The original Fracas had a single barrel, no idea why the Siege version used two.

This is more-or-less an odd look back, but the BBTS sale that is going on was newsed a while ago, and while it is so late in the day, I encourage anyone, if you have hesitated on Black Zarak and you have the funds, go for it. This is on par with the best deals I've seen on this great toy.

As an European (or Canadian) that head alone will cost as much as the whole toy itself shipped. If not more.
Still expensive for an American, but the price would be much more reasonable because of the dramatically reduced shipping price.

Regardless, I don't think some Chinese company will ever make such an head so Shapeway may be the only solution.

I just opened Cyclonus and I'm NOT happy.

First, the stickers sheet have a huge peice of tape on it, rendering it useless. Thanks a lot!

Then, not only most joints are not that tight, but the pin joint on his left arm is completely loose. As in move freely at the slightest breeze. How can I fix that without making a mess?

Sticker tape monster got me too, but I was able to carefully rescue them and get the tape off, but it took like 10 minutes.

I've heard multiple complaints about the loose left arm on Cyclonus as well. Definitely not a good look for Hasbro on this one.

Looks like the pin itself have noth8ng to do with the loose articulation on Select Cyclonus. It's that mushroom peg. Sou you just need to put a drop of liquid Crazy-Glue on it then turn the arm at that joint like mad until it completely dry and no longer smell.

The tightness then become perfect.

As for the stickers, despite having succeeded in removing thay stupid scotchtape and salvaging the stickers, those are crap and I'll just wait for Toyhax to come up with a set.

Considering no Diaclone figure is going to be made from the cab over crane/firetruck, and since he really has no good place to go in my collection, he has ended up here. I think he still fits in nicely

I see they fixed the sticker sheet for the actual release. Thank Primus.

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I just gotta say, I really wish Selects Cyclonus would have been Kingdom Cyclonus, this paint job is infinitely better than the retail one, and I actually like this one, a lot. This works so well.

also, I wish it had an IDW head, it would work!

Image
Myself, I prefer purple wings to gray. And at least lilac Cyclonus is more justified than lavender Galvatron (that's just Takara's color guide being screwy).

As for an IDW head, you could just hack away the cheeks, and hack or file away at the horns to make them more IDW-pointy. :-P

-Kanrabat- wrote:I'm wondering.
Would there be any point in a "G1 toy accurate" Select voyager Scourge?

Or is SS86 Sweep already it?
SS86 Sweep is already it, minus the ugly stickers.

Emerje wrote:
AcademyofDrX wrote:I really hope we get a magenta Hot Rod and a grey Blurr, though I don't think either are very likely. My planned Marvel UK shelf will have Galvatron, Scourge, Cyclonus, Springer, and Kup already, so I'm most of the way there.

We do have a Hot Rod coming in the Velocitron line and we know the design team wanted the SS86 figure to be magenta before higher ups ignored the whole point of SS and made them do toy colors instead so it's possible that the design team pitched the movie colors to Walmart.

Emerje
1. Boy is this hilarious in hindsight.
2. Also, boy were you talking out your exhaust port by calling SS86 Hot Rod "toy colors". :-P Everything besides being red (which is a light red, unlike the toy's darker red) instead of magenta, is based on the movie colors.

And I also agree, this color us much better than the Kingdom version. This will be my comic Cyclonus rep, while the Kingdom figure will go on my movie shelf.

f I chose one I'd choose the selects, definitely a better color scheme. I always thought Cyclonus was more purple, while scourge was more blue (based on the seekers they were reformatted from), but obviously Studio Series 86 though otherwise. but there is always Sweep.
O... kay? How is the dark blue SS86 Scourge more purple than the lilac Kingdom Cyclonus? :???:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:The original Fracas had a single barrel, no idea why the Siege version used two.
Because there are only two gun Battlemaster molds (well, three if you count Rung): Firedrive and Blowpipe, the latter having alternate limbs for an attempt at Aimless (which unfortunately are referenced from the Legends mess instead of the proper aimless). Firedrive was picked for Fracas based on helmet shape. Of course, you could just get the cheap tiny China-made G1-based Fracas.

So after a year and a half I finally have this big boy completed. Probably the most stable and best looking combiner from the Prime Wars. Overbite is not a very good gun, I'll probably keep him separate.

All said and done, about $550US shipped. But now that he's finished, I don't regret it. I'm just still pissed at Hasbro for not rereleasing Overbite and Tentakil. And in hindsight, I should have bought Tentakil first, and then I might not even have bothered with Overbite.
