goers react to RotF and their responses range from disbelief to shock. They don't get how someone could hate what is basically "just a movie" that much, or see what was so bleedingly bad about it. And it is "just a movie."

Exactly. There was a review of ROTF, where they asked various movie goers, and each one of them rated the movie at least a 9 out of 10. The total (out of all the people who gave the scores) was a 9.5. And this is before the other critics reviewed ROTF. The ones who said it was a "bad" movie. Then suddenly everyone decides to hate the movie.
Capt.Failure wrote:SlyTF1 wrote:Capt.Failure wrote:Not really, just gotta keep it in perspective reletive to the other two films. The first film was long, but moved very slowly to the point I thought it got boring before the second half when the Autobots show up in force. RotF was better about this, getting the boring part out of the way at the 1/4 point then keeping a steady pace up to the finale.
With DotM being shorter it means that they'll have to get to the action quicker, and keep ramping it up until the very end. I doubt it's length will harm the film any. Hell, it'll probably benefit from it in the long run.
Also, I'm currently wagering with a friend that the Twins will be in there. Bay's just trying to shut the Paramount executives up until June 29th.
In a way though, I'm still kind of scared. This is supposed to be the last one directed by Bay. I'm gonna miss this series. Then what if the next director just totally ruins Transformers? Not that "ruined forever" crap, but what if they get EVERYTHING wrong?
Well, I don't want to sound like a jerk but that's exactly what the "RuinedFOREVER" crap is. If the next movie is a reboot (which is likely knowing Transformers as a series) then you just gotta adapt and look forward to new stories and characters, along with a new style.

Don't forget the Rotten Tomatoes Viewer Opinion score. It pretty much stomps all over the critical opinion. It's a simple matter of fact that critical opinion neither defines a movie's quality or decides it's success. Only the viewers can do that, and the viewers have spoken.

And that, class, would be called irony.![]()
Now, I'm just having a laugh with this, so please don't everyone buttrage at me, but that would be so funny....if the fans who point and laugh at RuinedFOREVERs adopt the RuinedFOREVER mantle if/when the franchise is rebooted because it won't be Bayformer enough, and will have traveled back in time to ruin their childhoods.
For the sake of the Internet, never let that happen Bay fans. The Internet will explode into a torent of Geewunners having told you so back in 2007.

Well, you won't see that happening with me since I've long ago embraced Transformer's nature as a show that changes as much as it's main characters with every new iteration. If the next movie series is totally different I'll be down with it.
Note: KISS Players fans are on my sh*t list though.

Except intolerance toward those who enjoyed the film is "acceptable" on these forums. When it's directed at those who disliked it by fans of the films who for once don't feel like taking it lieing down it's suddenly seems like anything from an offensive to monsterous act.
