I love the face the horse mode can balance so well, they made a special extra effort there!

Well hey! If you make an articulated horse toy that can't rear majestically, you're doing it wrong.

Definitely not a fan of that one.

Same. I like the corresponding Megatron, but...

I haven't touched either of them for a while, but I do remember being disappointed by both (given how good the originals are)

I will no doubt be setting them up this weekend (provided I don't end up in the emergency department again like last week) so I'll see if my opinion has changed.

Well, I own both molds and I think on the 10th anniversary Megatron the tail is decidedly less awkward. And he has the left hand the original was intended to have but lost during development.

Man, BWN was a crazy line. I still want Guiledart and Killer Punch. Also I do kinda want that reissue of Big Convoy, he looks great too.

Mach Kick though, putting aside that his transformation is apparently a royal pain in the backside, his weapon mode makes the other weapon modes look sensible. Cohrada I can see as a sentry turret, Break is a questionable but passable gun, Stampy is a kinda neat scissor weapon, Longrack could work as a sort of crane and Mach Kick is...a mangled, dismembered horse carcass?

Japanese naming conventions are very strange for Transformers. Though I can't complain given they gave us the undiluted awesomeness that is KILLBISON.

Plus the Japanese gave us Star Saber and Victory Leo, and of course every Japanese super (and real robot) anime.

Ahem

Once I'm okay with money again I'm jumping back on with Beast Wars (and select Beast Machines)

True story: Generations Cheetor was so bad it was the only Transformer I left my ex-wife in the divorce. Not as part of an agreement, it just had to go. Or stay. However you want to frame that

In regards to BWN, I want to talk about Triple Changers, namely TM 1. Up until this point we've been quite vocal about those from the Base waves and TM 2 we either don't like or regard as bad figures. Is that the case for TM 1? Was there a bad one, at all??

Airazor, Cheetor, Depth Charge, Primal, Rattrap, Rhinox and Optimal Optimus

Megatron, Rampage, Scavenger, Tarantulas, Terrorsaur and Waspinator

Barring those added by outside sources, I think that just about sums up the line...

Well, Stampy makes a fair bit of sense at least. He's a rabbit, and rabbits are known for stamping their big feet on the ground.

He is, when I first got him, I was dubious and didn't realise how he transformed (he was in bot mode), but the Transformation was genius and looked the part. Even the lack of hands didn't put me off as I just used the insect mode legs to make it look like fingers

A personal favourite. His head sculpt alone is sublime. Actually I don't think any of the TM Predacons are anything less than great.
As far as the Maximals go, well I've already noted that I don't like Optimal Optimus but if I had to point at a figure [I owned, unlike OpOp] I wasn't 100% keen on, it would have to be Airazor. The Beast Mode is nice. Bot Mode has a lot of overhanging Chrome kibble, from the wings. That alt-mode though.. is just lame.

Neo was insane, but it is really good. I agree about Mach Kick, and i think those 3rd modes were incredibly silly and complete nonsense. None of my figures assume those modes.

And I agree about Transmetals, I don't think we had a bad TM. I really like Scavenger too!

I had one goal this weekend, to finish setting up all the Beast Wars figures.

And I feel like I got no where. I ended up re-arranging things to help them fit better. Where the hell is a giant shiny female spider supposed to fit? What about all these with their honking big back kibble? ugh ...

And now I have a headache.

Man, Hasbro really should try to bring back Beast Wars into Generations more as there are enough designs to fill a whole trilogy of lines, be it as direct remakes (a bit unlikely, however) or re-imagining. Hell at this point I would not even care if a Generations Beast Wars line just went with GEEWUN mechanimals for alt modes. Its just that, not only is there a whole roster of well-liked characters to bring back but plenty of inventive critters and transformations in there.

Exactly, the Beast Era gave us some really well loved characters and a ton of unique and interesting transformation. sooner or later, carformers and truckformers get boring, and you need to enjoy some beast wars

A cool thing that HasTak could also do,is a "Studio Series" version of Beast Wars, with whole cast being screen accurate while still maintaining scale.
Since the Transmetals toy are more accurate, some of them would only need a new head.
Since we don't know if Masterpiece line is goind to do any of the bigger characters, this would be the one of our best chances to get those new toys.

Was not a fan of the Generations beasts, the "modern updates" I felt were a let down compared the originals.

Maybe I'm being stubborn, but it's really hard to top some of those originals.

Well I'd argue the season 2 and season 3-era figures are hard to improve upon but I'd just love to have new figures to display I'm not afraid to touch for fear of destruction. Megatron is one in particular I badly need, especially either in some mimicry of his Transmetal forms (either of them).

It is weird, thinking back to the pre-Internet days of the Beast Era. When my TM Megs' leg fell off, literally just slid off the pin in the hip and just wouldn't go back. I had assumed it was just the luck of the QA draw. Oddly enough the same thing had happened with my Bat Primal, with one of his arms.
It is only now, reading shared tales, I realised my issues were not in isolation. I've even seen other pictures online of other Bat Primals, all missing the same right arm. It is wild.
Although, aside from Bat Primal, TM Megatron and Rampage (left leg, from the knee), I never had breakage issues with anyone else.
