As far as I can recall, theyre actually pretty dang rare. Airachnid is a good example, but beyond that... there's the boat fembot from Cybertron, Thunderblast I think? Takara repainted Arcee into Nightbird Shadow, who was marketed as a decepticon I think but based on the not-really-a-transformer character Nightbird from the old 'toon.
Uhh... Takara's combiner Megatronia and her constituent parts? They're barely characters but rather nice toys.
Thats literally all I can think of though! No doubt I've missed some but man, I'd never even considered how few female cons there were.

Toy-wise they're practically non-existent. Another femme fatale would be BW Blackarachnia, she'd still count, BM Strika too. And don't forget the female Starscream clone Slipstream (what trait she's based on is best left unasked :-$ ), Flamewar and BH Ripclaw. Then there's BotCon Antagony. The rest is fiction-only, or repurposed.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Yeah, despite Hasbro doing a big push for more female characters; it always ends up being on the Autobot side with little leeway for the 'cons. That seems to happen in most franchises with good/evil sides that try to introduce more female characters. Probably because one of the bigger reasons for diversifying your cast is to give a more diverse audience characters to look up to.

I figured out Black Arachnia was another one I found out about. I did find out that Optimus Prime liked Elita One or one of the others; but since she's not some shapeshifter like Makeshift who can sort of turn into 5 billion modes, it's not likely some earth sentient flesh creature would get interested. One reason I brought up the subject of female Decepticons is because it seems like there was one sea going alt mode, and it's hard to say which side would get jealous of another Transformer for that reason.

Well I had to revise my the number of Transformers, so it's hard to say how many I have. I found a few more. I'm sure I counted that one from the Power core Transformers, which is the Autobot that looks like he turns into one of those vehicles like Onslaught; but I forgot to count the little one that went with this helicopter one that I don't have anymore and the little one that went with this one; and I found the Kay-Bee toys exclusive Micro Master Autobot Groove that I had been missing and that mini-con triple changer Prowl. Factor in the three TTC duplicates, and you'll have the number, but those are giveaways.

I managed to get that side of Broadside fixed. It turned out the way I had it snapped into place was the one. After I adjusted the one front or back side of the ship, I found I could move the side that had the flap down and move that section up. Broadside and Sandstorm didn't come with instructions when I got them. I tried guessing about Broadside's jet mode based on the way the G1 version transformed and found what looked like landing gears faced up.

Does anyone ever get burned out when buying those Transformers or whatever you call those figures if you include Machine Robo? I wish there was a word that could apply to all those kinds of toys. That's the way it is with me. I know that little Kay-Bee exclusive Micro Master Autobot Groove wouldn't sell for enough money to make me a cashaholic because the whole set of those is maybe $40, which can sound like a lot of money even after paying for those if I could find a seller that would just take the cash or whatever. What burned me out was getting Sandstorm and Broadside with no instructions, but it wouldn't make much difference because then I'd see more of those I want.

Those are probably the support struts for his carrier mode (to keep it from wobbling/tipping over). I guess they do look a bit like landing gear but they're meant to be used with the carrier mode, not the jet.

"Transforming figures". I haven't ever really gotten burned out myself, but I can see how one would I suppose. Collecting can get pretty tiring, especially if you aren't in a position to keep up with everything (i.e. if you have a life :P ).

Quick question about the SEACONS. So a good handful of years ago I purchased one of the "G1 Reissue" gift sets on ebay. Thing looks exactly just like the BBTS exclusive version. I believe the date on the box is 2011 or so. Only thing is, mine does not have the BBTS exclusive sticker on it nor did it come from BBTS but rather, a seller on ebay overseas(Taiwan or somewhere). Are these the same thing? Legit? Or cruddy fake? I've never opened it but I'm not noticing a difference from the BBTS exclusive other than there being no sticker stating as much.

I did a look at your profile, and you might get burned out if you get serious enough and are still into them by the time you're my age. I know there are people who are into them that are older than me; but since not everyone here has their age up, I haven't seen or. I know Burn is in his 40's, but he's younger than me.

One particular Transformer that I like is Tankor because I showed it to someone, and he hadn't seen it. This one's a double changer instead of a triple changer, and it can be turned into a tank. Has anyone else here heard of him?

By the way, in response to having someone in line ask if things are for your children, I have been asked that before. But I'm not sure the answers now get the same reactions they did a decade ago. More people are into(as I believe was previously stated) toys and cartoons and comics than there used to be. With all the super hero movies, it's made people I personally know turn into big fans, even if they used to give me grief for being one. TRU actually has an entire area where it's all action figures for older collectors. I mean, yes, maybe your child really did love Predator or the old school Godzilla movies. But I find it hard to believe that is the rule and not the exception. Necca has done wonders for the movie buffs!

But for those people who give you crap, they are either trying to get a rise out of you or they are the type who no matter what you tell them, will never truly understand. There are a lot of people who think anything they are not into or they do not like is stupid. And I would hazard a guess that just about every single person acting like that has some sort of hobby or thing they like to do that we would find equally stupid and a waste of money. Arguing with those types or, in some cases, even trying to explain it, can be a real waste of time.

The one time this happened to me was in 1993 when I was 13. Though I wouldn't call it being disrespected if I was asked today. In fairness I was 6'2" tall at the time (I'm 6'7" now) so I probably did look like an adult to most people. I only remember the year because I was buying yellow G2 Constructicons at Kmart at the time. I was standing at the checkout and the old guy in front of me quite seriously asked if they were for my kids. I told him no, they were for me, and he says, "oh, I guess that's OK sometimes, too." Nobody ever asked again, but I usually use the self checkout when I can anyway.

Oh, and I found you some more female Decepticons.

In all seriousness, did anyone mention Nightracer? Did I miss her? And Fracture? Also, sometimes Spaceshot.

I don't even have kids of my own to be buying Transformers for. For one thing it's hard to for me to get a girl to give me a chance, and adoption's expensive. The extras I get will go to my mom's grandkids. I should buy more TTC Transformers because I only have three; and if I give a Transformer to one kid that's a great niece or nephew, I have to give ones to all of them. I have five of those; and there's one I'll probably never see, which kinda sucks; but maybe sending her a present will make that happen. Expecting it to happen isn't right; but if it happens, then that's good.

Does anyone know what the most common alt mode Hasbro's got for Transformers? If I were to guess, I'd say that cars are probably the most common alternate mode even though they range from a number of things from beasts to cities and even a toaster. The toaster one was a bit of a surprise, and it almost makes me wonder if they'll come out with ones that turn into other non-working kitchen appliances like microwave ovens toaster ovens, or blenders. It seems like the toaster came around when they were releasing Armada ones, but I could be wrong. I wish I would've had the toaster one, but I was living with the mom, and she didn't want me overdoing it. Are there any plans to release more scout class Transformers? It looks like they have some now, but they're all one steps, and I don't want to waste ten dollars for a one step Transformer. That was back in the preteen and teen years when I got excited over the Gobot Scales and the Transformer Twin Twist. One was a jump starter, and the other was sorta like a jump starter, so it was a fairly new gimmick at the time.

These three links might provide some insight if you were curious about which modes are most common (down to individual model for the vehicular ones).

What used to be the "Scout" class is now best approximated by what's currently called "Legends" class. (Which is different from the other size-class that used to be called "Legends" and is now termed "Legion". Confusing enough for you?) Things like Titans Return Bumblebee, Brawn, Gnaw, and the modern T30/CW/TR Insecticon updates all fall under that new Legends class, and it's a size-class that has some quite good figures if I say so myself!

(Also, I believe the toaster-bot (Ejector?) came out during the RoTF toyline; so around 2009, a fair while after Armada.)

I wonder how much Ejector would cost. As near as I can tell, cars are the most common mode. I haven't seen Gnaw and don't usually buy them, but I might make an exception if I find one. If they would put out an Ejector that turns into a working toaster and I could find one in the store, I'd probably get it if it was within my budget. That Micro Master Defensor set that I'm wanting is a little expensive, but I believe I could swing it.

If money is a problem the individual components aren't all that expensive or hard to find complete so just pick up a few at a time until you have them all. Older and vintage items don't fluctuate terribly quickly so patience can be to your advantage.

But you know how can be with picking up that vintage set. Unless you have a bank account and know what the bank statement is, it makes it a little more stressful; and even going to get a money order and mailing it can be tiring if you do it enough times. Even though I have Autobot Groove, I'm missing the accessory that came with him. I don't need it to turn him into a motorcycle, but I'd probably need it to combine with the others to form Defensor. I was trying to join some Hot Wheels discussion forum and got frustrated with the first few, but I noticed one had something where you could enter your name to win free prizes. Even though Hot Wheels aren't as fun to play with, it would be cool if Seibertron.com did that; but I won't waste time begging.

What micromaster defensor are your talking about ?

The one from 2004 ? it's not yet really vintage or popular, you can get it on ebay for 60$ shipped. (there's even an auction at 25$ currently).

Instead of purchasing every 5$ bots you find around (tiny turbo changers and stuff), spare money for two weeks and you can get it.

It's this one. Now you know how I feel about buying things from eBay. Even if I did have PayPal, I already looked on eBay and couldn't find it. Besides, my hobbies aren't limited to buying Transformers because I also like to read Star Trek and Green Lantern comics.

Because you searched "micromasters defensor", which do not really exist under this name.

Search "Universe Defensor" or "Energon defensor".

The energon was a package with all 6 inside, the universe were the individual packages.

That's a little helpful, so thank you kindly; but I am gonna have to get toys for the other kids who are related to me out of fairness. I imagine you'd probably feel left out if an uncle bought a sibling of yours a present and didn't get anything for you for Christmas.

How many Transformers are able to be transformed with one hand? I know I can transfer the TTC Autobot Hound, and yes I did figure it out without looking at the directions, and I'm not saying that to brag because there are probably a lot of people who can do the same thing.

I just want to update the question about how many Transformers can be transformed with one hand. Ones sold by themselves are what I meant, so that should leave out all target masters and Headmasters; and I imagine people could do it with a G1 Topspin or Twin Twist.

Pretty much anything is transformable with one hand if you have enough patience and determination. ;)

But seriously I think that as you start looking at smaller figures you're going to have an easier time transforming them with a single hand, simply because as TFs get larger you need more force to move the parts (to the point with most figures that you'll need a second hand just to help apply the forces correctly). I believe the old Activators from Transformers Animated ("old", for figures from <10 years ago, I'm really showing my age aren't I  ) would be possible to transform one-handed, but only from vehicle to robot probably - you'll have to pay a little more attention to convert them back I imagine, since they're only spring-loaded one way. Can't think of any others off the top of my head but I'm sure there are plenty of Transformers that you could do one-handed, albeit probably with at least a little bit of difficulty.

Well I can't imagine how someone could transform a big one like TM Quickswitch with just one hand.

I listened to a gospel song that's very catchy, and it's known as The Cartoon Song. It tells how various cartoon characters would sing praise if they got saved. Chris Rice is the singer who recorded it. I don't know why whoever wrote it included Kermit the Frog when he's not even a cartoon character, but it does make me wonder how Transformers would sound since they've been cartoon characters for a long time. The toys probably may not be in Heaven unless you know something about theology, but I don't know that for sure of course. I just know that I can't take some of my favorite ones with me and have to trust in the Lord for entertainment in Heaven, but it would be interesting to hear how Peter Cullen and Frank Welker would sound if they did the voices of the two Transformer leaders and sang praise.

I got another question. I know the Gobots put out Water Walker who turned into a sea plane, but I don't know if they've done that with Transformers. My main question is why they don't offer people who go on trips overseas that form of transportation instead of those big jets that aren't as safe. If nothing else, they could turn jumbo jets into sea planes. They may not fly as fast, but they'd be a lot safer. I remember when passengers on a jumbo jet got scared because the captain or whoever issued a false alarm by mistake about having to ditch the plane while flying over an ocean. That would pretty much be a death sentence for most or everyone on board, and drowning sounds like a scary way to go. If they used sea planes, they could at least radio for help; and there'd be a lot less chance for fatalities.
