Black Guardian wrote:So as far as I'm concerned reset without resetting alts and, if you've got one you want to keep, you're just going to have to knuckle down and work at it, no matter how annoying that may be. Natch.

Deadboy wrote:A lot of this spiralled from everyone having their own personal area of concern...
1. Some people don't want to lose their alts
Deadboy wrote:2. Some people don't want to spend tons of energon and tons of time re-installing armor (and there is a certain segment that can't afford it, let's not forget them)
Deadboy wrote:3. Some people don't want the alts they worked hard for and earned to be available to everyone.

It's an unenviable job, OS, but you've got my full support no matter what you do.
Quietstorm wrote:Which is what I've been doing. I probably have one of the rarest Decepticon alts out there--the Lego tank. And I've made the mistake of putting stats in that I don't need. Now mind you, a reset of those stats would be nice. But in doing so, I'd lose my precious alt. So...when I've finally found a configuration for said Lego Tank Brawler that is earning XP that I'm satisfied with it's disheartening to hear from the new code programmer that I have to "evolve or die" to continue to play the game.
Black Guardian wrote:Finally, did anyone actually say "evolve or die" to you, or did you just take offence. I ask only because if they did say exactly that then they are a b****d. And I concur that OS's put-down of your concerns, though I'm hoping it was meant good-naturedly, came across as a bit harsh.
Omega Sentinel wrote:QuietStorm wrote:And with their old set-up being downsized and limited to the mechanics of the new system, how then would they be able to continue on the path they're going?
They can continue on their path and get slagged or adjust and try new strategies.
Omega Sentinel wrote:You asked how things were being developed and I answered and now we are discussing it. Period.QuietStorm wrote:Well, after I voiced my concern about it I was told, and I'm paraphrasing here, to "Evolve or Die." Why wouldn't anyone else want to voice their concern about this? I mean, that's some awesome verbage to hear from the newly appointed ruler of the H-M-Dub code. Of course, after hearing that everyone would want to share their thoughts, comments and concerns.
Word.
I encourage anyone else that has interpretted this thread as "evolve or die" to speak up (as I assume it is only one person at this point).
Your concerns are a non-issue....moving on....
This is a good discussion. Please continue. I'm taking notes

This is a VERY selfish point of view. Especilly since most current rare alts will go back to being few in nuber after a few months anyway thanks to people resetting.
QS.
Life throughout eternity has been evolve or die.
If a game is in anyway changed, it will mean that you have to change with it.
If you dont, you will get slagged.
Please, please, PLEASE stop harping on about one line that OS wrote which whilst perhaps wasnt the best words ever wasalso NOT evolve or die. If you have something constructive to say, please say it, but otherwise, just stop already. I would start ignoring you too if you having a go at me like this.

I think its a bad thing tho if everyone can get the alts that where prizes for old skool tournies and what not its not fair to the people who didnt reset for years on end just to keep that alt (I did this with more then a few of my alts that are now in common circulation)
QuietStorm wrote:I think that the weapons problem is completely legitimate. I just wonder if it's the right course of action to take at this moment. It seems like something that doesn't need to corrected immediately.

Caelus wrote:If we're just looking at a weapons change though, I think automatically resetting the stats and stripping off the armor is a bad idea, as many will probably just restore their original stat layout until, as I said before, it is proven ineffective and they themselves can see why. Then, if they want to reset their bots, they can themselves weigh that against the strength of their inhibitions not to.

The "concern" I was referring to was your accusing me of having an "evolve or die" mentality. That IS a non-issue.QuietStorm wrote:He then followed this up as the discussion progressed with "my concern is a non-issue" considering that I was but one person with said concern.
That wasn't the plan, but we may need to adjust some mission details once we start playing with this.Edgecrusher wrote:ok my turn to ask something after reading all of that it sounds realy, realy... realyrealyrealy good BUT I want to know aside the fact that brawlers will be "downsized" (or did I get that wrong?) uhm will missions have surtan requierments (sp) like 4 speed for eg.? that was the way it used to be and I think it was fun..... me thinks that is all for now![]()
