Sabrblade wrote:Not when they all had sufficiently different altmode designs and engineering from the contemporary Siege toys.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The thing is, this is Hasbro competing with itself since every one of these reissues so far completely overlap with the Kingdom offerings 100%.
The Soundwave reissue overlapped, as did Starscream and Optimus Prime.
Plus, let's not kid ourselves, here. The G1 toys are worlds more different from the Generations toys of today compared to the original Beast Wars molds that have much of the same quality and spirit as today's Generations toys.

Intah-wib-buls?

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
That is not what we were talking about. I've nothing against the idea of BW reissues. I'm a BW kid. Heck, look at my Maximal avatar and faction.Dead Metal wrote:It doesn't really matter. Beast Wars is now 25 years old. Reissues were a no brainer. And as pointed out there are plenty of G1 reissues that get released alongside modern incarnations.
These appeal to people like me who grew up with Beast Wars.
The modernised ones grab your attention, and then the nostalgia attack of these will hit you in the face and pull you in.
I hope these will also get oldschool European packaging, gotta love yourself some Bio Combat.

What we were discussing was the validity of whether or not the Transmetals would have been a better option for the BW reissues. I argue they would since they wouldn't have been as redundant as the Season 1 toys when compared to the offerings of the Kingdom line, and would have even finally given us a GPS-free Transmetal Megatron, something that people who were never able to get the 1999 GPS-free Takara version have been wanting for years.

If only the same could have been said for the 20th anniversary. BW got nothing at all from Hasbro that year cuz Hasbro instead wanted to celebrate TFTM's 30th anniversary.Dead Metal wrote:It makes more sense like this. 25 anniversary of the original line, so we get updates and reissues.
To be fair, there was also the 2014 reissue Takara put out for their Legends line, which used the retooling of the Reborn/10th Anniversary version.Dead Metal wrote:This year we can get a Classics Optimus Primal, a reisdyof the original and I believe the MP was also reissued.
Mever got an original Primal, so I'm stocked to get another chance.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:The chosen reissues are completely redundant. Megs and Cheetor couldn't be anymore inferior to the Kingdom ones. Meanwhile, although classic Gorilla Primal was one of the best of the original line. To have either the Kingdom one or the MP, you're frankly wasting your money on him.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Whereas these guys getting reissues would be infinitely more appealing to the collectors they are trying to reach.
AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Barney Megatron is a bad figure. Arguably the worst Predacon design of the original line. Mostly due to his gimmick and bizarre colour palette. The fact that the Kingdom one has two actual arms, makes him better by default.
The chosen '96 figures only really hold up with nostalgia goggles on. The ones from that initial line that still genuinely impress were unfortunately not show characters.
Just reusing the same Primal visual design they have been churning out again since PoTP, is both lazy and far too safe. Since they are already using the Season One designs again in Kingdom. There is nothing special about them to mark the anniversary by showing the same things. Two and a half decades removed.
Whereas these guys getting reissues would be infinitely more appealing to the collectors they are trying to reach.
Overcracker wrote:While I agree Transmetal Re-issues would have been great.
Its the 25th anniversary of the Beast wars launch. Re-issuing figures from 2 years into the Beast wars line, seems unlikely.
Maybe in 2023 for the Transmetal 25th anniversary.
Note that the original Cheetor uses 3mm fist holes and pegs, Kingdom Cheetor has 5mm so he can't hold the original's weapons.blackeyedprime wrote:Cheetor might sell just for those who want his gun,

Yup. Kingdom Cheetor can't hold those guns.
He can however hold Masterpiece Cheetor's tail gun quite well.![]()

Unfortunately, back during the 10th Anniversary line, Hasbro went looking for that mold and either couldn't find it or it was lost beyond recovery.GrangerPerry wrote:Or a states release for the first time of ravage would be nice
