I don't think I ever said or even intended to imply that Force Awakens was
ONLY for 14 year old girls - or that it wasn't for adult males either.
I just mentioned that the Movie has an appeal to those girls. and that is likely because of the female protagonist but not exclusively so either.

Neither do I feel a need to "accept" the EU is dead or never discuss anything related to or derived from it - I'm hardly unique in the mind set that regardless of what Disney say the EU stands "in Universe" until contradicted otherwise.
To do otherwise is to pretend some pretty silly things like Sith came out of nowhere sometime prior to 100BBY.
You people seem to act like I'm saying some things controversial - I'm the most reasonable person you can find - the only thing that some might wish to say is me being unreasonable is my attestation that Episode 8 & 9 will be considered a disappointment to me if they don't explain themselves somewhat better than Episode 7 does.
I could be way nastier about The Force Awakens - but why bother - I'm speaking to the converted here - I don't have any strong feelings towards it It is just one of those things that happened and time to move on - like Terminator sequels I'm not offended they exist.
But the analogy here is like saying to someone they must hate the Age of Ultron as they point out that Ultron' s character birth and evolution and motivations at points in the movie are a bit sketchy. Likewise The Force Awakens is a Movie that also fails to explain itself enough it's all well and good following the principle of "Show don't tell" - but it's not so great if you leave your audience with a great many questions and then have a track record as a studio for not often answering them in other franchises.
That is a enough I would say to maintain a feeling of reasonable concern for the future but is in no way implied to be hatred of the movie or a desire to "hang on" to the EU.
Which incidentally >IF< I wanted to do that I'd hardly be on my own fan wise.
Also I don't see why I've done anything wrong by providing a link to a site with a collection of Starfighters and Space craft or a video about atypical Star Wars Spacecraft and suggesting something along similar lines would be nice to see in future mediums.
How is either of those things in anyway supposed to be taken as an attack on The Force Awakens or some mortal sing of failing to let go - I frankly can not even contemplate explaining.
If you can please do.
