I fully agree and in fact that's KO'ers schtick, not Hasbro's. The most we can say is that one is simply based on the other and call it a day. Given that Voyager Starscream's age (2011'ish) based on a Reddit post earlier in this thread, it's possible that that prototype was the basis for Gen. Legends Starscream.
Up- or downsizing designs seems to be a common occurrence: Classics Optimus was upsized from Deluxe to Voyager, Universe 2008 Galvatron the other way around.

I don't think you should judge 3rd Parties based on BTS' example. They've always been on say, well... let's just say the lower tier.

Okay, then BTS needs to get their act together. But it'd still be nice to see more (read: any) non-G1 third-party Transformers.

Yeah, "Upscaled" and "Downscaled" are a bit of a misnomer. All Hasbro did was reuse the general transformation and bits of the general design, and apply it to a figure of a different size (either larger or smaller). Do we have a word for that?

Guys - do you have any thoughts on the likelyhood of us eventually receiving an MP Devastator?

I want one for sure, and would prefer an official MP.. but if that isnt likely to happen I need to seriously consider my options.

Wow, this escalated quickly.

I like a new G1 inspired Starscream, never say no to that.
However, that deluxe Armada Starscream should've been a voyager. And I know it'd be almost exactly like the original voyager one. I'd even be happy if they remold Armada Starscream with more hip/shoulder joints with backpack folding down.

Hell, I'd even go for a non-remold Armada Skywarp. Can't get over that facemask

, they almost nailed an awesome Seeker set there. Hasbro pls!

Anyone read transformers #40 yet? Starscream has a new body and it's clearly leader class jetfire's body. I think it's 100% safe to assume we will get a starscream redeco of the thundercracker jetfire retool

If they made all their alt mode bits fully functional (rotating mixer drum, extending crane arm on a pivoting base, scoop and excavator arms that actually articulate at every joint and spin at the base, dumptruck with raising bed, dozer blade that angles and raises/lowers, etc), heck yeah!

Basically, take the best ideas from Hercules and Green Giant and add in even more functional elements since they'd only need to do robot and alt modes in this scenario.

very very tempted (finances are at all time low

)

i have the original grey green starscream mp, broke a null ray too so think is very tempting esp as it's the updated version of the mould. The original was fiddly and delicate in comparison with the newer mp figures... so makes me wonder what could the designers come up with now with the experience they've amassed since the original release. Though then again it would be better they focus on non tackled characters...

You should just preorder it. They won't charge your card until it comes in stock so you have now until 10/1 st to come up with 59.99. his price will only go up! cause that's what TRU does.

- It was $63.74 with tax. I sold my Walmart Exclusive Masterpiece Starscream a year ago and never opened him. This is a bargain at $59.99 :-$

...you know it will be $79.99 shortly. I wouldn't hesitate. So what if you do not get the coronation set with this version? I'm not spending the mega bucks for the Takara. Thanks for the notification. I'm so glad I didn't bite on any of the SDCC stuff and have paid down my credit card enough to splurge a bit.

I just checked TRU last night around midnight too. Ha. As soon as I saw this go up, I hopped out of bead and ordered one. This will be my first MP Seeker, very excited. Don't they normally go for around $80 at TRU? This seems like a steal.

In Canada, he will be 90$ for sure, based on bluestreak. Still a reasonable price, considered he's a freaking LEADER class figure compared to a voyager like the car bots.

Also, my inner hipster is pleased that the coronation kit won't come with Hasbro MP-Starscream. At least, my Takara MP-11 wasnt for naught... 120$ for a cape, 2 shoulder pads and a crown is such a great deal...

I may buy the Hasbro version to keep sealed but only on sale.

You know once you add in the shipping youre probably only saving ten bucks off retail ? While im not into MP scale, I am into seekers. I wouldnt mind having this guy on my coffee table to replace the old version with the stupid sword hips. I skipped acid storm and sunstorm because hasbro butchered their paintjobs. But I might pick this guy up and hope TRU sees $$$ and does skywarp next.
