Here is another idea on Minicons, as an upgrade they would work fine, but an added idea for them is to treat them like Pokemon. You gotta catch them all type of thing.
And how about make it a big deal if you lose in a match and get killed by somebody, they get your Minicon.
Just some ideas to make it more interesting, I am a G1 through and through but I really hated the Headmasters and Targetmasters. I always thought that pretty much hearalded the end of the Transformers.

I always thought Happy Meal quality robots inside cheap plastic shells were the gimmicks that brought the end of Transformers.

The Pretenders are like the Cobra-lalalalalala in GI Joe.
The Minicons I think were a fresh idea that was introduced and I think they work. Are they equals to Autobot or Decepticons? No, but they did add a intresting plot and showed how important they really were to each faction.

I rather like the minicons. They seemed to have helped me out quite a bit. I only wish there were some availabe now since I'm down to my last two.

Anyway, aside from some small concerns about mini-cons and how people may exploit them, I think they've worked out fine. People are just expecting far too much. In fact the best way to describe things would be people have had it far too easy in this game for far too long. V2 will be a bit more difficult and mini-cons are an extra level of strategy best used in desperate times.

I think that the Minicons are not an addition to the game at all!!!
You have to spend all your money and when you are not so lucky you loose all again... This way the people with the most money will keep on winning because the poorer guys can't buy a new Minicon to do battle with...

I agree... I only have one in my whole team and actually couldn't get 3 other characters not in the CR chambers because of it!
