Yeah it was definitely cool to put faces with the names here. I had a lot of fun up there. So after talking to TFM I figured it was time to do my taxes since I am pretty sure I'll be going to Botcon. The state of Michigan is giving me back a whopping.....
$4.00 Dollars. Yes thats Right folks four dollars. It makes no sense since I am a student but unfourtunately because I do make $10 an hour I made too much. grrr. I'm also only getting 400 back in federal taxes so It will be interesting to see if I can get money together to do Botcon.

All in all things went pretty well for me. I managed to just about break even after factoring in table cost and the new lot jsmith and I just bought. I was hoping the Chocolate Robot guys would be there so I could pick up a Masterpiece Starscream from them but I just ordered one from their site so I should have it soon! PorQPine, who had the WalMart Rattrap? I've been looking for one forever. Also, I completely forgot to buy that Titanium Starscream from you.

RC13, basically I wasn't kicked out, but I was stopped by an officer while walking out of the store. Since I had already complained there about their Loss Prevention practices, and experienced this negative treatment several times prior to yesterday, I refused to cooperate with the officer, and continued out to my car.

Long story short, the guy was mad that I was within my rights, and started to play a few games with me, until ultimately pulling me over(after pulling up to my car and telling me to leave, which was after he tried to detain me...I know, retarded), and he makes me sit in my car for about 20mins while he "investigates".

Finally, the guy comes up to my car, hand me a Trespass Notice, stating that, by order of the City of Canton, I am not allowed at the Canton Meijer or the adjacent property for 1yr from yesterday. If I go there, I can be arrested for Willful Trespassing. I'm actually laughing about it now.

I called the manager of Meijer today and asked if she made the request for the Notice, she said no, of course. And the cop told me that they did.

I don't care now, I've talked out most of my frustration about it, so I'm going to let it go. I figure that Meijer, due to their own bigotry toward their own customers, just lost another honest customer from a high income bracket. No criminal record, no reason to keep me out, they just did it, and let them have their fun I say.

And, to the cop who made such a big deal over nothing "for my benefit"(his words), I hope that you went home feeling good about the fact that no $hitstain citizen is going to question your almighty infallability. Have fun working the beat at Meijer in an upscale suburban neighborhood, and keep prattling on about how no one appreciates the risks that you take for them. Keep on harrassing good citizens and then wondering why they don't respect you. Such a conundrum, I know. I'm sure that it will take you the rest of your life.

Okay, now I've talked out all my frustration.

PQP's ban from meijers is certainly one of those stories that will prominently be retold in michiganders lore. i say you have that document framed and put on your toyroom wall.

I don't know the back story but what happened in the past exactly? That has me kind of worried because I go into just about every store that sells toys around here 3-4 times a week or more and usually walk out with nothing.

well, the canton meijer usually doesn't have anything anways the wal-mart in benson arizona had some mini-cons and 3 mirages. that was it. I did see a purple astromech. apparently it's Mace Windu's R4 unit. I hadn't seen that one yet.

If it makes you feel any better, when I was in middle school, I did shoplift a Dee Brown basketball card from Meijer. Just one card. I can't tell you how nervous I felt even after I made it back to my mom's car.

And due to the guilt and me being a pretty good person all around, I promptly ripped up said item, and littered it all across their parking lot. Double whammy!!! That seriously is a stupidly true story. It was right after Dee Brown pumped up his Reebok Pumps, and won that dunk contest with some awesome stuffs...

Plus, my last name is Brown, so it pushed me over the edge where I had to have the card!!! One less 50 cent basketball card in circulation!

I'm really not that messed up. It was a stupid kid thing... Not sure why I could not just buy the pack that had the card in it... I guess I was a broke kid at that time.

Actually I do wear a trenchcoat when it is cold enough out, I love my trench. You guys have to remember that I was born and raised two states south of here, so I'm not quite acclimated to these MI deep-freezes. Although I always feel like a wimp when I see you guys wearing windbreakers on 10 degree days.

Maybe I'm sensitive to this because I actually had a "problem" as a kid(I used to steal compulsively, actually), but I grew out of it by the time I was a teenager. Even when I was broke and selling personal belongings just so I could have bread, milk, and cold cuts to get me through the week, I didn't steal. And I know that I never told any of you guys this, but I have spent a month of my life homeless, back when I was 22. Even then I had never stolen. I'm against it in any shape or form.

JTK, basically I have just been noticing that every time I go to that Meijer, I have employees tailing me, even plain-clothes cops, which are easy to spot...all cops have the same posture.

About a month a go I had two employees and a plain-clothes cop follow me all the way up to the checkout...they didn't even try to hide it. They just stared at me the whole time. It was at this time that I went to the service desk and complained to the manager about their LP practices.

About two weeks prior to that, I went there, and the minute I reached the toy eisle, all of a sudden there were four red shirts in the eisle dooing a poor job of pretending that they weren't watching me.

About two weeks prior to that, I had an older female employee who wouldn't leave me alone, asking me over and over if I needed help, then coming back to see if I wanted to apply for a Meijer credit card, which I obviously declined.

About two weeks prior to that, I had the same instance with 3 or 4 employees that darted straight into the eisle the minute I showed up there. And the list goes on.

I'm not stupid, and I know what those things mean. I know people who work in Loss Prevention, so I know all the little tricks that they use, and I know my rights. This last time being the straw that broke the camel's back, I just refused to deal with them. And you know how cops get when you point out their stupidity. Sorry, I'm not one of those people who accepts that I should give up some rights in order to feel more secure. I'm not a thief, I know I'm not a thief, and that is all that matters. Let them enjoy their little distorted realities, while losing customers and supporters in the process.

I think you're just too sensitive. You have to let stuff like that roll off you, and not be such a rebel to the system...they're just trying to protect their profits. They probably follow grannies around, or mother's with strollers...both can have been guilty of shoplifting at any time BTW.

Seriously, I think it is just practice, they just do it. I am not sure I would feel offended, just let them do their thing and worry, and then you need to let them apologize and look stupid when they try to bust you and you haven't done jack ****!

However, I can assure you that if they did try to have me kept off premises for coming on their property to buy something that my family and friends would never shop a Meijer again.

Ah, TT what would I do if I had to live life without your wisdom? You're right. But I assure that I did try, for the longest time, to ignore it. I just felt that it was time to stand up for myself instead of reinforcing their behavior. I just think that it is a shame that they see every customer as guilty until proven innocent.

I am serious when I say that I'm never going back there, though. I don't think that I was offended by it as much as just frustrated by how many times I noticed it. It's horrible to have to feel like I'm checking in and out of a prison, when there isn't even any gurantee that they will have what I'm looking for, sigh. Maybe they've always been like this, and I just didn't notice until recently.

Anyway it'll be fun to watch brick&mortar stores slowly disappear over the next century. The days of digital distribution cometh!!

I need a big favor guys. I've been looking all over and.... I can't find any Classics Starscreams or Megatrons anywhere. I know I shouldn't have passed them up when I could have bought them but that was during my TF drought. lol If anyone can get a hold of or at least point me in the direction of 2 Starscreams and 1 Megatron at retail I would forever be in your debt. Damn that's a drive.... Which means I might be driving it tomorrow. lol

in the early days of my hunting, when i was looking out for marvel legends, i came across a lot of product at meijers that had the BAF pieces removed from the packages. and i'm not talking about the isolated case either, whole rows of guys with just the BAF pieces removed at different stores. not to mention hot wheels missing their cars, damaged product, etc. no doubt the majority is the result of kids messig around, but i bet a larger amount is employee theft.

so i can see where the loss prevention people are coming from, they need to get some actual shoplifters too. meijers is probably one of those stores that loses a huge amount to shoplifting and the like.

for pqp's case it was more like the perfect storm of events. i bet if it had been store security he would have been out of there in seconds, but the cop just got a little antsy and coupled with pqp's history with the store, things just escalted ... quickly. jumped up a notch. at least no one was stabbed in the heart

I don't know if these were at the wal-mart last night or not. there isn't much to do in benson, AZ, so I went to walmart again today. these looked like all new spidey figures by hasbro. they were movie Goblin and movie doc ock, ultimate rhino, lizard and kraven. all new molds. no spidey. they are smaller than the regular spidey line... probably 5 or 6" I really hope they aren't doing the spider-man 3 figs this way.. these don't look that great. has anyone else seen them?

i haven't seen them in stores yet, but you're right about the size change, i think it's across the board for both the spidey guys and the new fantastic four movie figs too.
