I feel sorry for the idiots at the 'con or eBay that spend $1,000 US or more on a figure because it comes in a different colored plastic.
Just retarted.
Why am I an idiot? Because I spent 2 grand on a gold figure? Because I have a job that gives me the disposable income to spend that kind of money on a figure? I don't get people who make comments like that.
Eh they are just jealous. We all wish we had that kind of disposable income. However those without it often act rather immaturely about it to make themselves feel better about not having that sort of money.
On the other hand "A fool and his money are soon parted" comes to mind as well. It is one thing to buy things you enjoy if you have the money. As long as you spend at least some of it wisely. Unfortunately those with limited means don't often understand that.
There is no reason to get antsy, Getter. I just think that is a bit much to spend on a kid's toy.
Ever watch the Simpsons?
"It's the same, but Malibu Stacey has a new hat!!!"![]()
Same deal.
If spending that much on plastic brings you joy, hey, that is great. But I think it is close to insane.
It is not a question of wealth, which just proves in my mind these lucky draws are all about the status boost some collectors may feel at having something others will envy.
I own, apart from the new Porsche, almost everything I have ever wanted, from the Galvatron reissue, to the 2007 Kawasaki 650 Ninja in my garage...
I could buy a MISB Fort Max right now. In CASH.
But that is a waste of money in my mind when I have a Brave Maximus sitting right here.
The same thing goes for the "clear" Omega Prime TRU giftset and others like it...that command a premium...based...on...color...when all of them are made by 6 year-olds in China for .17 US/hr.
I fail to see the whole "lucky" thing.
So, if you feel lucky spending $1,000 US+ on a TOY, then you have more luck than I do.
But, like everything, your mileage may vary.
(Sorry about the whole "could care less..." thing, I suppose it is only we Yanks who use improper English...not like someone who may live in Blackpool or anywhere outside of London, right?)
I never understood why other people can't seem to understand other peoples luxuries. It's all relative, there are somethings I could never see spending money on that other people do. The difference is that I don't put people down for buying what I would consider frivolous items. Besides it's also all relative, a $2,000 figure was the cost of tuning the engine in my last car...and tuning has absolutely no resale value.
It does if you plan on keeping it running...otherwise, your car becomes a very large lawn ornament.
You must not know much about engines then, friend.

I took it out of context. The engine was a transplant (Supra into a Lexus) with a custom engine management system. It wasn't running vs non-running, it was 400hp vs 700hp. But it was a lot of labor, which really can't be resold. Either ways race cars is a hobby that many people consider frivoulous spending. I don't.
My point is there is an ass for every seat, it just doesn't mean someones retarded for picking the seat that they wanted. Get it?

I "get" your point, but I don't "get" it at the same time, so we will not see eye-to-eye.
Whatever floats your boat, Getter. that does not mean I am going to get seasick with you, that's all I'm saying.

That's fine, just don't attach an insult to it.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Just because I have an opinion does not mean it should upset you. These are just electrons on your screen, don't make it personal man.

Saying that one is a retard for buying a figure over $1000 is an insult to people that bought a figure over for $1000. So it might be electrons on my screen, but one of the rules of this site is no insults:
1. No flaming, trolling, harassing, or baiting other guests.
Flaming should be self evident, trolling means to make posts or threads for the intended purpose of starting an argument, while baiting is any post intended to make another user resort to flaming. Harassment means following a user or group of users around through multiple threads to flame them, bait them, or otherwise cause them to want to avoid the boards because of a user's actions towards them. If there is a discussion and there ends up some sort of disagreement on someone's personal opinion, simply try and respect each others opinions without forcing them on others.
Example of a disagreement with opinions
Your reason for supporting your political view is not good because... is an ok statement.
If you believe that you suck and are retarded... is not an ok statement.

I never singled you out, not once.
How about this then: "I think it is somewhat wasteful to spend $1,000 on a toy BECAUSE you could buy like, damn, 10 Masterpiece toys with the money."?
I hope that passes muster for you.

Ok, enough. It's not that you singled me out. It's that you called anyone who spent over $300 on a figure a retard...which includes many people on this site. And arguing with a moderator about it is also a site violation.

But I have spent on multiple occasions $200-$300 on a single figure. I collect the Yamato Macross figures and they are quite expensive. If these things make you happy, then the money shouldnt matter.
Also YouFearGalvatron you have earned yourself a ban for your offensive comments and behavior. You can have a opinion but insulting people along with your opinion is not acceptable.

Never mind- found him.

Here is a good site to see some pcis of him incase it's not the same site you found. IMO the E Hobby Ghost Starscream is way better, but Secret Starscream would be nice to have because of what he is.
