F**king shoot me now. I quit the Spiderman franchise.

So does this mean they're gonna get Vaness Hudgens as MJ? Or Ashley Tisdale as Gwen Stacy?

Remember, you can't judge someone from just a few things. The list of really talented actors who started out doing crap is an amazingly long one.

Well yeah, Shia started off working at Disney well before Transformers. I just don't got good vibes from this...

Vibes mean nothing. I personally haven't seen him in anything, I have no idea how this will work out, but I'm hoping it will work out for the better. Remember, there's a big difference between being in a bad movie and being a bad actor.

This confirms nothing. This has been a rumor from the getgo.
Besides that, I wouldn't trust a "source" that can't get their facts straight. It says Universal studio execs were shocked when Tobey walked out...here's the problem with that... Columbia pictures, a division of SONY, is the group he and Raimi walked out on.

If they can't even get that right, I sincerely have to doubt the rest. You add in the fact that it's always been a rumor about Zac Efron and no one's confirmed it, or even close to a confirmation, and you have a rumor. Simple as that.

Besides, with a site name like that, I can't honestly take them seriously. Much like TMZ. Which should be called TMC: Too Much Crap.

Bzzurrk's given us solid Transformers comics news for the past half year.. Marvel/DC.. perhaps not so much. A grain of salt I suppose.

Seriously + really + extraordinary + ultimately shocked with Zac Efron as Spider-man.. Is there no other better actors to choose?

Yes, and I believe there was a similar argument against Michael Keaton being Batman back in the day, and look how that turned out.

I heard Vanessa Hudgens will be Mary Jane? If thats so, it will be like the kid's High School Musical just that Troy became spiderman. this whole thing is ruined.. think they making this movie for "disney" kids..

I'm more partial to the new Batman movies, but hey I didnt necessarily think Heath Ledger could pull the Joker off and he proved me completely wrong

Forget about different writers, directors, studios, etc. If a movie has two actors from another movie, that makes them the exact same!

What was wrong with Tobey Mcguire? I thought he was an excellent spiderman, and an even better Peter Parker... but now I'm going to spend the whole movie expecting Spidey to break into a song about basketball or something... what the eff?

Many of us can admit to hearing that Heath Ledger was joker in the upcoming batman and being like wtf.

I recall never knowing a thing or seen a movie with toby maguire prior to spider man. after that he was more famous.

Actually looking at him he would be, at least body wise the perfect fit! He's muscular while still being slim and not buff looking. He has a likeable face and actually kinda resembles Peter from Ultimate SM.
I don't know how his acting is as I'm not really into anything he's done but judging by his awards he's pretty good I just hope he can play the unpopular geek.

Looks like he doesnt have a life time contract with disney like Tim Allen or Eddie Murphy.

I think Mark Webb and Zac Efron will probably get a lot of flack just for not being Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire regardless of how well or bad they do.
