See, we know that there are good stories and good characters in Transformers. We know they can be so much better, and still be mindless popcorn flicks. Yet all we get is boobs, mindless explosions for the sake of explosions, random closeup shots of female ass, and border line racist jokes and characters.

We could be getting so much more, but get so little. I say this as a guy who enjoys Boobs, ass, explosions, and borderline racist jokes and characters. Its time for more.

As much as the repetition of those elements makes me not like the franchise so far, the repetition of the 'criticism' has also tired me to no end. I get it. I do, seriously. But I'm tired of both sides.

Do I like the films? No. I have a soft spot for the first one, but that's it.
Do I report on the news? Yes, it's what we do.

Do I enjoy dreading the first comment every time one of the team, including myself, makes a new post? Guess.

It's just...

We've seen a teaser. A logo. Three tweets. I get it. Bad memories, bad feelings, bad expectations. And the positive side, incarnated in one user on the boards, does nothing to help. So here I am, expected to report news that I have little investment in with a smile on my virtual face, and I'm faced with ..this thread. And every other thread like it.

(brb, hiring new staff for film only purposes... :saint:

Ah yes, another movie, another horrible time to be Burn. I love you Burn, I just want you to know that, and I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all this again.

Aside from that, I think the new font or logo or what have you looks lame, I think the subtitle is lame, but that won't matter. It's not exactly like the subtitle of these movies really matter that much or give any usable information. They probably just chose them because they sound somewhat cool. "Dang bros, Dark of the Moon is sooo awesome sounding!!!" Sure, but what does it mean? "Nah bro, it sounds AWESOME!!!!"
I sometimes wish I could believe that the greatest movie of all time was coming based on a subtitle, like this other guy does, but I'm rational.

Here's how I see it:

1st movie: Okay.
2nd movie: Bad, but at least the writer's strike provided a reason for it.
3rd movie: Good.
4th movie: Where plots go to die.

So if the 5th movie follows the pattern of odd-numbered movies getting better and even-numbered movies getting worse, the 5th one should be very good.

To those who say can It get any worse please note that this isn't the worst case scenario by a long shot and the writers have a very hard task of trying to get as many people into the theaters as possible. Could they be better, of course there is always room for improvement but these movies aren't the worst thing to grace the cinema screen. We have to remember that outside the fan base and before these movies what people thought of an idea of a transformers movie, a hour and a half long advert for toys. Sad thing is that will always be the case as this is a toy franchise at heart and we are (sorry to generalise here) all adults who collect kids toys.

Now, you can compare these to the mcu if you wish but the comparison isn't exactly fair, as the mcu (or xmen, etc) have a lot more history to them then our brand and in terms if movies, and toys are only a sideline for Disney.

I'm rambling on again but to those who don't like the movies it's okay to state your opinion that you don't like them but don't act like they are destroying the franchise, as these movies are just doing what they were supposed to do, sell toys.

It's expanding on a previous plot thread and it's got a lot of potential. I'm guessing the knights are the primes, which would make sense thematically.

Since we know basically nothing about the film, it's a bit stupid to start complaining about this face. It could be Nemesis, a Clone (which has G1 precedence), or even another knight. Wait a bit before yelling at it guys.

Also, i'm totally with Sly here. As one of the few who finds the movies to be not just good, but great, i'm pumped! :DANCE:

Mostly agree...

1st: good
2nd: no plot, but action packed, start to finish
3rd: okay
4th: terrible. Boring story and none of the characters were likable. The humans were boring and/or douchey, the Autobots were pricks...they even managed to make Optimus Prime someone you didn't want to root for, and the Decepticons were generic. They only thing they did any sort of decent job with was the story of how Galvatron came to be.

Hot on the heels of yesterday's reveal that Transformers 5 shall be called The Last Knight we have a little tidbit of information that may or may not be related. Spotted in Detroit by the Live Action Movie Blog is none other than our Movie Prime's Trailer from Dark of the Moon! Now, considering Prime did take off into space and he didn't use the trailer in Age of Extinction, this could be something completely different and unrelated, but worthy of note, especially considering The Last Knight is set to begin filming very shortly. The trailer is also missing its Autobot symbol on the front, but given the range of visual differences between movies, everything is subject to change.
