Editor wrote:His mask is mentioned in the book.
It was a specially made dress made from technology that Dr Manhatten made possible, except that the woman who ordered it (Kitty Genovese) din't like it, Kovacs took the dress and used it to make his "Face"
I thought that the way they did his mask worked great.
It's strange one of the few things that did bug me in the movie was that when I read the book ages ago, I didn't pick up that "Sign Guy" that was always in the background was Rorshach until he was revealed, however with the movie, My GF who hasn't read the book was able to figure it out by the funeral, as he stood out a heck of a lot more.
Jackie Earle Haley did a brilliant job both as Rorshach and as "Kovacs", he really was able to pull the character right of the page and onto the screen.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Mkall wrote:I absolutely loved that movie. 3 hours have never gone by so fast or have felt that rewarding. (at least never when a woman's not involved)
Whoever played Rorshach/Kovacs deserves some type of award.

I'm pretty sure the implication is that Big Figure paid off the prisoners to riot round the same time the guy Rorschach killed by throwing the fry vat full of cooking oil at him died, so as to make it easier for him and his goons to get to him.
Predaprince wrote:What was that device and when did he do that? Was it after Dr. Manhattan was created and was still with his first girlfriend?
original sin wrote:But how did they get out of their cells? That's the part I'm not getting.
Editor wrote:He didn't give anyone Cancer.
He took advantage of the fact those people had cancer, and an association with Dr. Manhatten to pose the question of did they get it from being near him.

Cyberstrike wrote:Overall I'm glad they left The Tales of the Black Feighter out of it even in the book it seemed more of a filler and never made any sense to me.
Editor wrote:The make-up didn't bother me as much as that another movie in theaters a short while ago featured a much better Nixon. (Frost/Nixon)

It's not an audio/vision issue, it's a better actor with a better portrayal.

Editor wrote:I was going to post about that but I thought I should try and confirm it was Gary before doing so. I tried to spot his name in the credits but didn't catch it. Makes me wonder how many other "Vancouver Specials" I could have missed in there.

It's the Fox News/Nancy Grace guilt by association tabloid type reporting, used this way to create a fear of Dr. M, so he would leave, as Adrian knew that John had the ability to stop him had he been on earth.
He did invent the machine that blocked John's ability to see into the future, and adapted John's reacter to power the S.Q.U.I.D. weapon.

Actually Night Owl is based on Blue Bettle and Rorshach is based on 2 different comic characters, Mr.At and The Question.
