We have receive information regarding the Takaratomy Transformers Release Schedule on coming August.

Nothing really surprise on the Power of the Primes toyline as they will join the US release. The most interesting one will be the MP-42, the Japanese named: "Cordon" which is nothing named like this in past Transformers. Rumor do notice this is possible the Diaclone version of the White Color Police ver. Sun Streaker. In terms of the price range, that might be true

So, not sure why this occurred to me, but I looked up the definition of "cordon". I thought maybe it was just a name, but....

Not a word I use regularly, but now that I see it, SURE! I've heard that used in the appropriate context plenty of times.

My point? Solid clue pointing to it being the police type and not the red Diaclone.

While there are still no images to share, we do have confirmation of the listing reported on yesterday of a new Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece figure: MP-42, being a supposed redeco of MP-39 Sunstreaker in black and white police car colours, much like its Diaclone predecessor!

In more of a speculation mode: the price shown in the Japanese listing shows a 15000 Yen tag, meaning that there is an increase of 3000 Yen compared to the original Sunstreaker release - does this mean extra accessories, or some added feature? So his name actually is Cordon, as in to "cordon off" something. Interesting since that's basically what a barricade is for.

Though forced, it makes another creative entry in the G1 pantheon, wouldn't you say?

Sounds too much like Corden... which reminds me of that annoying James Corden. Which makes me think the police siren would sound like his irritating laugh. So points deducted.

Makes me think of Cordon, as in Cordon Bleu, as in it's getting to be lunch time and this car is making me hungry.

Cordon makes me think of Gordon Ramsey, which makes me think of Josh Ramsey, which makes me think of Rescue Bots, which makes me think of Chase.
Clearly Cordon is G1 incarnation of RB Chase with a new name because of the Throttlebot.

BTW, Cordon is an anagram of Condor.

So Cordon is a shattered amalgam of Laserbeak? That would make Sideswipe Buzzsaw.

Plus, they are also leaving the door open for a retool of MP Mirage for this guy, further down the line.

I don't know the context of that reference. But when it comes to altmodes, I looked it up, and they are more or less the same thing:

See? Now retools of the same mold is definitely a thing of the MP line EG Car-Bots, Seekers etc

I never said that G1 Barricade could be turned into a Masterpiece, just that the name was already occupied by a Micromaster, so it can't be used for the more well-known evil police car should he make an appearance in Japanese G1. And the "Creative Entry" was in reference to Cordon, not him.

Good job on matching the vehicle mode of G1 Barricade and Mirage btw, never knew.

I think the movies did a better job making Barricade a memorable character. Now when i hear a character with the name Barricade, I get excited.

Still totally hoping he/she is a con so it can be a G1 Barricade of slightly different origin

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian Sabrblade, hot on the heels of pre-orders, we have news from the Shizuoka Hobby Show, where MP-42 Cordon AKA Diaclone Sunstreaker has been revealed in full!

The most notable retool from the base MP-39 Sunstreaker mold is a brand new toy inspired head, featuring the detailing many missed from the inside of Sunstreaker's ears (Sunstreakears?).* Also included is a new police lightbar on the roof/chest, new shins featuring new detailing, and a new gun. This new image comes to us from @brickonator on Twitter.

That is AWESOME!!!!! I knew my patience would pay off. It has really been working for me and what I'm after to just wait and simmer on Masterpiece figures. I've handled Sunstreaker and he is beautiful. Glad I can have the mold more inline to my likings.

and I knew he'd be an Autobot. I just didn't want to poop on anybodies parade. It would have been interesting had he been a Con.

I'm actually quite interested in this, but for the price, without extensive retooling, one Sunny is good enough.

I have the original red version somewhere (one of the first TFs I can remember), so I’ll hold out until they do that deco. I’m nearly certain they will, seeing as it’s kind of the very first TF toy.

How is this not extensive retooling? New head, new gun, new legs, new chest, etc ...

It's definitely not Titans Return Scourge into Highbrow into Windblade, but it's definitely got some big things going on.

New G1 styled head is very awesome. I look forward to the inevitable MP-39+.

That head sculpt! that's the head i wanted for Sunstreaker dammit.

It pains me greatly that Sunny didn't come with a G1 toy accurate option like this for a head swap when clearly it was completely possible to do so.
