Galvatron Unicron Companion Pack Available again on Hasbro Pulse

Postby william-james88 » Fri Feb 18, 2022 2:53 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
While this was not a cheap item, it still sold out rather quickly the last time it was up. For those that missed out, the Galvatron Unicron companion pack is available again on Hasbro Pulse. This is the redeco of Galvatron in a purple and clear platic colour scheme to represent when Megatron was being reformatted, plus it comes with a bunch of small figures to go with Haslab Unicron.

The toy is 57.99 and you can get it here:

A purchaser on Youtube said the Galvatron/Unicron pack figure does NOT glow under black light, making it an easy pass. Only a cool, tron-like glow would cause me to get a Galvatron repaint ;).

Well BZ finally arrived. It's kind of late though, so probably no pics until tomorrow. I can confirm however that the box is at least the exact same size as past Generations Titans. ( I was curious because Legacy Selects Lift Ticket did reduce deluxe box size to reduce waste)

Got Black Zarak today but haven't had a chance to open the box. I'm more concerned about the box from Pulse being able to hold Scorponok, Omega Supreme, and Zarak; I have space issues. For those that have busted out Zarak, is the main body all in one piece, or do you have to connect the tail like on Scorponok?

I would think it's all in one piece, but the tail's folded out: a video review showed he's boxed in robot mode, but with the head off.

The head is in a small separate cardboard box, the tail is separate ( Same as ER Scorponok). Sorry I've been super busy, not sure when I can get pics up. I kind of wish the collar guard had been omitted. Because of the different shape of BZs head, there's no place for the collar in robot mode

Got my zarak today and he is so good :-D

Just a heads up to people who are getting it, there are some parts on both headmasters that are prone to falling off, the tiny headmasters arms have fallen off in the big bodies' neck port and the small black panels on the sides of the large head/red arm shield/panels fall off pretty easily if you move them.

Already almost lost the tiny headmasters' arms already so wanted to bring it to everyone's attention.

So , finally got some pics. Yes the BZ head is VERY fiddly. 3 parts fell off while I was trying to reattach one other. :HEADHURTS:

Other than that, the main body is great. Tight joints, even better than ER Scorp. Guessing it was all the retooling of the head, which looks amazing,I just won't be transforming it very often.

Also now that we have generations updates for all 9 Destron Generals, some 3p company is leaving money on the table not giving us capes, accessories, and royal garb for these guys.

True. On it's own, I think TR/Legends Overlord isn't a bad toy, it's actually pretty fun. But in scale with others...I'd definitely be up for a CC update, but there's still plenty of other characters that haven't had a Generations toy at all I'd rather have before we get a new Overlord.

Rodimus Prime wrote:BZ looks great! I hope you have those shelves properly secured.

My wife actually designed the shelf, and my father-in-law helped me install. He is the king of overcaution when it comes to construction. We are helping him build a deck. I'd say he uses 2-3 times more screws and nails than code requires, and extra supports. When we put that shelf up, he had to be absolutely certain the screws were going into studs, and it is one of the most secure shelves I've seen. We have others placed throughout the garage for storage. We recently had to remove one to move an appliance. After removing all the screws, the shelf stayed attached to the wall merely by friction! And it took more force than expected to pry it from the wall, so yeah, I think we are pretty safe. Now a good earthquake could probably cause some of the smaller toys to take a dive, so getting a piece of clear solid plastic is my next goal (since transparent aluminum hasn't been invented yet ;) )

Overlord needs to be redone as a commander.
Ginrai as well the TR one was horrible. Ginrai should be a commander by himself with a voyager Godbomber included in the box. That pack could have its own price point.

That'd make him tower over HasLab Victory Saber. God Ginrai is supposed to be the same height as Star Saber and other normal-sized Combiners. The Legends one we got was the right size, but it's main problem was its over-engineering that made it very unstable. A more solidly-constructed one at the same size is what we need.

The only retools we get out of Selects are small tooling changes like new heads and such.

Takara were the ones who did the heavy retools for Selects, but they ended their line.

I see. So the chances of a brand new Overlord (or even Thunderwing) are very slim, without any onscreen representation.

From Hasbro's perspective, they'd be like "We just did a perfectly good Overlord back in Titans Return." And he's no big name character they'd be willing to redo every year like Megatron and Starscream.

Indeed. That's the flipside to the eternal reuse of Megatron and Prime in the shows. A lot of other characters have been sidelined as they keep the same leaders all the time.

I just did some checking for my own curiosity. Overlord hasn't been onscreen since Zone(1990) - 32 years now. Meanwhile, Thunderwing has never been onscreen. Straxus too. But I talk about those two specifically, as both would fit with Commander Class figures.

Technically, Overlord has had screentime more recently by being in the Prime Wars Machinima stuff.

Now whether that representation is actually helpful is a different story.

The main challenge will be to find a way to have the right parts count for the pricepoint. Ideally, Ginrai should be a leader. But how to respect the leader budget when leader Optimus came with a margarine container as a trailer? But if Ultra Magnus was possible, I don't see how a Ginrai in the same size as Magnus couldn't be possible. At worst, he could be a Commander simply due to the parts count. Add a voyager "weaponizer" Godbomber and I don't think he'll be that huge. He'll be on scale.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Was that ever confirmed, or just assumed since nothing new has been announced in quite a while? Since "Brand Unification" starting with PotP, the few unique offerings we got from TT Selects (as opposed to Hasbro Selects), really filled in some nice wants in my collection. The prospect of that ending is very sad indeed.

I mean Hasbro offering BZ was great for sure, but future offerings like the idea of a Dinoking/Monstructor that would be heavy retools of PotP Dinobots and Terrorcons probably isn't feasible via Hasbro, only TT would tackle such a challenge. Or Haslab...which presents other challenges.

In addition to what Nemesis Primal said about Foghorn Overlord being in Machinima's Prime Wars Trilogy cartoon, Thunderwing did get some motion picture action in Transformers Prime: The Game, which features some rather cinematic cutscenes and almost all the same voice cast as the show (though, no toy was ever made of him, either).
