If so then I will say (hoping I'm not off-topic) that I dread to think what Youtube thinks I am like as the latest things it's been suggesting to me are getting increasingly weird.

Today I got a video suggesting that the woman in the red dress in the Matrix is an illuminati symbol, and a guy pretending to be a chimp who states quite calmly that woman are of lower intelligence that Men in a way that sounds not at all unlike your average 1930s German eugenicist.
Now Eugenics is bad enough but Eugenics against the 50+% of the population that gives birth is just plain daft.

So Youtube algorithms - I wish they'd get the point when I keep saying no to MGTOW videos. Did I really create a rod for my own back here simply by watching 'Woman vs Tropes' that one time... it's not like it suggests feminist videos at me either - I suspect it's thinking I'm watching them ironically and so giving me anti-feminist suggestions...

But it's getting daft it's ALL I'm getting multiple lines of the stuff ...

So is anyone else getting odd ball Youtube suggestions lately that have nothing to do with anything you watch - I was getting airship videos last month (no I have no idea why either) and this month it's misogynists and neo nazis. (again no idea why) I did look up some World War 2 documentaries last year - but why now and why those - why not the history channels docs ?

I've watched several Egyptology vids on Youtube and yet it never suggests more of them (at least not yet).

Anyway way Youtube is weird.

I barely remember the original Pete's Dragon, but this looks decent enough and I might check it out.

The next film I plan to see is The Witch, and I hope my local small-town cinema decides to show (they usually only show big Hollywood blockbusters, kid's films, or Oscar-bait dramas).

For reviews/recommendations, I found Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (a film I've wanted to watch for years) in a second-hand DVD shop last week. Sadly I didn't find it very funny, there were a lot of pointless scenes, and the songs (which aren't really the D's best) are the best thing about it. I'd give it 4 out of 10.

I just saw 10 Cloverfield Lane. It was pretty good, lots of suspense. The last 1/4 of the movie was the best.

So did they put a connection to the old cloverfield movie in there or not? I know it was meant to be an unconnected film but with the title change I didn't know if other things got added.

Stu, if someone has just seen a movie that's not out in the UK then the most logical explanation is they are not on the UK. Also it pays to keep attention to what other users posts in other threads.

Also, part of the problem would be assuming he's from the UK when this site gets people in from all over the world.

Besides Stu, a lot of UK humour is based on taking the mick, ever watched Father Ted, Blackadder or Red Dwarf?

I saw The Bronze today. It's not a much advertised or widely released film, but it was pretty good. It's a raunchy comedy about a has-been Olympic bronze medalist gymnast who can't get past her glory days and ends up training a new superstar-in-the-making. It's kinda like Bad Santa in terms of the relationship between the 2 main characters. It was funny, but definitely R-rated. If you have the time and money, I recommend it for some good laughs. And I bought my advance ticket to see Batman vs. Superman while I was at it. Next Thursday, 6 PM. :-D
