I beat the one guy so bad he actually demolished his plane. Guess he couldn't handle the rape :P (which is weird, he was a much better rank than myself)

I was thinking about building a small shield dome. Tell me how that works out (I dropped the resources on weapons and armour upgrades at the time- much more use at that stage I thought).

I'm pillaging everywhere I can in order to save up for impulse level four. I don't wanna pay meself, so the neighbours can instead

Totally worth it. I stopped a fleet of light fighters and small cargoes dead. I couldn't beat down someone else's shield with 4 cruisers, 10 heavy fighters and 30 light fighters either. All my colonies will have one of these babies. Since I regularly ferry res from colonies to my homeworld, I won't need defense as an attack on them will barely be profitable, but I won't be able to be farmed either.

Dually noted.

Once cruisers are in production, I'll fire up shields around my planets.

Out of interest, what levels are your mines at this point?

I'm all registered at homebase now.

Remember how my neighbour was constantly attacking me? He left me alone when I installed my shield. In fact, NO ONE has attempted to attack me since allowing me to build up my fleet of cruisers.

Paid another neighbour a vist, smashed his defenses to pieces and he's now gone into vacation mode.

So I went a few galaxies over, found a guy calling himself "urjustdead" ... smashed him up good and proper too.

But yes, as far as the shield goes, it seems to ward people off. Hell i've only got 6 rockets, 4 light and 6 heavy lasers sitting beneath it.

Funnily enough, I don't think you can see the shield dome when you probe someone. At least, I couldn't even though I could see his defences :-?

I say according to the battle logs on the board:
-50 Heavy Fighter OR
-30 Cruiser

On other sites I have seen the rule of five as the way to build defense
5 RL for every light laser. 5 light lasers (25 RL) for every heavy laser. all the way down the list. Use your RL as cannon fodder.

ho hum.

Not even regular raids can keep up with my thirst for advancement :?

Might work for a shield dome. Get one set up around each planet, and then just leave my mines to dig away for a few days.

Help me look for Burn!

He's in Galaxy two, in a system 'near' 222. I'm thinking maybe in or close to 214, but I still don't know...

"The Admiral" currently ranked at 4226.

You started weeks before me and i'm already ranked a good 2000 higher. :P
Though I don't think those rankings really mean much in the greater scheme of things.
