Ugh, I'm totally getting that 'McNabb's out for season' and 'The Michael Vick rebirth' vibes right now.

Vicks still got 2 games before he can even play.

4 actually. Honestly I can't blame him at all...and neither did Cris Collinsworth during his analysis. He flat out said the WR's were running wrong routes...and being a former WR himself he would know. Did you see the decisions that the Bears' "wide receivers" were making? That fake punt? I'm calling it now...Bears will be 6-10 this year and it will cost Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo their jobs...honetly Angelo should have been gone a couple years ago. You could have Joe Montana at QB but even he can't do anything without any wide receivers. On top of that we lost Urlacher...what a bad game overall.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Yes, I know it was 4. I said 3 during halftime. :P

So anyone want a Denver Broncos Cutler Jersey? I think it's better to be in someone else's hand then in the garbage dump.

Chicago radio is reporting that Brian Urlacher's season is done. I'm really depressed. Word is the Bears are talking to former Bucs LB Derrick Brooks.

And I was happy football started so I didn't have to watch the Cubs anymore. (sigh) WHen does hockey season start?

Thought it was soon...my friend is a trainer with the Blackhawks and he just contacted me about working with their AHL franchise for a seventh season. Plus I'm taking care of his dog while he's in Chicago...heh heh.

SO anyone betting on how badly the Raiders will get stomped tonite? I got 21 points...

St. Louis is really bad. What the heck happened to them? They used to be an offensive juggernaut, now they get shut out by the Seahawks. Oh yeah, the Lions lost (gasp!). So far 8-6 this week...not good.

I got 27-13 Chargers. But I'm being generous to the Raiders. It'll more likely be 34-6 or 40-0. As long as the points total is 40. :P

So far 8-6 this week...not good.

I'm 10-4. I picked the Pats and the Chargers tonight. Should go 12-4.

And my fantasy team was a bit off... I had the Eagles Defense on the bench and they scored 40! My bench totaled 107 points while my starters got 60! I'm still winning, though, 60-19. And I have Philip Rivers and Terrell Owens going tonight. Bad thing is, my opponent has Tom Brady, LT and Antonio Gates going tonight...so it'll be fun.

My fantasy team couldn't have done any better...I had Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, and Thomas Jones all starting. I'm winning by more than 100 and am just a tad under 200 points with three players going tonite. heh heh...

WOW. Brees and AP? I'm guessing you had #1 pick in your draft...right? Or else you have stupid people in your league.

Well, after a mediocre opening, I think I have a better feel for the league. Here are my picks for week 2:
Atlanta over Carolina
Minnesota over Detroit
Packers over Bengals
Jacksonville over Arizona
Oakland over KC
(Upset pick) NYJ over Patriots
New Orleans over Philly
Tennessee over houston
Washington over St. Louis
Buffalo over Tampa
Seattle over SF
Pittsburgh stomps Chicago
Cleveland over Denver
San Diego over Baltimore
Dallas over NYG
Indianapolis over Miami

Looking forward to that NO-Philly game this week. Also kinda iffy on the Minnesota-Detroit game...My gut is telling me that the Lions may pull that one off (and my gut is pretty big so it has a loud voice). Favre has never done well in Detroit for some reason. Also, right now the Patriots are hurting defensively so I expect Thomas Jones and the Jets to do well...they might well pull off the upset too.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Yeah...this is an upset pick too. Denver did NOT look good against Cincinnati and right now Cleveland is better than the Bungles. Plus you have Kyle Orton and no running game. That equals no offense. Trust me on this...I'm a Bears fan and have dealt with Orton for years.

You really think KC can beat Oakland? The Raiders looked REALLY impressive against San Diego and Matt Cassel is still on a bad knee. If he isn't playing, you get Brady Croyle. Larry Johnson can't run anymore. KC has no wide receivers. i just can't see them winning.

What gives me confidence in KC is how they handled Baltimore, even if they lost. Oakland is no Baltimore.

Regardless of the outcomes, pretty pumped for this week. Second week always seems to be fun... in fact every week is fun, just to look at all the storylines and everything going on.

Good luck to all teams

You did see how badly Atlanta beat Miami right? It wasn;t the offense that won it, it was the defense that drove them into the ground. I do expect something similar to happen tomarrow against the Panthers.

I have to agree. Carolina just looked bad last week. Atlanta is a very impressive team right now. I half expect them to win the NFC and go to the Super Bowl. THey made great additions in the offseason on both sides of the ball.

Well, I give Carolina the benefit of the doub. If they put 2 or 3 more games like that together, thn i will officially call them poopy and lose confidence in them. But as long as Steve Smith DeAngelo Williams and Jake Delhomme are healthy, the Panthers are a potent team. Everyone can have a bad day. And I put Eli Manning (against Dallas) in my fantasy lineup over Philip Rivers (against Baltimore). I hope that wasn't a dumbass move.

So...ummm...did anyone else expect an offensive shootout in the Houston-Tennessee game?

Anyone?

ANyone?

Bueller?

Bueller?

On a pissy note, DirecTV now wants an extra $100 from Sunday Ticket subscribers for NFL games in HD. I'm switching to Dish Network as soon as i can get through to customer service...which, if the DTV forums are any indication, won't be anytime soon.

I sit here in my recliner on my laptop with my mouth hanging open in disbelief.

Chicago beat Pittsburgh. I can scarcely believe it. Seems to be a day of upsets today. Tennessee was beaten by Houston. The Jets knocked off New England. Bears over Steelers. Bengals over Packers. Weird stuff today. At least Detroit lost so we can all maintain our attachment to the real world.

Looks like you can add Baltimore over San Diego to the mix too. What a play by Ray Lewis. Norv Turner's days as head coach are numbered. San Diego continues to underachieve under him- just like any other Norv Turner-coached franchise.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
