Meh. Starscream and Blitzwing look okay, I suppose... I hope the toys are better than this. If not, at least it gives me a break from buying for awhile.

Good stuff!

Starscream looks bloody great. Reminds me of Venger's little shadow buddy from the D&D cartoon. Megatron looks utterly nails...

Damn, I love that line-up. :D

I'm still a bit iffy about these designs, but I was iffy about Movie Frenzy, and he's my new favorite.

Agreed.

Blitzwing also makes me think of either Mechanicles (SP?) from the tv show of "Aladdin" or the one "smart"/snobby mummy from "Mummies Alive".

why is every cartoon made these days animated in this godawful way?

I thought Clone Wars was the worst animation you could legally get away with but this looks even worse - why cant they look...'realistic'?

WOo Megatron looks awsome! Blitzwing.. muhhh not sure about that one!

At first look I didn't like the looks of any of this, but that lasted about 5 minutes and I decided that the toys could certainly be interesting (looks like they could be poseable), and heck, more TF stuff to stir into the universe pot just makes it all better.

It's for the kids I think, not us really. This might be the style of art/cartoon kids go for these days.

No, but that makes me think of the Simpsons' episode where Homer sees him as a illusion/guide.

I know I'll probably get mashed for this, but I find myself looking forward to this series. I really like that Starscream...has a very smartass-like look to him and definitely looks like a backstabber. Megs is a very n ice balance of G1 and movie with some Armada thrown in. As long as the plots are good...CN seems to have struck a chord with the Ben-10 series and those aren't too terrible at all. Samurai Jack even did well though it was a fairly dark and complex storyline. Throw this on the tail end of the DVD release of the new movie and TF's will be a steady stream of fun for another couple years until TF 2 comes out.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Firstly, this type of animation sells shows to kids (and perhaps more importantly, teens seem to like it too).

Secondly, cartoons aren't supposed to be realistic. A cartoon is an exaggeration, a caricature. Yes, there's a place for hyper-realistic animation, but a mainstream cartoon targeted towards a young market isn't it - if they're following the Teen Titans model, which they seem to be, I'd estimate a primary target audience not much older than 9. The trick is in making it 'cool' enough to also appeal to teens and yes, maybe even to older fans as well.

Here is what I don't get. ALL the other Decepticons have a similar look. Why did they go a different route with Megatron?

It's not that I don't like the movie look, it's that everybody else in the damned show has a human look to it. But Megatron, seems to be wearing a wreath of metal spikes around his head.

I hear that Megs is in his Cybertronian design there, which he'll keep for the first season and then switch for an Earth design. Maybe ol' bucket head will be back?
