What in the seven hells? This series sounds like someone just plain old wanted to make fun of the Transformers franchise, including G1, Beast Wars and the movie.

Black Arachnia has no place here, I mean, she's a Beast Warrior! And movie Megs? WTF?

All of these characters look like Bruce Campbell. I know they've exaggerated the Transformers' chins in the past, but this is ridiculous!

I'm trying to keep an open mind, here, really I am. But it's just getting harder and harder.

Looks like I'm one of the few people who liked movie Megs design.

Anyways, Except for Blitzwing (He is the one with the monocle on right?) I like it. I just hope the show is good.

Urgh, the blue face Decepticon reminds me of Black Beard's sharp shooter in one of the most critically acclaimed anime shows that needs be seen uncut called One Piece.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Well, I didn't like these designs initially.

I thought about it for a while and said to myself "Let's see what the Decepticons look like." and so I did.

Now that they've come out, and now that I've seen them...I'm seriously unimpressed.

They're not as bad as the Autobots (which surprises me), but they're still not enough to sell the whole thing to me.

I give them credit for using Movie Megatron though. Kick ass.

However, I do realize that I've been unfair about this whole thing. It's aimed at kids, not us, but if we happen to be swept up by it along the way, okay then.

I still don't like the cartoon design, by any means. It's just not my cup of tea and I (I repeat *I*) don't like the look of the characters. I also don't care for the idea that the toys will be at least 90% accurate to the 'toon designs. (If you don't like the source material....)

Ah well, Classics/Universe 2.0 is coming, along with another movie in the works. If you guys enjoy the 'toon and the toys, more power to you. I hope you have better luck finding the toys for that, than I have trying to find '08 Bumblebee.

After looking at these designs a bit more, and thinking about it, I really don't mind them. I'm also pretty open to styles like this. I kind of like starscream's look, because he looks a lot stronger and less wimpish/whiny. And I don't mind movie Megs, so this doesn't bother me either. I'm interested to see how this cartoons ends up being. Until then I can't say to much else.

PS Listen people, this isn't G1 and it isn't trying to be.

I like the way the 'cons look... Nicely onimous. Still with they'd put more effort into Animated Prime though, the goatee alone just throws the whole thing out of whack.

From what they showed us at Botcon the toys look cool, if you are open-minded about TF toys... :-?

I'm not seeing why people are saying the wide, short, barely humanoid cyclops is more likely Lugnut than Shockwave. Overall, this looks like it could be an awesome series for people who don't have "G14evrz!@!" tattooed on their nethers.

Cause Shockwave was not to be a regular character on the show, but Lugnut is...

So there's the reason. :-? Maybe the Blitzwing, and Lugnut guys are mixed up by my analysis. Or maybe that other guy is not Megs at all, pure speculation when I named them.

So they are going to have Shockwave in it, and he's voiced by Corey Burton? That's awesome. Shockwave is in my top 3 favorite characters (together with Megs and Op)

Edit: I would also like to add that I'm glad to see some people are starting to come around. When the flyers for this show started flying there were only 2 or 3 of us that were trying to remain positive about the show. Now that more and more news has come out about it, more of us are seeing that there really is hope for this show, better yet: hope that we will get out of the fecal rut that Transformers has been in for the past five years. 8)

And it shouldn't try to be. G1 while having great animation and voice acting had crappy plots and character development. If it should be similar to any prior TF show, it should be Beast Wars.

I will more than likely watch it. Who knows I may just like it since it is very much like Batman. Not sure about the action figures but hey maybe they will turn out to be pretty bad ass. Time will tell. I will give the designers the benefit of the doubt until I see it. The list of characters is more than intriguing. Kinda of excited about it. Long live TFs!
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!
