I never had the 3P HoS Optimus. But the official one look like a clown-circus train. It is too cute to be an Optimus. Also, is that OP a deluxe?
The tender is meant to be the period-appropriate equivalent of his trailer. That's why it doesn't contribute to his robot mode.durroth wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:I once had Screecher and that 3P screamers was a dangerous bundle of KNIVES. I got rid of it. Yeah, the MMC molds all have their problems. Especially Cyclops who is just a biiiiiiiit fragile... in a lot of places. Would really love a commander or leader version. (Or a re-engineered MMC version but I dont think the originals sold particularly great)
The reason Optimus looks so stubby is hes missing his full coal car. for some reason, probably budget, they chose not to include it. We'll probably get a third party version. It didn't contribute to the bot mode of the MMC version either so not a huge loss except aesthetically.

Especially the yellow highlights. Those weren't even on Optimus's design in the Hearts of Steel or Infestation 2 comics. The parts of his body that are yellow on this toy were silver in the comics.-Kanrabat- wrote:And the colors certainly does not help.

Sabrblade wrote:I guess it's because a Deluxe budget doesn't allow room for a trailer.
-Kanrabat- wrote:I bet some 3P smart-ass like D.N.A Design will make the Optimus tender.
Still, even with a tender the traintimus still look like a clown train. The thing should have been a longer vehicle, proportion-wise like Astrotrain. And the colors certainly does not help.
TlDr; The Optimus/screamers set is far weaker than the Megs/Bee set.
Regardless, I'll be getting both. I do hope I'll be able to preorder both without having to be double-charged for shipping.

Yeah, if OP's red is more muted like SSGE WFC OP that'll be slightly better. I'm gonna do my own weathering.

The second set hasn't gone up yet, indeed. It's probably a case where the first set is like Wave 1 of the line and the second set is like Wave 2.-Kanrabat- wrote:Glyph wrote:I haven't seen the Megs/Bee pack go up at all, so I'm assuming it's coming later.
That's pretty random to not put up both at the same time.
And I bet that if they do and I preorder both, they will charge both as separate orders and charge shipping twice.
Gotta push those Premium memberships, eh?

No stock photography yet, no. All that's been shown of the second set were the two individual figures on display at MegaCon. They weren't even shown in the panel's slideshow presentation. Evan simply mentioned them, verbally.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The second set hasn't gone up yet, indeed. Hasn't even had official photos released yet has it? Probably closer to SDCC or PulseCon.
