What Transformers toy was most expensive to date? I mean the official suggested retail price from Hasbro. (Pls don't include jack-up prices)
Fortress Maximus tied with Ultimate Bumblebee at $99.99

What about Masterpiece series? How do they compare?

The most I have personally paid, myself, on one TF is not that much. I think £40 at the most, but I can't think of what that would have been. I've paid £30 for a couple I think. Energon Ultra Magnus was one that I definately had to buy to make my blue super-duper-deluxe Armada Prime combiner and I think he was £30. And if you count Omega Prime as one figure I suppose he must have been about £30 (£15 each one probably-actually I may have paid more for Magnus) but generally I have been lucky getting baragains...or I've been taking chances waiting for sales. Got Unicron when he was on sale and lately I've been after the smaller toys anyway. I like big guys now and again, but Deluxe sized is probably my favourite.

edit: Dispensor, you could get a job illegally, but from what I hear in the news sweatshops don't pay well, so there's no point. You could always be a Victorian-era chimney sweep...but no TFs back then.

The American releases of MP Prime and Starscream were both less than $99. The others were Japanese releases which I personally wouldn't consider part of the list as far as tracking the most expensive.

PS. In answer to this thread, I paid $200 for a Brave Maximus but I try to find lower prices on Ebay for everything else.

Thats a tough one, I dropped so much on bots over the years that it's tough. But not counting imports or vintage, I'd have to say Armada Unicron for $60 from Hasbro direct.

Sadly I got a total of 4 of that figure, 2 in each color scheme. 2 boxed and 2 opened, and outside of the first one, I payed maybe $12.50 for each during Targets clearance sale.

Still, off Ebay, and other collector avenues I've payed well into the hundreds for many many bots.

Acually, a lost of music/cd shops sell toys and what not, and last week i saw two revoltech megatrons there. Funny enough, this, and a comic shop, are ht eonly places I've seen the transformers monopolygame.

and speaking of expensive transformers, since my last post on this topic, I have been ebaying an Omega Supreme.. so i looks like he'llbe my most expensive!

$40 is the most I have spent on a single figure, and it would be Re-issue Soundwave. I was fed up being unable to find him in store, or TRU own website, so I just went through eBay

throughout the years of collecting( 5 or 10 years)
would you say that you had spend over a thousand or tens of thousands of dollars for your entire transformers collection?
btw have you ever lie to your spouses about the money you've spent so far in the collection? finally, do you ever hide your new purchased figures in drawers so your wives won't find out about them?

my most expensive transformer was my classic camaro bumblebee, i haven't ever payed alot for transformers. Not more than 50 bucks, which was my classic camaro bumblebee plus shipping. I'm new to collecting transformers and in the future will probably pay a lot more.

Reussie Predaking (200 bucks)
Botcon Arcee (MISB 120 bucks)
Botcon White TM Tiger Tigertrno ( MISB 100 euros, roughly 90 bucks)
Botcon Cyclonus ( I still think getting one for 65 bucks MISB was cheap, BBTS has a loose incomplete one at 90 bucks)
Primal Prime (MISB 120 bucks)

$185 inc. shipping for the gray gun 20th anniv. Prime
followed by $136 inc. for a 20th anniv Prime with black gun.

but my MP-4 was €125 so.. the biggest factor here is what I'm willing to pay for an item. (the gray gun one was to complete the line-up of MP Primes)

biggest spending at once was $200 for 5 alternators.

It took me $600 + whatever shipping costs involved to get Fortress Maximus 100% complete. The next most expensive was my Italiam Diaclone Bluestreak @ a hefty $250 + shipping. The re-issue Predaking Giftset came pretty close to the diaclone Bluestreak as did the Chinese re-issue of Megatron.

Did you buy it from Wal-Mart, or from action-hq.com? Wal-Mart wanted about $30 while action-hq.com wants $69.95 for it (and that's not including at least $15ish for shipping). I don't mind so much the action-hq price when it's something that wouldn't otherwise be available here in America, but when it is... lets just say damn I'm lucky I was able to actually find a Wal-Mart that still had a Classics Devastator this month and was able to pick it up.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

What I paid for it almost ten years ago was pennies to what it is now. My G1 Arcee Prototype. I'm still the biggest Douchebag in the world for selling it. I sold it for five Gs, but it's worth so much more.

While (G1) Metroplex is somewhat impressive, JRX (gift set) is the most expensive that I've bought myself.

Well it's a bit of a tie with these guys:

Japanese Fortress Maximus MIB
Japanese Black Zarek MIB complete
Japanese Guard City MIB Complete

I don't really want to get into prices, I don't remember the exact amounts, but I know they were expensive.

You had the Chromedome repaint version? How did you get that? That's awesome.

Also, the highst priced figure I have heard sold for TFs was the G1 Unicron prototype for $12,000.

Most expensive modern robot toy sold is Machinder Garada K-7 for $28,000.

Most expensive robot toy sold was something called "the gang of three", which were tin robots from like the 50s for around $100,000.

Nope, I had the original G1 Prototype. It was a brick the the rest back in the day. It reminded me a lot of Blurr. I bought it off of ebay for like $500. I was younger and had a lot of disposable income. Ask Hal from Rabbid Squirrel, I've been trying to trace it's where abouts for some time now for him.

It's from a local toy shop. It was during the time before the official re-release of Wal-Mart. I thought that toy is nearing its end, and just a few toys left to grab. Prices were going beyond $80 on ebay. So i got mine at around $55. A few weeks later, i saw the announcement of re-release at Wal-Mart, $29.95. Dam!
