I've been scanning the posts for an answer, so forgive me if I somehow missed the it, but: How does Bumblebee get his voice back at the end of the movie? What did I miss that made him able to talk normally again?

I just assumed that he'd been able to talk since whats-his-name attempted to repair him, but chose not to, or (my preferred thinking) that he was 'repaired' when he touched the Allspark Cube.
But either way, he'd been able to talk for a while, but didn't really feel the need to.

No, he literally could not talk before.


He touched the cube. If it can turn a mountain dew machine into an evil robot and give a nokia cell phone a machine gun penis, then it can bring Bumblebee's voice back.

it was from touching the allspark. you saw frenzy get his whole body back when he got near it. so BB just didnt talk. we dont know why really, but i guess it was to add dramatic effect to the end.

I've always assumed it had something to do with his contact with the All Spark. The same reason that Frenzy is suddenly able to convert back into full robot form.

Basically, what the above three said.

His voice just came back, but Ratchet still had to fix it because it was croaky.

I'll agree with you there! When Bumblebee spoke I kinda blinked because that was not how I imagined Bumblebee would sound.

The allspark repaired him, but it still had to adjust thats why when he said "permission to speak sir" it was all muffled and raspy

Kudo's to Mark Ryan for giving BB a bit of authority in his voice. Even though it was only a few lines, I really liked how his voice sounded. It'll be nice if he comes back for the second movie.

He touched the allspark!!!! Asks Optimus for permission to speak thats why bumble is baddass he is humble nothing to say maybe??/ Ratchet says he is working on his voice it was banged up when barricade tried to mess!

I originally agreed with the allspark repairing his voice box or whatever you call it, but I saw the movie again and after he shrank the cube he spoke, but it was still radio talk.

I guess it could have taken a lil while to repair but Frenzy got his whole body back instantly.

The whole...touching the Allspark issue just flew over my head, and completely makes sense. What an idiot I am. =\

I don't get all this "he just didn't talk" stuff. Why would he continue to use radio speak if he could really talk? The whole permission thing was because it was a dramatic and important moment. If he could have spoken during the fight, he would not have asked.

Frenzy didn't get fixed until he touched the allspark. Bumblebee didn't speak until he touched the allspark. It's not being near it, it's physical contact.


Or do I need to see the movie again?

Transformers are not just machines they are living organisms. I assumed his vocal emitters healed with time and some assistance from Ratchet. Then again Ratchet did reattach Bumblebee's legs so he may have repaired this vocals as well.

Its plain and simple that BB was repaired when he touched the allspark as he was handing it to Sam, he didnt need to talk at any other time during the battle.

ok i feel stupid now i thought mikaela fixed him lol. cuz after he talked sam looked shocked and looked at mikaela and she smiled. she is master mechanic

Like I said before. I agree that the allspark repaired him, maybe is was just a movie error or something, but after he touched and shrank the cube he still talked like a radio.
