Also...what is the initial retail prices on alternators and binaltech?
Alternators $20?
Binalteches $40?

I only want a few more Binaltech and I can only spend so much, so bidding wars are out for me. I'm sure I'll be able to snag a Wheeljack for under $100 in a few months.

Wheeljack is a BT to avoid. Get the Alternator version instead. He has a funny neck (fixed on Alt), and mine has really weak forearm joints that fall off if you look at him wrong.
lanzajr26 wrote:Do you think this defect is enough to take away from the BT version even if he is only on display? I'd hate to break up my BT collection and have just one Alternator character, those diecast cars are just so nice.

The paint jobs give the appearance of diecast, while being plastic underneath.
Many of the Alternator versions actually do have very nice paint jobs, just not all of them.

I'd say go for it and buy it... but if you look at other stuff you can buy that are the same price but more fun like pc game or something... then I'd say no... don't buy it. Alternators are alright... but really I wouldn't go for the Binaltech and pay $80. I basically never spend more than $35-$40 on a toy, $50 max.

So considering just the Convoy and Rodimus figures, do you think there is any reason to buy them over the Alternator versions based on the toy alone (disregarding the KP bonuses)? I understand the difference in paint apps for Alt and Kiss Rodimus, but is the quality of the figure pretty much the same across both lines?
