I mean, if they send you pictures of the cartoon character over and over again, then there maybe a problem. But people have always had crushes on cartoon characters, its a minor outlet for them to express themselves.
It can be noted that every following has people who fantasize over the characters as if they were real. To take another example, look at pokemon. Now if you were in the young age bracket for the time, you would have sold your soul to the devil to have a real pokemon at your side. Yes you may find it childish, but its still someone’s dream.
And as for you who find it "dumb" or stupid", or possibly "degrading to the transformer fan name", that’s good for you, but that’s your own personal opinion, that we've now heard.
Now I maybe no lawyer or police officer, but if I remember the faithful day I pressed the sign up button on this site, there was a small blurb about being respectful to others ideas and contributions. Maybe its time we all took a nice step back and looked at our perspective on things, since viewing a topic through one perspective alone solves nothing. Of course, this leads into more of a philosopher’s forum thread about how someone can find an animated character attractive, be it through looks or personality.

Damolisher wrote:Annoys me. I mean, I don't mind female Transformers FANS, it's kina cool to know they're out there, but It annoys me to hear about how "Hot" or how "Sexy" Starscream is. I mean, for crying out loud, it's a cartoon about giant transforming robots who are millions of years old. Aimed at males. Same with males who think Arcee's hot. Again, it's a drawing. Voiced by a woman who is in her 50s.
And then there's the ones who talk about Romance, etc, who annoy me too. I know people are entitled to their opinion, but Transformers shouldnt' be the place to look for 'girlie' things such as romance, and crap like that. I guess it's kinda "Cute" but in a lot of instances, it's creepy, such as sex fics. Those mofos need help. I like Transformers, because it's something that's aimed with us guys in mind, with action, awesome robots, and cool toys. As I said, it bothers me when peopel fawn over characters in a kids franchise. It's like people thinking those stupid Bratz dolls are hot. I just don't get it.

Cars aren't sexy. They're machines. And people can be found sexy because A) They're people and B) They're real.
Also, as far as MY opinion goes, MY personal opinion is that if people want to see romance between Transformers, that's great. But the fact is, they're roots at war, and I don't think too many males (Who, just for the record are the target audience) want to see romance.
(I apologize if that comes across as discriminating against female fans, it's not, I'm simply saying that Transformers was, and generally still is generally released as a product for a male audience.) Hell, Gundam Wing's a good show to watch if you want both mechs and romance.

So seeing a human with some blue skinned, white haired alien with antenue or whatever can happen......don't see why not with metallic life forms.
Damolisher wrote:Nothing wrong with it?! Dude, it's a cartoon aimed at kids, and they're giant robots. That's like trying to go bang a Megazord, or wanting ot tap MEGAs From MEGAs XLR.

2 - Men have been "falling in love" with cars, boats, spacecraft & weapons since the dawn of crap. Hence the female names on fighter planes, rotary saws & Corvette Stingrays.
3. Women are different than men. Really different. Formost, the average woman/girl may be attracted to a being based on physical basis', but in most cases issues of love, lust or even the need to seek the attention of someone outside a relationship is based on personality. Women are and always will find the bad boys a most striking and eye-catching subject. Especially a character that they feel -- or plainly states -- that the chance exists to reform.
Last - you don't have to like it.

Moonbase2 wrote:And someone please tell me how Starscream is sexy. Intriguing, treacherous, funny, yes. You might even say his design is attractive (not sexually, but aesthetically pleasing). The moment his mouth opens in the cartoon, sexy has flown out the window. The voice matches his personality. Nothing more, nothing less. Definitely not there to turn us on.
Damolisher wrote:Meh, cute ain't as bad as "Sexy." I mean, it's not like you're one of the legions of fans who creates a Transformers fanfic character of themselves as a love interest of one of the characters. I hate trying to get into an (Otherwise awesome) story to find it's got a mushy love subplot with a Transformer.

I've always wondered that myself. The giant friggin' robot issue aside, I can't really think of a single redeeming feature for him - he's a treacherous, manipulative, self-serving, backstabbing coward, and he's got a ridiculously annoying voice.
Why do we not hear from more Jazz fangirls? He's got a lot more going for him. Sexy alt-mode, exciting job, bags of style, and all without a hint of pretention or arrogance. He's everything that James Bond wishes he could be - if he can get laid so often, I don't see why Jazz has so few fangirls...
