First, I've never been a fan of the "character". In whatever story he's popped up, never liked him.
As for this figure, not a big fan, but I would like to see some better pics of him before I write him off completely.
As a potential Astrotrain repaint, nope. Not interested. Already got a modern Astrotrain so I don't need another one.

what do you mean galvatron has a worse alt. mode than generations? its pretty damn close to what it should bejtprime wrote:Galvatron-better size but worse alt. Mode than generations
Blaster-don't like as boom box/base & they probably won't release all the cassettes just like they did with all other blaster/soundwave molds
Skullcrusher & hard head - very good
Sentinel prime - colors & mold could fit as omega supreme better...and omega has been in comics awhile. And sentinel was white and then became nemesis so I don't understand the colors.
Hasbro is trying to match g1 molds but then make characters that aren't headmasters into headmasters. Or combiners out of characters that weren't g1 combiners.
Now IDW will be writing comics to fit toys which may not be a good idea.
G1 started to have bad toy molds and ideas, and scale was crazy. ACTIONMASTERS?..a transformer that could not transform. Point is the generations/classics line was started as a good line with nice robot & alt moulds. Now hasbro is starting to remake characters that were already released, and choosing iffy molds that have lots of repaints to churn out a lot of toys.
For a collector, which a lot of these toys are made for, I don't need multiple primes, bumblebees, soundwave etc...THERE ARE LOTS OF CHARACTERS...make molds for new characters...there are still more females, if hasbro is making masters, make them all..not a few then jump to another idea.
And the mass shifting to explain poor scale was a stupid explanation. The enigma of combination was a good idea but seemed like IDW is retconning its own storyline. Which may continue to happen if they try to match hasbro's semi-Parr toy machine.

You must be new here. Don't you know you can't be a Transformers fan without hating Transformers?

Ah, yes. Thanks for reminding me.

It's a very important thing to remember

Like I said, we are going off schematics that would otherwise be in packaging, so we don't know yet. It is only strongly implied he is a reshell/retool, But I still would not mind a new mold. Help Improve the City mode some

I am unimpressed. The Titans themselves don't look like they've progressed from the 80's, I don't like Blaster as a "Titan Master" nor do I really like him being that big (and FFS, they'd better not just make Soundwave out of him, that would be INCREDIBLY lazy even with retooling) nor do I like the look of Galvatron.
But ... I'll give it a go. I don't see it being a line I'll be getting a lot of though.

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old and cranky? I kinda felt like this during the Unicron Trilogy, but at least we had BinalTecxh to keep me interested.
Burn wrote:So knowing that Titans Return is a continuation ... I think it's the thought of so many repaints/remolds again has me not enthused.

Honestly I don't think that there's a lesson to be learned. Sure people complain about the repaints but they're still selling like crazy. I think that this last line was flooded with repaints simply out of convenience, the characters were ( debatably) more about the combined form than the actual individual modes. This time around they don't REALLY have the same crutch to work off of. Sure we will probably get relations (astrotrain) and I'm sure we'll get remolds, but I think they'll be more on par with sandstorm/Springer than the cw figures.

I was going to say something the same. The empty pegs at my local stores really tell the tale. And it's not like they've been continually empty. I've seen several waves come and go rather quickly.
What I haven't seen sell quickly are the Voyagers and Leaders. After going a long time without seeing G1 megs, he's still pretty available around me. And Cyclonus and OP are starting to shelfwarm. There's even a few Silverbolts still around.
So, I have a small worry that the Titan Returns line may not do as well if it has a bunch of larger bots. *shrug* Based on the number of figures we got in the CW line, I'm willing to bet there is a ton more to reveal over the next year.
Plus, I was just thinking of the repaint potential. There are some obvious ones. But, Galvy won't have any repaint/remold potential, will he? How about Skullcruncher? Hardhead? I'm trying to think if there was any figure in the CW line that was unique, without any repaint/remold...

I was happy with the Aerialbots. Stunticons arrived from Japan yesterday, not impressed.

What didn't you like about the stunticons?
Was it mm's dumb torso mode, or the sameyness of dead end and neck brace?
I think that if the mold existed already, they should have used streetwise for either dead end or neck brace, it would've really helped break up the monotony of the set

That's why I liked Offroad soooo much, he offered a bit more diversity and he still looked cool
