Dear Hasbro,
y'know how GI Joe Resolute was f'ng awesome? Please apply the same formula to the Transformers brand and reap the benefits of having a show that respects those who've been with the franchise since the start. I won't even mind if it is a one-off like Resolute, or even if it's alongside yet another kiddie TF show. Hell, Beast Wars was kiddie-TF but it still managed to be entertaining and respectful. Good stories with G1-like characters need not be confined to comics.
So once again:
EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T G1 SUCKS.
OK, Hub is a KIDS channel. KIDS. CHILDREN. MINORS. UNDER THE AGE OF 10. Go look at the package for GI Joe Resolute. What does it say? Anyone? ANyone? PG-13. PG-flippin THIRTEEN. You're not going to put something aimed at the middle TEENAGE BRACKET on a channel aimed at KIDS UNDER TEN.
THe more I read these forums, the more I want to tell Hasbro, "Just do something completely different. Screw the collectors. Screw the fans. You don't need them. Kill Optimus Prime. Make a Kiss PLayers series. Voice Optimus Prime with Bobcat Goldthwaite! Create Teletubbie Transformers!" All I ever see on here is whining...good god, people GROW UP! WHY should Hasrbo listen to you, especially when EVERYTHING THEY DO is met with whining, crying, gnashing of teeth, "You destroyed my childhood". The only way Hasbro can ruin your child hood is if they built a flippin time machine and went back in time and did Michael Jackson things to you! If you can't handle it, let it go. Start acting like grownups and quit your whining.
Ok, I'm sorry. I lmao at this post. Calm down there, take a deep breath. It's the internet, not something to loose your s**t over.
As far I'm concerned, I like the designs, think there great, it's the "Human Drama" part that gets me. Yeah, yeah, I know it's on Earth, I get it. Can't avoid humans, kids need something to relate to. But why do the Transformers, the titular characters of the show(and this goes for the movies too), take a backseat to the human characters? The whole "cuz it's on Earth" argument gets thrown right out the window when you sit and watch Animated. Took place almost completely on Earth, heavy human involvement, yet the show was still about the Transformers, the titular characters of the series. And guess what, it was good, no it was GREAT. Best series since Beast Wars imho. Why, cuz it had intelligent writing. It had balance. And ultimately, it was still about the Transformers. Can you say that about the films, hardly. Hell, ROTF was a romantic teen comedy with giant robots in the back ground. Good portions of the movie were centered around the Sam/Mikala relationship/love story. Yeah, it's geared towards kids, they need something to relate to, but that kind of writing is an insult to even my 3 year old's intelligence(he's very smart for 3, but he is still just 3) And 2 of the "writers" responsible for that are working on TF: Prime. And yes, while kids need something to relate to, when a show is called Transformers, yes even kids want that show to be about just that, what it's called.
Will I give the show a chance, yes. I am a Transformers fan, so I will. But do I have my hopes up for it, no. I like the look(I love the movie designs, they make great toys), but when I see "More Human Drama" and Orci/Kurtzman's name attached to it, I have a real strong feeling that it won't be near as good as the last series, Animated. And yes, I get it's for kids, but kids shows have been and can be smart, like Animated.
Ok, go ahead and tear my post to shreds, cuz I know it's gonna happen. I've said my peace.
