Bay went online to listen to the crying, whining fanboys (and girls) and actually pandered to them. He kept closely to the facial designs and the color scheme, he picked the Peterbilt because it was the largest semi--hence it would make Optimus a bigger robot--and, maybe some of you missed this, but he even got the original G1 voice actor to fill the part. The way you guys flame Bay, you'd think he didn't even consider and outright disregarded using Cullen and made Optimus a dump truck.

And don't give me the "this is not G1 Optimus Prime" bullshit, if it's not, it should be, because he IS Optimus Prime and making completely new versions in anything but "What if" type comics is just raping the original character.

Not to mention that the slightly older, wiser, movie Optimus Prime is even MORE out of character with the flames on than G1 Optimus.

Get over it seriously! Whats sad is this is not the first time OP appeared as a Peterbuilt Semi instead of a flatnosed Semi. G2 Laster OP was also a Peterbuilt, yet he was regarded as one of the best OP's of all time, and he wasn't even HALF as detailed as movie OP

Get over it people. If they would of kept everything G1 accurate the result would of been one crappy movie!

Why hasn't Sonray been warned by the mods? I've had topics gone missing for my arguing(which, by the way, is the stupidest possible thing you can do when you can just lock it and have people learn from it, and reeks of covering up people's opinions) but they don't seem to care about what Sonray does.

Nor does Sonray seem to care for reading my posts, since the fact that the Optimus in the movie is G1 Optimus, essentially, is why the flames are unsuited.

Your topics were deleted because they broke the TOS, plus your arguements were full of flaming and insulting comments.

I do get warned by the mods, but only when i actually do something wrong. But when i am baited by someone else then it isnt my fault.

In this case i am just fed up with your stupid comments and logic. It gets up my nose and thus why you get a mouthful from me.

And it ISNT g1 optimus, its NOT a G1 remake. The characters are the same, but its still not a G1 movie, just as cybertron, energon and armada wasnt G1 cartoons.

The sooner you get that through your thick thought processing unit, the better.

Anyways, Prime has flames. They look cool. Something different other then the red and white with a little bit of blue primes we see in every tf show.

Primal was awsome because he didnt look like alot of other primes, color wise, in my opinion, so movie prime is right up my alley.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. Having an opinion on the flames is fine but you make some comments that are utterly unjustified.

Why are flames out of character? The flames didn't add or detract from the character so no harm, no foul. With the exception of a few lines of dialogue that seemed out of place (though they made sense in the context of the movie), the rest of his character matched up with previous Optimus Primes.

Why is the "this is not G1 Optimus Prime" school of thought bullshit? The film isn't G1. You say, "if it's not, it should be". Why should it be? Why does he have to be his G1 self?

G1 Optimus Prime is Optimus Prime, but there are other versions of the character that are Optimus Prime as well. He's different things to different people. In what way is revamping a character (who, incidentally, has been revamped numerous times before) "raping" him. Brands are refreshed every now and then. It's fine.

All the same name & characteristics however not the same guy!
Besides, he's called Convoy in Japan, does that mean the Convoy in the Japanese version of G1 isn't the same character as in English/American G1...

This Prime is not the G1 Prime. He's older, as ancient as movie Megatron and was one of the 2 original rulers of Cybertron. In this way he is more venerable than any incarnation of Optimus, and that's pretty cool if you ask me.

Prime in this movie is to me the most powerful, ancient, take-no-crap-from-highway-Decepticreep-thugs Prime ever.
