First, I've never been a fan of the "character". In whatever story he's popped up, never liked him.

As for this figure, not a big fan, but I would like to see some better pics of him before I write him off completely.

As a potential Astrotrain repaint, nope. Not interested. Already got a modern Astrotrain so I don't need another one.

That's all fair; I missed out on astrotrain, so I'll probably be getting both of these, as I love the design, and both look pretty epic 8-)

Skullcrusher & hard head - very good
Sentinel prime - colors & mold could fit as omega supreme better...and omega has been in comics awhile. And sentinel was white and then became nemesis so I don't understand the colors.

Hasbro is trying to match g1 molds but then make characters that aren't headmasters into headmasters. Or combiners out of characters that weren't g1 combiners.
Now IDW will be writing comics to fit toys which may not be a good idea.
G1 started to have bad toy molds and ideas, and scale was crazy. ACTIONMASTERS?..a transformer that could not transform. Point is the generations/classics line was started as a good line with nice robot & alt moulds. Now hasbro is starting to remake characters that were already released, and choosing iffy molds that have lots of repaints to churn out a lot of toys.
For a collector, which a lot of these toys are made for, I don't need multiple primes, bumblebees, soundwave etc...THERE ARE LOTS OF CHARACTERS...make molds for new characters...there are still more females, if hasbro is making masters, make them all..not a few then jump to another idea.

And the mass shifting to explain poor scale was a stupid explanation. The enigma of combination was a good idea but seemed like IDW is retconning its own storyline. Which may continue to happen if they try to match hasbro's semi-Parr toy machine.
what do you mean galvatron has a worse alt. mode than generations? its pretty damn close to what it should be

Cant wait for the Astrotrain repaint, plus a triple changing headmaster; Apeface please? Galvatron looks super sweet but I would rather him not be a headmaster, really not since in IDW he hates that stuff. Also love that Hardhead and hopefully the other main headmasters are large deluxes. Can't wait for a great Chromedome and maybe Apeface, 2 of my top favs ever.

Y'know that's my fear for this particular figure!(Fort Max) is that it'll probably still carry the same city or rolling battlestation mode!(from Metroplex) for example....look at CW Cyclonus....as beautiful a remold as that is.....it still carries over the same aspects of the original mold(Silverbolt), in terms of transformation ect + it's still the same box slung underneath kibble!

so I don't believe they'll change the Metroplex mold up THAT much....for Fort Max(granted he'll have the obvious changes).

Anyway I hope I'm proved wrong on this......but let us know your thoughts

I am unimpressed. The Titans themselves don't look like they've progressed from the 80's, I don't like Blaster as a "Titan Master" nor do I really like him being that big (and FFS, they'd better not just make Soundwave out of him, that would be INCREDIBLY lazy even with retooling) nor do I like the look of Galvatron.

But ... I'll give it a go. I don't see it being a line I'll be getting a lot of though.

I'm feeling the same. Hardhead is the only figure I like the look of, but making him a deluxe is a huge fail in my opinion.

Basically, I was disappointed with every single Combiner Wars purchase. Superion is nice, but only combined. As individual robots, they suck (and no need to upset Va'al by bringing up the old AB complaints). I'm not even all that excited for the Hot Rod and Shockwave MPs.

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old and cranky? I kinda felt like this during the Unicron Trilogy, but at least we had BinalTecxh to keep me interested.

For me, I think I'm a little burnt out over all the repaints/remolds of CW figures. Sure, most of them work, but come on ... how many characters can you squeeze out of one mold?

So knowing that Titans Return is a continuation ... I think it's the thought of so many repaints/remolds again has me not enthused.

What lesson was there to learn though, there was some people who were happy or indifferent to the last wave of repaints. If anything it showed them they could be very effective with their budget for the whole toy line. However, I wonder though if Prime Wars was thought out completely and thus, budgeted as a whole to pay for further wonders in the next year or two.

It may be less of a problem the sameyness this time as they no longer have to be engineered to the same or similar Transformation pattern to work.

The Triple-Changers so far seem a little half-hearted no real effort has been put into Galavatron's jet mode to my mind and Sentinel's Train mode isn't up to much either. of the 3 Blaster works best as a base mode is basically just an unfolded robot with open sections anyway - so it can get away with being vague looking more than the train or jet can.

I expect we will be inflicted with some repaints - but I hope they will be more of the smaller vehicle/head packs than the larger ones.

Astrotrain is inevitable but not unwelcome (as a complement to Blitzwing)- I would expect Soundblaster gets made by someone or other and Takara will likely do a Twincast from Blaster. I'm fine with that too.

I guess an allicon is possible out of Skullcruncher or with some retooling even a Sharkticon.

But yes I hope they tone down the repaints a lot in 2016-2017 in general.

I don't mind repaints when they are a bit of fun or make sense or fill a gap in another theme - but Combiner Wars did over do it a bit in a very short space of time... even so I'd not complain if they made Wheeljack into Lightspeed sometime for example. and I would rather like a CW Sideswipe & Bluestreak too.

I think if you see them as a bonus thing rather than as a replacement for what you'd otherwise get it's not so insulting.

That Hasbro is making all 3 main Leaderclass "Seekers" is I feel a good thing... but if they carried on into things like Acid Storm or Sunstorm I'd want a breathing space before they did that - and perhaps even some new weapons, heads or accessories to add interest to them.

But one a year over the next couple of years I'd be fine with as I would also be fine with a G2 Leader Megatron repaint at some point down the line.. that to would need some breathing space too to allow for all the Green Armada Megatron's to get off the shelves.

The other thing I fear...is Distribution of the likes of Fort Max(when it does finally get a release) especially so.....in the UK! coz as history has shown us.....with Generations Metroplex & MP10....not every store(TRU) within the United Kingdom carried those figures! granted some TRU's(in England) had them in...while others never did(Scotland...with the exception of Comicon's ect) now granted a way of getting around this....is ordering those online(Kapow) but there does exist those that prefer the more traditional route of going into a physical store....seeing those on a shelf... & buying them straight away(Instead of having to wait x amount of days/weeks for it to appear through the door!) & YES...it can be a bit of a hit & miss affair while doing so.

Now one speculative reason for not all TRU's in the UK having them in(at least where the Titan Class figures are concerned....Metroplex, Devastator & Fort Max) is shelf space! coz the boxes are so large...obviously they take up a lot of room...& not every regional store maybe able to carry those....especially this Christmas(as Devastator MAY....not will.....be putting in an appearance) as Star Wars merchandise will probably be dominating the shelves in terms of space. The only upside to this....is maybe OTHER physical stores(Smyths, A1 Toys ect) will carry Devastator & Fort Max
I hope I'm proved wrong & that TRU(Scotland) will be getting Devastator & Fort Max in! but as history has shown...it hasn't always been very successful.

Honestly I don't think that there's a lesson to be learned. Sure people complain about the repaints but they're still selling like crazy. I think that this last line was flooded with repaints simply out of convenience, the characters were ( debatably) more about the combined form than the actual individual modes. This time around they don't REALLY have the same crutch to work off of. Sure we will probably get relations (astrotrain) and I'm sure we'll get remolds, but I think they'll be more on par with sandstorm/Springer than the cw figures.

I would anticipate TRU UK will stock Fortress Maximus as it will be a "Main Xmas toy in 2016" they do stock that big green Grimlock (though I don't think he's on their website yet).. they did sell Metroplex on the TRU-UK website though. He was often out of stock or not available for home delivery.

To be honest you likely want to see if there is any differences as if they make a toy with Electronics in again the UK one will be likely gutted of most of the sounds. - but they may gut all the electronics and instead give you the extra head - but I suspect they think a toy of that size the Electronics are "expected" - but The giant green Grimlock has been stripped of a lot of features unfortunately. so who can say.

I'm a little concerned about Devastator in the UK too as he's a very costly toy - hopefully he will show up in enough volume to allow for a deduction and isn't just a limited thing - I also hope Fort Max isn't £200.00 either like Trypticon can be.

I was going to say something the same. The empty pegs at my local stores really tell the tale. And it's not like they've been continually empty. I've seen several waves come and go rather quickly.

What I haven't seen sell quickly are the Voyagers and Leaders. After going a long time without seeing G1 megs, he's still pretty available around me. And Cyclonus and OP are starting to shelfwarm. There's even a few Silverbolts still around.

So, I have a small worry that the Titan Returns line may not do as well if it has a bunch of larger bots. *shrug* Based on the number of figures we got in the CW line, I'm willing to bet there is a ton more to reveal over the next year.

Plus, I was just thinking of the repaint potential. There are some obvious ones. But, Galvy won't have any repaint/remold potential, will he? How about Skullcruncher? Hardhead? I'm trying to think if there was any figure in the CW line that was unique, without any repaint/remold... Image

I personally can't think of anyone they can repaint the existing molds on, but I'm not that well versed in all the characters. As for the cw line, the only figures with no repaint or remold are bombshell, ultra magnus, brawl and skylynx

Sure we will probably get relations (astrotrain) and I'm sure we'll get remolds, but I think they'll be more on par with sandstorm/Springer than the cw figures.

Image

Hardhead could be an unimaginaive bmach tankor, I'd buy it in those colors in a heartbeat >:oP

I was happy with the Aerialbots. Stunticons arrived from Japan yesterday, not impressed.

What didn't you like about the stunticons?

Was it mm's dumb torso mode, or the sameyness of dead end and neck brace?

I think that if the mold existed already, they should have used streetwise for either dead end or neck brace, it would've really helped break up the monotony of the set >:oP

That's why I liked Offroad soooo much, he offered a bit more diversity and he still looked cool :BOT:

Yeah, he's one of the best figures, I loved the colors he brought, that teal and green look so nice ;)^
