One possibility could be to arrange by ability the alt gives, or which ever is listed first if the alt offers two. I mean no matter animal or machine, the abilities are universal.

The problem with making the categories so large as only having 4 is that the game would end far more quickly. In and of itself, it isn't a terrible thing for someone to cap on points, but it takes away from the challenge. One thing I loved about the scavenger hunt was that there were really difficult objectives, so you needed to think before sending a character into a mission at times. Yes, RNG played a big part there, just as it would in this game, but it still adds a certain level of "thrill" to the experience by making completion more difficult.
The number is ultimately unimportant to me, as I'm more dedicated to the idea for other reasons (such as the limited point system and ability for all levels to participate evenly), but I figured it was worth mentioning. It may make it more boring for the higher level players.

True, I was just offering ideas out, even if there was any parts of them that, through alteration, could work then it would help overall

Indeed XD Every little bit helps. I, in no way, meant to come off as if the idea was invalid or unappreciated.
Prizes are another thing. Overwatch also reminded me about the token idea from a while back participants get a token, regardless of outcome, and can buy prizes with them (such as custom weapons, alt modes, etc) so people could pick their prize and always be able to work towards them by participating in the community events. I'm trying to find it to know who to give props to for the idea, but I can't find it (could be blind)...pretty sure it was Turbo but could be wrong.

I do remember that coming up in one of the campaign threads. It is a good idea and a shame we didn't have a way for a token counter to be programmed into the team view screen

Indeed...but a public google spreadsheet may work, also.
