Yeah, but the others we knew about beforehand from official announcements. This one just showed up out of the blue without any kind of warning or fanfare.

Yeah, and there's 11 of them there, clearly someone bought one, but that breaks down to either 4 or 6 solid cases (I forget if they were doing 2 or 3 to a case back then). What are the chances that Target would just find a stack of them in the back unaccounted for for 7 years or they were found at a warehouse and didn't get liquidated? Seems unlikely. They'd have to be in the computer and planogram, too, right?

Nobody knew this was coming, but it might be at a Target near you. Completely announced by Target or Hasbro there have been multiple sightings now of Power of the Primes Evolution Optimus Prime from 2018. The figure and packaging appear to be unchanged and a straight reissue with no obvious changes to the figure or the package. It's a surprise to say the least in a year that's already heavily saturated with Prime figures.

Pictures come from Reddit users _LigerZer0_, Clear-Bench-4202, and most impressively RooptorRed who found 11 of them in a display. And you can let us know if you find them in stores by posting in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums.

Yeah if I see it on clearance I'm picking one up as well. The truck mode was good, as was Orion Pax. Never cared for the super mode.

Very interesting choice for a Prime Wars reissue...it's a pretty good figure honestly at least. I do have the Star Convoy retool so I probably won't pick this up, but neat for anyone that missed out!

It makes sense to rerelease the most widely distributed Orion Pax toy just in time for Orion's turn on the big screen. Now if only Optimal Optimus and Battletrap would show up in a movie...

...as a Transmetal and Duocon, that is. That was not intended as a ROTB diss, since I actually like that movie.

Just realized, this kind of reminds me of that time Toys'R'Us suddenly started carrying Armada Unicron 5 years later. Were any of those in Armada packaging instead of Universe, or was that just a rumor based on the shelf tag saying "Armada Unicron"?

I remember seeing it in box at either SDCC or Pulse on thinking they're releasing MP10 again. My jaw hit the floor when I realized that was the new Prime. One other thing that I remember that everyone had an issue with, was the Cab Orion Pax robot was super floppy. It was only surpassed by the Star Convoy release.

It does have some issues, but it's very nice Prime in full Prime mode.

Yes the hip ball joints are annoying, the messy cab, and weak ankles.

But he very much looks the part and overall is a spot on G1 Prime in evolved robot mode.

He is also a ton of fun to mess around with.

All of these annoying issues were fixed for the Nemesis Prime version. I highly recommend it.

Plus, the gaps filler upgrades are still available at AliExpress for both POTP Optimus and his Nemesis. They are really worth it.

Hear hear! I don't really care for the original because... it doesn't hit me quite right, possibly because Optimus himself is an unevolved character, unlike Rodimus Prime, Optimal Optimus and Star Convoy. :-?

Here's my progress so far on painting up POTP shells with 3D-printed fronts by Mini Mondo Mayhem,and custom backplates of Cyber Planet Keys and the Guiding Hand by Prize Inside (Trent Troop).

Each shell will either hold a bot with a Prime Master, Headmaster, Cyber Planet key (backpack), or Guiding Hand (backpack).
