Only time they appear is near the end with their desert camo decos as well.

A fair number of arctic camo ones, though.

So I noticed Netflix has season one of RiD (i'm hoping for season two to drop soon). Before, when I tried to watch RiD, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it as much as I was used to the atmosphere in Transformers: Prime and also subsequently in a very dark mood and overall dark disposition. Prime felt to me a bit more mature. It hearkened back to my feelings on Beast Wars I had when I first watched it. Despite the problems with Predacons Rising and a few other things I do consider it in my top favorite of TF series out there.
I picked up with RiD not from where I left off (episode 15 or 16, I stopped watching it for a bit after), but from episode one again - the pilot. I'm back to where I left off last time now though after sitting back and watching. When I first watched the show I was mentally in a bad place and my moods were fickle to say the least. I had a lot of bad stupid stuff going on and the lightness helped, but I just couldn't get too into it or enjoy it like I did with Prime. My mental outlook is significantly better now than it was before. I'm not as much the embodiment of Grumpy Cat as I was then.
I have a lot more positive feelings for the RiD series overall now. I do like the lighter tone overall at the moment even though I still love Prime due to what I would consider more "mature" and "serious" tone to a point. The humor with RiD, whereas before it provided no joy, now does. Not gut-busting laughter mind you. I am more ready to crack a smile.
Has anybody else had a change of heart about RiD? Positive or negative?

Like at first I had the kneejerk reaction of "okay this isn't a good sequel to TFP at all so it just falls down immediately", but the truth of the matter is it's still a very good show - at the very least better than half the shows Transformers has had in it's long history. I still feel it's a very bad sequel; and both TFP and RiD benefit nothing from being connected and would be stronger without each other... but that doesn't stop RiD from being fun and a decent watch. It's still got it's problems aside from being a sequel (imo Drift is just really obnoxious) but it's still a fun watch. Nothing amazing or special, but it's fun.

Oh yeah! Definitely agreed. It is a crap sequel to TFP and PR. Personally I want Megatron back because I wanted his change of heart explored a bit. I mean I'm not expecting something exactly like IDW's MTMTE comics, because that's really their own thing. I just would want something exploring that angle as it would be great and unique. Despite the fact I'm a Megatron fanboy, it's definitely different for the character I feel and worth exploring.
Very much true I feel. It is one of the better shows for the entire TF series. I wasn't too annoyed with Drift actually. Though I kinda hate the way he responds to his Mini-Cons. He seems a bit of a jerkwad with them. As for other characters Steeljaw has grown on me significantly as well as Clampdown. Clampdown I love because he's almost too adorable to be a "bad guy". Why I find him adorable I can't say. Bumblebee's "roll out" bits are even providing a laugh now due to how bad they are.
But I do agree. It has definitely been a fun watch.
Tyrannacon wrote:Ah. Yeah. I do agree. Thunderhoof is interesting I admit. I do think Cryotek was the last mob boss too. I know BW Megatron was a criminal as well, but BW didn't detail it and by the time of BM it wasn't referenced at all. I know supposedly that's how Cryotek got his dragon mode apparently? Feel free to correct me if I misunderstood. Lot of that is just from goofing around TFWiki and watching the cartoons. I didn't start really doing much of the fiction until I picked up "Exodus" and "More Than Meets The Eye".
I know what you mean with Strongarm, but I do like the rapport between her and the team. I know I read somewhere that Windblade was getting an inclusion. I like her design a lot, how well is she characterized? I haven't gotten to the episodes yet where she's featured.

Sabrblade wrote:Yesterday morning's Rescue Bots episode gave us an approximate timescale for how long RID takes place after Prime: About three years later. All thanks to Bumblebee showing up again but with his voice restored (voiced by Will Friedle, WOOO!!) and referencing his new team, his new mission, his team's junkyard base, and even showing up in Drift's ship.
He was also still trying to figure out his own rally cry, so the episode at least took place during RID season 1 some time between "One of Our Mini-Cons is Missing" and the "Battlegrounds" two-part finale.
Well, remember how we saw the Omega Lock instantaneously rebuild one giant building on Cybertron in mere seconds? And how we saw it build a copy of the entire citadel of Darkmount in Nevada within a few minutes? Maybe the Omega Lock and the Well of All Sparks when working in unison can work such wonders within just a year or two.D-Maximus_Primal wrote:If it only took 3 years to rebuild like that and for all that new life to establish itself, that is a small timeline

Some people are just stubborn enough to prove themselves with as little help as possible, even if that goes against all logic and reason.Kurona wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I guess he wants to do things his way with a little human help as possible.Kurona wrote:And then all it does is emphasise the whole point of "why the heck didn't Bumblebee contact Fowler"
That doesn't make a lot of sense though. This isn't his own personal quest of self-discovery; this is stopping a ton of dangerous outlaws from doing terrible things. He needs as much help as he can get.

When Optimus reunited with Bee for the the "Decepticon Island" two-parter, despite Optimus making Bee the leader the two were still at each other's throat so much with Bee still determined to prove himself to Optimus.
Just shows how much more growth Bee has to undergo as a leader.
